What guests think

Across reviews of Holiday Inn Express Seattle - Sea-Tac Airport by IHG, travelers often praise friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms, and a convenient airport shuttle, with a generally well-liked breakfast that starts early for early flights.

Common drawbacks include traffic, train, and plane noise, paid parking with no long-term option, inconsistent carpet and odor issues, and occasional maintenance, shuttle, or check-in problems. The location is close to the light rail and airport, but the surrounding area feels less appealing to some and isn’t ideal for walking. Overall, expect a practical airport stopover with friendly service and variable noise.

The room is well designed, clean and reasonably quiet considering how close to SeaTac. We chose this hotel because of the low rate and complimentary airport shuttle. The shuttle service was truly disastrous. It was 45 minutes after first call before we boarded a shuttle even though at least three labeled holiday inn express came by. The drivers insisted they were only Fairfield. When in fact they share the same parking lot and should have taken us. The hotel is only 1.2 miles from the airport. We could have walked.

As always this is my go-to place for any Mariner or Seahawk game , except I was surprised to see that now they're charging $20 to park your car in the parking lot.

Our stay was overall good except for one of our cars windows was smashed in while the other was stolen. The hotel does not have cameras in the parking lot and when I informed the front desk about our vehicle being stolen she said “that’s annoying”.

I booked this stay through Expedia. I specifically was looking for a stay, park and fly. We are going to be gone for a week. We didn’t want to deal with morning traffic and finding a parking place before our morning flight. When we got to the hotel to check in, we were informed not only did our reservations not include long term parking, but it wasn’t even available. They don’t have long term parking. Completely misinformed by Expedia. We are a different hotel tonight.

My trip was over night, clean room, staff was friendly and helpful! Breakfast was good, I would definitely stay there again, the shuttle that takes you from the airport to the hotel and vice versa is very convenient but just make sure you are not late, when u give them a time to be picked up at the hotel, you better make sure you are waiting on them cause they wouldn’t wait two minutes for the rest of our group to come down the elevator, but other than that the stay was nice

I am 5'3" and had a very hard time getting on the bed because it was so high. When I did get up there and sat on the edge my feet were a good 2 feet from the floor. Once up there it was comfortable. The bathroom had a very odd sliding door that offered no real privacy. There was a large gap and no handle or lock of any kind. Also, the entry door had at least an inch of gap at the bottom that light and sound came thru. As well as a spider crawling across that floor. The microwave took some figuring out. Would be nice if there were instructions. Lastly, in the room above us were very loud children that were up all night running, jumping and bouncing a ball or something. We got very little sleep. There should be quiet time rules and kids should not be on upper floors if possible.

Bed was comfy but…. Their thermostats are preset to not go below 66. So if you like to sleep cold you can’t. We tried sleeping with the window open(which only opens about 4 inches) but it’s very noisy at the airport. And they don’t have fans. So sleep wasn’t an option.

The hotel is in great condition. We got the 1 bedroom suite and it was great having some extra room for my family and I during our short stay. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast options were okay. The property itself was very nice. However, at check in on 1/28 we had a bad experience with clerk at the desk. She was on the phone with another employee, would not look up, give us eye contact, or even acknowledge we were standing there for 15 minutes after a long day of travel. I finally said excuse me can this call be continued since it’s obviously an issue with an employee that’s not easily resolved? Very poor service and definitely needs training at the very least to acknowledge customers and let them know she’ll be with them shortly.

Mia, the check in was very rude. We had just walked in and our family members who were dropping us off were saying goodbye, not only was she rude, but she was also making off handed comments underneath her breathe afterwards. She was also rushing us. To which I then told her that I was saying goodbye and didn't appreciate being rushed as we hadn't even asked her to check us in at that time. But because she was in a rush for some reason she wanted everything done ASAP. Didn't appreciate the service she provided or the fact that she was being rude. If she doesn't like working here then she should get a different job.

I was second in line to check in around 8pm after a long flight. They were unable to make keys for the rooms! 6 parties arrived after me. After 55 minutes Expedia was able to get me a refund and i went elsewhere because i had a car. Others were stuck. Elizabeth at the desk was managing all guests, all incoming calls and trying to talk on the phone to whoever was supposed to help her get the keys fixed. She went to the manager more than once THE MANAGER DID NOT COME OUT TO TALK WITH GUESTS OR HELP ELIZABETH IN THE 55 MIN. I WAITED. THAT MANAGER SHOULD LOSE HIS/HER JOB. ELIZABETH SHOULD BE THE MANAGER. WHAT KIND OF MANAGEMENT HAS AN OPEN DOOR BEHIND THE DESK, HEARS 3 PHONES RINGING AT ONCE, KNOWS THERE ARE 8 PARTIES WAITING AND AND IS TOO BUSY TO HELP FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM? SHAMEFUL.

Free breakfast the worst. Bananas so rotten we still joke about them. No potatoes only eggs. God knows what type of sausage they used. I had to find the coffee cups because no one was there to put out more cups. In the morning is so sun glaring staff did not lower screens so we could avoid the sun blaring in our eyes. Some people had no where to sit except with the sun in their face. One day no cereal. Next day had cereal but all 3 were sugar type cereals.

I was very disappointed by this hotel. We were registered as 3 people in a King studio and we only were given 2 bath towels. When I asked the font desk person for a third towel she gave me a hard time. Were we supposed to share towels? Secondly in 73 years of travel I’ve never been in a hotel that didn’t have blackout shades. That made the night much more difficult. The elevator carpets were dirty. The breakfast was mediocre. In between my first and second helping of oatmeal the staff had significantly watered down the oatmeal I assume to make it more plentiful. Not good.

This hotel provided exactly what I needed in a 1-night hotel stay. It was super quiet. I did not hear any of the other people in the building. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the front desk clerk gave me a room that fit my requests perfectly. The breakfast selection was a bit sparse due to the warming oven not working, but malfunctioning equipment can happen at any hotel and is nobody's fault.
