October 2025:I stayed at the MidTown Hotel for 3 nights. BE ADVISED: currently, this hotel is a construction site. (When all the work is done, it will likely be quite nice). LOUD construction work begins on Sats.at 8:00 a.m. / Suns., 9:00 a.m. PROS: The finished room I was in was clean, quiet. Beds are good. Shower water pressure, good. CONS: BIGGIE: NO WiFi IN THE ROOM. I had WiFi connection in the lobby, the elevator and the hallway. The moment I crossed the threshhold into my room - it disappeared. I spoke to a young man at reception. He said yes, they have heard from guests that they're not getting WiFi in the rooms, and the hotel has discovered they need "to put in another tower". When I requested a price accommodation because of this, he said they couldn't do that, because the internet is working. (Even tho he had conceded the internet is not working). A ridiculous statement. Frustrating in the extreme. They advertise free WiFi in every room. NOT TRUE. • I have traveled solo all over the world, staying in a variety of places, but another "con": at night the doors of MANY of the rooms currently being renovated were left open & completely dark inside. As a woman alone, returning to my room late at night, this was unsettling and a little creepy. I didn't feel 100% safe. • The front desk staff seems to be inexperienced college kids, doing their best, but chaotic, poor communication skills, not professionals. I would urge others: SAVE YOUR MONEY stay elsewhere.

We were not informed that the whole hotel was under construction. We were also not informed the hotel did not have heat or hot water. The front desk attendant howeve, was very kind and friendly and managing all the unhappy guests very lovely. We were reimbursed after hotels verified with Midtown about the conditions.

Easy onsite parking

It was a great short term stay being a young/fit person. However, my mom came to watch me compete and not having an elevator available was tough on her. Also, there was a lot of construction going on (specifically on the second floor where I was staying), so walking on plastic, having painters tape on the door, limited accessibility to the rooms wasn’t ideal. It would’ve been nice if there could’ve been a discount on my stay or even allow my mom to park for free for the night since there was so much going on with hotel makeovers. The pillows were comfortable though!

Under counstruction, must walk through construction and wet paint. Elevator not working and not ADA friendly as there are multiple flights of stairs. Staff was not helpful unless threatened by calling their supervisor. I do not reccomend this hotel.

If I had known the hotel’s construction was not completed I would never have booked it. We had no heat and it rained several days. We were told that the heat would be turned on October 15 the day before we were leaving, but it never was. We were freezing most of the time.One morning we had no hot water. Part of the carpeting was torn up and the concrete was very tacky that stuck to our shoes. The elevator only had plywood on the walls and no carpeting. To get up to the first floor, from the front desk,you had to walk up eight steps with your suitcases. This was very difficult as I have had a knee replacement. After two days of not having our room cleaned, we had to ask them to empty the trash and give us clean towels. they would occasionally replenish our coffee, but not the cups or sugars. We always had to ask the front desk for it. We were not told that there was coffee and muffins available and only noticed when we walked down one time at 8:30. even though we paid over 3000 when we booked it on hotels.com I noticed one day during our stay that I was charged again by the hotel for 500 dollars less. I did contact hotels.com and now I see that the charge by the hotel has been removed. there are many other problems, but I am running out of letters so I definitely feel this hotel should not be open until construction is completed. We both were highly disappointed. I do feel that I am entitled to at least a partial refund or only be charged what the hotel would have charged.

Supposedly remodeled room has so many unfinished items bathroom door sticks, difficult to open and close. No towel hangers by sink. Really bad finishes wonder if this was done by permit? Windows have condensation single pane cold. Several dips in floor uneven. Popcorn ceiling has been removed and replaced possible asbestos. Hope it was tested. Furnace vents filthy and extremely loud when turned on. Absolutely there is no way they have not gotten a permit or Certificate of Occupancy no construction permits posted anywhere in building. Dry wall and painting going on all over the hotel loud and very noisy. Everything out of order in main lobby bathrooms ice machine and signs do not touch wet walls. Sounds from room above abnormally loud. Possibly the contractors are sleeping there working 24/7? Will be calling the City of Boston to verify. This hotel should not be open it’s a complete shambles and all that were there should receive a refund. Simply not a hotel anyone would ever want to stay in. Will be expecting a FULL REFUND

Rooms were quiet and clean, Even though there is ongoing construction renovating part of the hotel. parking is easy and efficient and incredibly more reasonably priced than any parking in the area. best bang for the buck.

None of the information I saw about the hotel mentioned that it is undergoing very extensive renovation right now. There was dust, construction debris everywhere. Sheets of plastic covering the floor in the corridor. Banging, power tools going all day. One afternoon the water was shut off. The public bathroom in the lobby was out of order. The hotel is actually very nice, but it should not be open until the construction is finished. Until then, STAY AWAY!

