Baymont by Wyndham Helena

Room was ok - didn't hear any noise from other rooms. The hot tub was not working - one of the reasons we booked this property. We walked across the street to a Mexican restaurant - it was really good. Breakfast was just ok - nothing to get excited about.

Hotel was clean. Staff very good. Sites herein Dec 2024 and again in March 2025. Both times the pool and hot tub closed. Very disappointing. Nothing was mentioned until check in! Furniture getting pretty worn. Beds were good

One Star for basic, safe accommodation and One Star for the outstanding staff. I felt reasonably safe and despite a thunderstorm prior to my arrival knocking out the internet for about 18 hours, I was graciously checked in without issue. I immediately had an issue with the bedding, as there was some blood on it, but the front desk was quick to get me replacement bedding. Had a king with a pull out sofa in the room. Sofa wasn't very comfortable. My bathroom had a cracked sink and the tub definitely needed some work too. Room smelled musty but not bad. I suspect the AC unit may have needed a cleaning but the AC worked well. Hallway carpet needs to be either professionally cleaned or replaced as it is noticeably dirty and stretched at the lobby end of the hallway. I did not partake in the breakfast, but it smelled wonderful. I also didn't use the pool, but saw other families using it and having a good time. Hot tub was closed. Parking is not good. There are enough spaces in the lot to handle things, but large trucks have a tendency to not leave much room for other guests to get in and out. There is only ONE entrance/exit. There is also no temporary space for guests checking in, so this created a bottleneck for me at one point (stayed 2 nights), as an individual with a disability just parked right inside the entrance and left his car there. Would I stay again? Yes, but not at the price point that I paid this time around.

It was very noisy. Lighting in rooms were very bad. need more lights. Hot tub was broken.

Check in guy was great. Breakfast was ok. No elevator is super weird. But ultimately I chose this hotel for the pool, which was ice cold - not swimmable at all. Will have to find somewhere else for my trips through.

Dogs, dogs, dogs annd NO elevator. All rooms have had dogs in them, per front desk. Ours smelled like a wet dog. I don’t have a dog, so this was awful. Asked front desk for room spray and all they had was a room cleaning ( Mr Clean ) spray, so I had a Mr Clean/ wet dog smell in room, not so good. It’s an aged property, ie…sitting chair in room was stained and fabric torn on right arm, carpet loose in corner, bathroom ceiling had cracked and stained plaster, bathroom floor was missing trim behind toilet. No car pull up area to unload, in fact side walk was all torn up and walked up on gravel to front door. Carpet in hallway was very darkened with stains. Thankful that I was gone all day, and so limited time in room, so just slept and left. Not a property I would recommend.

We had to change rooms because sheets were dirty (poop stained) we called ahead to find out if hottub was operational, they said yes, it was not. Couldn’t get on Internet. Treadmill didn’t work in fitness room. Will not book with Baymont again . Breakfast was actually decent! Staff tried to work through each issue

Very disappointed the hot tub was not open when it was a top reason I selected the hotel. Lots of stains and dents throughout the hotel. Online check in made check in quick but odd my identity wasn’t confirmed at check in. Desk staff was pleasant.

This property gave very good value for our room price. Our only real complaint that they cannot fix is that the only entrance to the hotel is hard to find because a bank’s drive in entrance appears to be for the hotel. The real entrance is not marked well, is short and can be blocked by even two pickups attempting to register or by a vehicle attempting to leave the hotel from its spacious parking lot but requires a sharp right hand turn and then another sharp left hand turn to reach the street which is only 25 feet away from his sharp turn.

We were terribly disappointed in this hotel, and if there was a way to have cancelled our reservation, we would have done so. The hotel is very run down. The hallway carpets don't look as though they have EVER been vacuumed or cleaned! The floor in our room was dirty, their was hair around the toilet, (and I doubt that it had been cleaned or sanitized in months!) I was afraid of letting the water from the shower head wash over my face, as it was full of black mold. When we went to breakfast, about an hour after it started, there was little to no food available, and no one acting as though they were refilling the pans. The juice machine wasn't working, so we walked away hungry and disgusted. I would NOT recommend this hotel. When a customer comes to a place such as this, can we change our minds about staying and cancel the reservation??? I hope that the staff at least washed the sheets and linens. Ugh

The hot tub/ pool area was dirty and poorly kept. The bedding had black soot on it. The caulking in the bathroom was in need of refreshing.

