Located in Union Bay, this apartment is in a rural area and near the beach. Native Sons Hall and Courtenay Railway Station are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Archie's Entertainment and Landmark Cinemas Courtenay. Courtenay and District Museum and Paleontology Centre and Puntledge River Hatchery are also worth visiting. Kayaking and snorkeling offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding and cycling nearby.

Nice, very clean and comfy suite in a lovely heritage home with nice garden. Quiet area but we felt that neighbourhood wasn't the best for walking if going for evening stroll or dog walk although there is a field close by to throw ball for a bit. Disappointed with no view from property for guests. I misunderstood the pics I think and the view in listing pic is upstairs which hosts have. Jenny was very nice and helpful and brought out a fire table which was appreciated to enjoy the evenings. Good central location.

My third or fourth time staying here, and always a great place to relax and use as a base for walks along the shore. It's increasingly rare to find a place friendly for bigger dogs, and the fully fenced yard means my old dogs can sit outside and sun themselves without being tempted to chase the local rabbits.

We had an great stay at this property near Comox on Vancouver Island. The house was spacious and well-equipped for our family of four, plus our dog. It was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.The property itself was incredibly pet-friendly, with a fully enclosed yard where our dog could run around safely. The house was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed, from kitchen essentials to extra blankets. The location couldn’t have been better. Property was spacious and had almost everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean and sanitary. The gardens outside add a nice touch since the roses were in bloom during our stay. Hosts were great at communicating and accommodating our needs. The only thing that was not as described is that this is a family home with a child living above the rental suite and as it is an older home the child running across the floors is quite noticeable.

My partner and I had a fantastic time during our stay. We appreciated all the thoughtful things that were included like the slippers, French press, coffee, laundry, conveniently placed hooks, and a great selection of cooking equipment. All one would ever need in easy to find places. We definitely would book this particular place again.

Very convenient location and the weather was very hot but the suite was nice and cool for sleeping and relaxing after biking. Jenny provided us with secure storage for our bikes and suggested restaurants and grocery stores. We had use of the yard so we could eat outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. I would definitely stay here again.

Jenny really thought of everything! This guest suite is equipped with everything you could possibly want or need during your stay- she even provided dog toys and treats for my pooch! What a wonderful place to stay! The area is beautiful, and we enjoyed checking out 3 different walks from the house. Lots of local history to explore in Union Bay. Like any single family home, you can hear footsteps from above, but the host family (and their sweet dog) are otherwise very quiet and the area is peaceful. We enjoyed the ocean/beach nearby, saw deer on the rail trail, and Hart Creek was secluded and lush. Highly recommend! ❤️

Haddon house was a lovely place to stay for our island vacation. Beautiful gardens surround the outside eating area and entry to suite. Comfortable bed and very clean and well stocked unit. Windows open at night keep the suite nice and cool. There was a big field very close so our dog could have a good run around.We highly recommend this place and will return in future.

We really enjoyed the suite. It was clean, modern and comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen. We appreciated the laundry after Beach days and the kids toys was an added bonus. Location is quiet and central if you plan to explore the Comox Valley and/or access to Buckley Bay.

We were very comfortable with the Hatton House guest suite. It is clean and well equipped with a very functional kitchen. The two bedrooms are compact,one with a queen bed, and the other with two twin beds.The bedding linens/duvets/pillows are all very nice. We loved that the suite is private, fully fenced and dog friendly, and the garden is lovely with lots of seating areas. The owners are very responsive and friendly, but give you your privacy.There are many interesting dog off leash trails in close proximity, and Union Bay is in a perfect mid Island location for lots of road trips to other towns and villages and beaches. We were very happy with our stay here, and would highly recommend.

We had a great stay in this suite in a heritage home that was moved to Union Bay from Vancouver. An amazing feat! Very clean with a comfortable bed and well stocked kitchen. My only recommendation would be to have a Nespresso machine for guests. I loved the location in Union Bay; just a short drive to Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland. Also close to Qualicum Beach. My dog and I really enjoyed walking at the Royston Seaside Trail. If you enjoy finding coffee shops, you’re in luck. So many in the area!

Island Getaway is wonderful - spotlessly clean, comfortable and conveniently located in a safe, quiet neighbourhood close to the ocean, trails and popular spots. Right from the beginning our hostess Jennifer was awesome. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable and it have everything you needed (except for a microwave), otherwise it was perfect! She even had a Christmas decoration on the door and a cute little tree as well.

My friend and I really enjoyed staying at this beautiful and peaceful property. It was quite clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed drinking my coffee in the quiet garden setting each morning. We would definitely stay there again if we return to this area. I appreciate it the host efforts to encourage recycling and resource management. I also enjoyed meeting our host family, including their dog.

This is one of the nicest vacation rentals I ever stayed at. My friend, her dog and I had a wonderful time. The suite was very clean, spacious and well equipped with everything one might need. Being so dog friendly was an extra bonus for us. We definitely will come back again

Enjoyed the location, small but interesting community with a strong west coast history. Convenient to a small, local market, the ferry terminal to Denman & Hornby Island. A 20 minute drive into Comox. The suite is on the lower level of the house thus the lighting isn't great, the main area and kitchen had subdued natural light from the windows during the day with poor lighting at night. The beds were comfortable, the bedrooms were roomy with adequate storage for clothing. It is a short walk to the ocean. There were 3 electric charging stations a 5 minute walk away from the house, this was very useful for our electric vehicle, we didn't expect to have these so close. Overall it was a comfortable stay. I loved the roses that lined the front walkway, the smell was wonderful!