We were not told they were remodeling. When they finish it will be lovely. At time of stay our room was nice but hallways and common areas were a mess.

After reading the older reviews about renovation issues I was apprehensive about staying here...but..... The renovation has been completed, and the place is spotless!! Yes, the rooms are still in the older style layout, but everything is brand new. I was more than satisfied with the room, the cleanliness and especially the staff. They were all very courteous and always helpful. This place is a very good deal. Don't hesitate to stay here. -

Staffs are friendly, clean and neat room. Comfortable hotel!

The room was very clean and comfortable. There was some room for staff service. There was no housekeeping at the 3rd day of my stay which makes me a bit wonder why. Other than that, it was a very satisfactory stay for my needs.

The location is fantastic--a 5 minute walk from Hynes Convention Center and all the hotels surrounding it. The room itself was very spacious and clean, with a good bed. Pleasant staff. Miniscule, closet-like bathroom. The walls are paper-thin, so that if a couple has a fight next door at 3 a.m., or people in the hallway are rowdy at midnight, one hears every word. Whatever their policy says, they don't make up the room each day unless you ask at the desk. Having said that, if we want to be frugal, and need to stay in Back Bay again, we'd probably go back.

Key almost never worked. TV didn’t work after multiple requests to look at. Room had peeling paint, stained carpet and constant smell from people smoking cigarettes and weed outside the building.

Firstly the room was actually clean and spacious, now for the negatives! No heating, the hotel is under full renovation and it reflects on this, big tubs of plaster in the corridor, bare floors, danger keep out signs in certain areas. Not what we thought we would have to pay so much for to stay there. Very dissapointed, had to ask for hot water and some breakfast in the reception area as none out on the side table. Sure when its been renovated it will look a lot better, but for our visit it wasn't great! Only stayed one night thankfully.

Was very bare, no water to drink in the room. No silverware or glasses or plates. The TV didn’t work. The AC didn’t cool enough and was hard to read the dial. The price was good relatively but still at almost $400+ per night would’ve expected better. No gym too.

Room quiet and ac is working fine

The staff right from check in were incredibly warm and friendly, and stayed that way throughout our stay. I know they are working on a complete overhaul of the property so things weren't exactly 100% during our stay but that was fine. We had an issue a couple of nights with loud neighbors keeping us awake but both times the front desk shut it down quickly with no issues.

The staff, from an original phone call, with a question, until check out could not have been more amazing. Personable, professional, friendly, and enthusiastic are just of the few ways I would describe them. From the moment we arrived until we left we were engaged in an amazing way. We loved Betsy Lynn at the desk and her colleague, Vereema. Next time I am Boston we will choose to stay at the Midtown for the staff alone, although the beds and room were extremely comfortable. I cannot wait to see the finished renovation.

The hotel manager didn’t explain what is the incidental fees are for and the hotel rate he quoted was way off from their own official website! Sounds like scam

The staff went above and beyond for my family! We had a vehicle that was too tall for most parking garages in Boston and they took the time to help us research where we could find overnight parking! Would highly recommend! They are also fully renovating so the hotel is nice and clean! Staff were amazing!!!! Ps make sure your vehicle is 6” or under because if not parking is difficult in Boston

The room was spacious and clean. The staff went out of their way to help us in every way the location was absolutely great close to what we needed. They are renovating the hotel so it will be way better in the future

Perfect location

The Midtown Hotel was comfortable with friendly staff and we had a good stay for one night. Walking distance to Fenway Park and a place to park our car was key.

Everything about this place was awesome! Cleanliness, staff, location! We will stay here again on our next adventure in town!

I hate to give it any bad feedback. The staff was super amazing. I mean they were over the top nice and accommodating. It is getting completely renovated as of September 2025. During our stay the elevator wasnt working and they were actively renovating. So, some mornings weren't so quiet. The Boston Fire Department showed up a couple of times. It's only a 2-story hotel, so the non-working elevator wasn't that big of a deal, but it wasn't perfect. That weekend we were moving our daughter into her 3rd floor apartment with no elevator. So, we would get back and moan and complain and laugh amongst ourselves as we drug ourselves up the 3 flights of stairs to the 2nd floor. The price was great and the location was excellent. After the renovation is done, i wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

I discovered The Midtown Hotel during my trip to Boston and was amazed by its great value! With an average rate of just $200 per night, I initially expected a less ideal location or outdated facilities, but it exceeded my expectations. The subway station is only a 3 minute walk away, and most attractions are within 30 minutes. A special shout-out to Jonas at the front desk—his warm and welcoming service truly made my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for budget-conscious travelers who don’t want to compromise on convenience and quality!
