Hit or Miss Experience – Disappointing Customer Service! Our stay at the Microtel Inn & Suites in Gatlinburg was a mixed experience, to say the least! On our first night, the front desk clerk was wonderful, very attentive, friendly, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the employee working the following day. The second front desk clerk was more interested in his cellphone than assisting guests. He was inattentive, unprofessional, and downright rude! Before heading out to explore Gatlinburg, we specifically requested that our room be serviced. He wrote down our room number, leading us to believe our request would be taken care of. However, when we returned later that day, absolutely NOTHING had been done to our room! When we called the front desk to address the issue, the same employee had the audacity to accuse my partner of lying about making the request! Completely unacceptable and disrespectful behavior toward paying guests! On a positive note, the hotel itself was decent, and its location was convenient, just a short distance from the main boulevard and Gatlinburg’s attractions. My advice? Stay at your own risk! Your experience here seems to depend entirely on who’s working the front desk. It’s unfortunate that one employee’s poor attitude and lack of professionalism can overshadow an otherwise decent stay. Management should seriously address the inconsistency in customer service!

There was a crack on the outside of the tub, and other blemishes. I took pictures so I wouldn’t get charged for them. I left the room and came back later that night with the tv on. I’m not sure if it was set on a timer or what happened there. The man checking us in was not very friendly. It was like we were interrupting him while he was doing nothing. The location was great for walking downtown.

We stayed Monday-Monday and our room was not serviced at all. So I had to go upfront and ask for more toilet paper twice. Online it said 2 beds 1 room, but it was actually 2 rooms side-by-side (that part was nice) but one of the doors between the rooms didn’t fully shut, and the bathroom door didn’t fully shut either. Being close to everything was pretty cool though. So I guess that helps out a lot. And make sure you have the shower curtain in the tub. Or you will water board the floor.