We stayed 3 nights with our dog. Hosts were great about giving our wary-of-strangers dog the space he needed. We had everything for simple cooking in the suite, maybe could've used a microwave for even simpler meals while on vacation. A bit of noise from upstairs but overall a great place to stay in a quiet seaside town. Easy access to Courtenay for all things needed and quick trip to Buckley Bay to spend a day on the nearby islands. Great trails nearby with maps and info provided by the hosts too!

Really liked the accommodation - comfortable and clean. A microwave would have been a welcome addition but otherwise well equipped. Some confusion in communicating with the owner since my husband booked for me. Also VRBO doesn't allow direct communication with the owner until full payment is made. Don't enjoy VRBO's practice of advertising a price which is almost doubled by the time extra fees are added in.

Overall our experience was good, the place is as advertised. It was a large space and set up well. The only issue we had was on Sunday morning - after we actually got to stay up on Saturday night - their toddler was running on the floor right above the bedroom at 7am!!! They have other floors their child could play on but instead they had him run and play right above our heads! It was very annoying and disturbing- not a nice way to wake up. When people rent a Vrbo they are on their vacation time and don’t need a toddler waking them up by running all over the floor above the bedroom. For that reason I would not stay there again.
Overall our experience was good, the place is as advertised. It was a large space and set up well. We were very comfortable with the Hatton House guest suite. It is clean and well equipped with a very functional kitchen. The two bedrooms are compact,one with a queen bed, and the other with two twin beds.The bedding linens/duvets/pillows are all very nice. We loved that the suite is private, fully fenced and dog friendly, and the garden is lovely with lots of seating areas. The owners are very responsive and friendly, but give you your privacy.There are many interesting dog off leash trails in close proximity, and Union Bay is in a perfect mid Island location for lots of road trips to other towns and villages and beaches. We were very happy with our stay here, and would highly recommend.

We had a very enjoyable mini break at Hatton House. Comfortable quiet and good location for or stay. Everything you need is supplied. Jenny is the perfect host. Looking forward to coming back again.

Hatton House Guest Suite provided the perfect getaway. Peaceful and Comfortable with everything you need. We found the location perfect and so close to exploring many options ~ Denman & Hornby Islands, Campbell River, Courtenay/Comox - plenty of options for outdoor activity. We tried a couple of the eating options suggested by Jenny and they did not disappoint. Roys Pub and Royston Roasting Coffee House were 2 of our favourites. We highly recommend.

Island Getaway is wonderful - spotlessly clean, comfortable and conveniently located in a safe, quiet neighbourhood close to the ocean, trails and popular spots. Jenny has thought of everything to make the suite welcoming and comfy. The beds and pillows are wonderful! We enjoyed our breakfast outside in the beautiful garden. It was nice to have Netflix in the evenings. I really appreciated Jenny’s prompt and reliable communication and the easy check-in process. Thank you so much!

Right from the beginning our hostess Jennifer was awesome. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable and it have everything you needed (except for a microwave), otherwise it was perfect! She even had a Christmas decoration on the door and a cute little tree as well.

Very convenient location and the weather was very hot but the suite was nice and cool for sleeping and relaxing after biking. Jenny provided us with secure storage for our bikes and suggested restaurants and grocery stores. We had use of the yard so we could eat outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. I would definitely stay here again.

We had an great stay at this property near Comox on Vancouver Island. The house was spacious and well-equipped for our family of four, plus our dog. It was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.The property itself was incredibly pet-friendly, with a fully enclosed yard where our dog could run around safely. Enjoyed the location, small but interesting community with a strong west coast history. Convenient to a small, local market, the ferry terminal to Denman & Hornby Island. A 20 minute drive into Comox. The suite is on the lower level of the house thus the lighting isn't great, the main area and kitchen had subdued natural light from the windows during the day with poor lighting at night. The beds were comfortable, the bedrooms were roomy with adequate storage for clothing. It is a short walk to the ocean. There were 3 electric charging stations a 5 minute walk away from the house, this was very useful for our electric vehicle, we didn't expect to have these so close. Overall it was a comfortable stay. I loved the roses that lined the front walkway, the smell was wonderful!

We had a great stay in this suite in a heritage home that was moved to Union Bay from Vancouver. An amazing feat! Very clean with a comfortable bed and well stocked kitchen. My only recommendation would be to have a Nespresso machine for guests. I loved the location in Union Bay; just a short drive to Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland. Also close to Qualicum Beach. My dog and I really enjoyed walking at the Royston Seaside Trail. If you enjoy finding coffee shops, you’re in luck. So many in the area!

The suite was clean and cozy. Check-in was very easy and owner was easy to communicate with, always responding quickly. The property was very nice with beautiful flowers and a short distance to the water. We found it to ba a good location as home base while doing daytrips to visit differents parks even on the west coast of the island. Couldn't be more pleased with my choice in accommodation.

We really enjoyed the suite. It was clean, modern and comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen. We appreciated the laundry after Beach days and the kids toys was an added bonus. Location is quiet and central if you plan to explore the Comox Valley and/or access to Buckley Bay.

Our family had a lovely stay at the Hattan House. We enjoyed the beautiful garden entrance and comfortable living area. The natural wood decor throughout is gorgeous. We also loved the proximity to the ocean and to Comox. An overall great place to stay!

My third or fourth time staying here, and always a great place to relax and use as a base for walks along the shore. It's increasingly rare to find a place friendly for bigger dogs, and the fully fenced yard means my old dogs can sit outside and sun themselves without being tempted to chase the local rabbits.

Nice, very clean and comfy suite in a lovely heritage home with nice garden. Quiet area but we felt that neighbourhood wasn't the best for walking if going for evening stroll or dog walk although there is a field close by to throw ball for a bit. Disappointed with no view from property for guests. I misunderstood the pics I think and the view in listing pic is upstairs which hosts have. Jenny was very nice and helpful and brought out a fire table which was appreciated to enjoy the evenings. Good central location.