Front desk personnel was curtious and welcoming. Hallway carpet had not been vacuumed and was dirty. Our room had a pile of hair behind the door of the bathroom and some in the tub. I called front desk and they said they would send someone to clean it. No one showed so I went and got a vacuum from the front desk and cleaned the bathroom and hallway in front of our room to outside door. Windows to outside in hallway and door were filthy with water stains and hand prints. I’ll never stay here again.

Room was not cleaned properly. Had hair all over floors and in shower. Hallways were very dirty. Found swifter in hallway near door to clean up hair in room. Would never recommend or choose another Baymont Hotel because of this experience.

When we arrived at the staff was fantastic and we got checked in right away, but when we got to our room, there was trash on the floor. The soap in the bathroom was open and used, and there are the blood stain on the white comforter on the bed so we went downstairs we got a new room. We went up to the new room and that one also had dirty blankets and sheets on the bed. I was able to scrape off something with my room key And at that point, we just asked for a refund and went to a different hotel.

Overall: just not clean! I’m ok with “old” but this was dirty. First room smelled like feet. Second room wasn’t very clean (hard surfaces were not clean) but we were super tired and I wiped down everything myself. Shower curtain was moldy and the staff provided a new one. Tub a little scary - maybe just stained. Molding around our door was falling off. Blow dryer hung up on the bathroom wall with a screw. Front desk staff was good and responsive. Corridor carpet was reprehensible with mashed in food stains. I’m surprised this establishment is affiliated with Wyndham.

Sadly, we were disappointed in the condition of our room. We are Wyndham members and usually stay at their hotels. The bed was comfortable and that's the best we can say. The curtain's blackout layer was rotted and torn away from the front curtain. One of the lamp shades was barely hanging by the top wire and the other one was cracked. The bathroom tile on the base of the wall was chipped & cracked and a big chunk of wood was missing from the vanity. My first impression was to check for bed bugs and I did. TV was small and instead of being hung on the wall, was on the dresser and you could hardly see the picture while lying in bed. Didn't eat the breakfast because we felt if the room was this bad what on earth did the kitchen look like. Outside trash cans were overflowing every time we went by them, and we were there for two nights. I never send a poor review and sorry to send one now. Hopefully remodeling is in the future of this hotel. It just looked like no one has been taking care of it. The room needed lots of TLC.

The bathroom was not clean and the tub was all cracked and chipped. The hallways, stairs and common areas were gross. We got a knock on the door at 9 am to see if we were ready to check out. Mind you check out is at 11 and we were still sleeping. Then another knock at 1030. Felt very rushed to leave.

The first room had drips down the dresser and mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom. The second room was cleaner but also had mold all over the ceiling and bathtub taps with mold or dirt around the tap. The staff was kind to switch out a pillow that was covered in yellow stains under the clean pillow case. Unfortunately we were not able to switch to a different hotel. The bed was clean and very comfortable though. And the breakfast was enjoyable.

First time stay. Not a good experience. Checked in hotel. It was almost 100 degrees outside. Turned on AC in room and went to watch Jeff Dunham at the Fair. Went back to hotel room immediately after, about 1.5 hours, expecting the room to be cool. NOPE! AC did not work, could not sleep. We had a long days trip planned the next day and this was a nightmare. Tried to call front desk and guess what, PHONE DID NOT WORK! So, went to front desk and informed staff on duty of the issue. The guy came in and even HE was shocked at what he discovered after lifting up the cover on AC. Filter matted down with lint. He attempted to wipe it off, said it was his 3rd day on the job, so not his fault, but even he said this is our maintenance responsibility and obviously they are not doing a very good job. He somehow found a fan and this is what we had to use, and we were thankful for that, Thanks. It helped a little, but the night was a nightmare. We all could not sleep until 3am, got up at 8am, with a 5 hour trip. NOT GOOD! Tried to ask for a different room, but DENIED, tried to ask for a refund, DENIED. The room was room 123. I just hope that nobody else had this issue. It's the principal of it and you all understand. We traveled 5 hours and we all expect things to be functioning properly at whatever hotel we stay, so I recommend if you stay here, to check out everything in the room before you settle in. AND hopefully management will address this issue and any other issues, in all rooms.

Room was quiet, AC worked well, bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful and accommodating.

The property is super dated. Needs a major renovation. Staff was friendly and helpful. At least put a bigger tv in the rooms.

This was a basic hotel for a quick one night stay. The staff is nice. The rooms were very clean but I'm need of a renovation desperately

The reason I did not give an excellent review is because your internet was not working. We did not have internet access our entire stay, after contacting the desk they put one of our devices on the staff link as I didn’t have any data and would not have been able to use my device.

The room I stayed in was very dark and strange in its arrangement of furniture. For instance the tv was very small and bolted to a desk right in front of a mirror but low enough that it was uncomfortable to try to watch TV from the bed. Also the tv stations were very glitchy. Just average amenities and not overly clean. Tons of dust and dust bunnies under the bed so I could tell it is not cleaned underneath the bed. Wouldn’t highly recommend staying here.

Stayed at this property many times. Usually they go down over time. This seems to be the same every visit. I will say that we stayed in #117 (Two Queens). The bed we chose to sleep in was closest to the bathroom. The other was so sagged it looked as if there was two invisible people laying in the bed! To bad I couldn't include a picture. BUT, saying that I still think it is good value and would stay here again.

The room smelled like smoke.

Room is dated. The tile floor in bathroom is cracked and uneven, smelled like stale cigarette smoke, some of the furniture was dented and corners broke off. The beds and pillows were comfortable and linens were clean, but the floor had a sticky spot.

There was a large chunk of drywall missing from the ceiling and the basebaord was coming off below the mirror. Small room

Staff was fantastic! We were greeted by every staff member we saw including housekeepers and maintenance. Night front desk worker was very kind and helpful! Room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Would recommend if looking for clean, affordable place to stay!

Front desk person was extrememly rude

We arrived at 2:00pm and Melissa said the room would be ready at 3:00, so we came back at 3:10 and the room wasn’t ready until almost 4:00. Melissa just kept saying how they had a lot of late checkouts. Not what I wanted to hear, when I was tired of traveling. We went to breakfast at 8:20am and I asked Melissa for syrup because the bottle was empty and she said “Well that’s all we have.” She was not concerned to help at all. The ice machine was broken and the spa was not working. The second morning we went to breakfast early at 6:35 and they were already out of biscuits to have with the gravy. The carpet in the hallways was horrible.

We had a wonderful stay! The customer service was excellent—everyone was friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. Plus, the location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend!

We love staying at the Baymont. Especially, Chris the front desk attendant. He is very polite, professional and kind. Thank you, Belmont, for having him on your staff. Also, everyone working for you are very kind and so willing to assist when necessary.

They gave away my room even after I confirmed late check-in by phone. Had to sleep on pullout sofa torture “bed” with urine stained pad(mattress?). Finally got what I’d reserved for nites 2&3. Also, no maid device

It was a great stay. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Most of the staff was great until the morning of the 19th when we checked out. An older lady with darker hair and glasses had zero customer service skills. I greeted her good morning and she just looked at me. When we checked out I said thank you, here are the keys and got the same response. Not even a smile or anything friendly about her. I’d let that one go. Had she checked us in, I would have kindly found another place to stay. She needs to take educated classes from the nice blonde or even the men that worked the counter. They were wonderful! I would have left a perfect review if it wasn’t for how rude she was to me both times.

The property is in a good location for dining and shopping.

Convenient location to visit family members in Helena. Good breakfast included. Easy parking. Friendly and helpful staff members!

Good price and location, fair condition, okay breakfast

It is a older hotel which is OK, but it was not very clean. something goopy on the bathroom door, smears of something on the walls, dirt & mold in the corners of the bathroom etc. Plenty of lighting in parking lot which was good as there were people out there doing drugs. Just a unsafe neighborhood. Would not go back again

All conveniences in the room. More blankets would be nice. Parking lot was rocky and didn't seem safe. Great site location and desk staff greeted each guest friendly. Morning breakfast consisted of a variety of pastries, biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and coffee was hot, ready and available at 6 am. Rooms needed some TLC.

On a 10 point scale I would give this a four, Neighborhood seemed run down with shady characters hanging near parking lot. Hotel room was okay but worn and a bit dirty. Fast food drive through was right outside our room window.

Nice bed, adequate breakfast, and friendly staff.

The bathtub looked awful, needed to be replaced. The rug in the hallway needed to be replaced. The breakfast was not hot, biscuits and gravy were served cool both mornings.

Breakfast was not great. Not alot of options and not enough food available for the number of guests. Checkin was very complicated even though i did the precheckin. The hotel is very rundown and not worth the price. The hot tub was out of order when we were there. We ended up having to switch rooms shortly after checkin as there were stains on the sheets. The beds was comfy and the water pressure and temperature was great.

The room was comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast was less than ideal. Food was not replaced when it was low. The juice machine broke down. All and all it was a good stay.
