Comfort Inn JFK Airport

It is an airport hotel which lists an hourly "airport shuttle" service. When I arrived I was informed that the 8AM shuttle for the next morning was sold out. They said they had a flat-rate taxi service of $20. I signed up for an 8AM taxi. In the morning I was informed it was $25, though after a complaint they agreed to do it for $20. However, when I arrived at the airport in the taxi, the driver informed me it was $28, and refused to budge. Overall, very annoying for an "airport hotel". The room also had a series of minor annoyances, only one of which was serious, but which together made for an annoying experience: 1) drip from ceiling A/C vent in middle of room; 2) towel hook on wall in bathroom had apparently fallen off and not been replaced; 3) there was no waste basket in the bathroom; 4) the digital clock in the room was off by 50 minutes; 5) window shade was out of its slot so would not close all of the way; 6) at breakfast, orange-juice dispenser dispensed yellowish water. Again, only one of these is a serious issue (the drip), but overall shows a lack of attention to details.

Limited parking, no off load area

Convenient location and hourly shuttle to JFK. There is no parking available, so if you have a car you would need luck to get street parking. Area around the hotel looked a little dirty, but the hotel itself was great. The day we were there there was a building issue where the elevators were down for an hour or so and could not get the air conditioning in our room to turn on. The staff was really great and let us move to another room and also provided us a late checkout. Would recommend for anybody needing a place near JFK with a free airport shuttle.

Useful for what it is, somewhere to stay close to the airport. They have a free shuttle, but don't make it very known that there is a fixed amount of spots and once they fill up, you're out of luck for that hourly transport. If you plan on using the shuttle, perhaps you can call ahead of your stay and reserve the hour you want to depart. Otherwise, you need to take some other transport (as we did).

I booked this hotel for July 25, 2025, expecting a safe and convenient stay after a long international flight with my infant. Unfortunately, the shuttle service stopped at 10:45 PM, which was not clearly disclosed at booking. I arrived after midnight at JFK and was left stranded with no transport or assistance from the hotel. I couldn’t even reach the property I had already paid for. Very disappointing and misleading — I would not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling late at night.

The hotel was advertised to provide "free shuttle to airport" which is why we chose it. In reality, the shuttle only runs ONCE AND HOUR and if it is full you are out of luck. We had to call an Uber and PAY $28 to get to the airport and nearly missed out flight. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. Deceptive advertising for an airport hotel. Also, it is right next to the garbage truck parking lot and it STINKS and is noisy.

Booked for shuttle service and shuttle was full

It was very convenient to fly into JFK, get a shuttle to the hotel, get some rest, and then shuttle back to JFK for the rental car. Everyone was pleasant when we checked in and out. I’m glad I checked the hotel for a parking lot. There is no parking on site and parking is hard to find in the neighborhood.

Convenient to JFK. No shuttle past 11 pm. Odd as they remain open for check in 24/7. JFK air train is a nightmare at 2 am.

Pros. Clean room daily Cons. Sucks no street parking at all. Bugs n the shower.

I stayed here because I needed to be near JFK Airport for a flight during the government shutdown. The room was spotless, the check-in staff was courteous, breakfast was sufficient and the van was very punctual in departing on the hour for the airport. Thank you so much.

Sanitation facility located directly across the street from hotel and smelled really bad. There were knatts coming out of drain in shower. There was a leak in the ac vent in ceiling dripping water down and made a loud sound all night.

Place was very clean and and rooms were very updated. Also was nice that they had a little set up in main area where you could order things like wings, casadias burgers etc and get a beer or glass or wine and just sit and relax. Also was excellent at keeping you informed about their complementary shuttle to and from airport which went smoothly. I would definitely stay again.

Good stay for one night, the vent was leaking.

I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. My room was very clean and comfortable. The white sheets and towels were stain free and in great shape. Beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The walls looked freshly painted and the bathroom was beautifully tiled. I would definitely stay here again. The only negative would be the lobby and elevator carpets could use an update.

The carpets in the hall smell smokey. The hotel was otherwise clean and near the airport.

Close to airport with convenient shuttle. Very loud though. There were children sitting in the hallway and the room next to our children’s room had loud yelling and banging. The elevator would drop a few inches when getting out and in our children’s room, the shower drain didn’t drain causing water to come into the bathroom. The rooms were clean but hallways filthy.

We needed a last minute stay for 2 nights before flying back home. The room was comfortable for my niece and I, but probably a bit crowded for 4 people. No chair, only a stool to sit on similar to a foot stool. Bed was comfortable. Had a vending of beer and wine and an atm machine. Our view was over the sanitation department property.

We asked the receptionist the best way to travel to NYC and she had no clue. The room is a lot smaller than it appears in photos.

A suprisingly good property! Up to date in every way. Clean throughout and excellent staff. My only complaint is the hallway doors are quite loud. I would stay again as the room is comfortable, with good mattress and pillows.

It was just ok .. Close to the airport and free shuttle being points in favour. It was clean . Unfortunately our room (313) was right by the lift and was so noisy we got hardly any sleep . Windows do not cut out much of the traffic noise of busy road outside .

Check-in was a breeze—the front desk staff were friendly and efficient, making the arrival process seamless. The room itself was clean and comfortable, offering a cozy space to unwind after a day out. However, one noticeable area for improvement was noise insulation. The doors didn’t do much to muffle sounds from the hallway, and I was occasionally disturbed by conversations and foot traffic outside the room. Installing better soundproofing would really enhance the overall sense of peace and privacy. Despite that, the stay was enjoyable and the service was solid. With just a few tweaks, this hotel could go from good to great.

I had requested a wake-up call for 7:00 AM, but unfortunately, I did not receive one. Additionally, the air conditioning unit was very noisy, making it difficult to fall asleep. On top of that, noise from the adjacent room—including talking and laughter—continued until around 1:00 AM, which further disrupted my rest. Overall, the property was clean and well-maintained. The nightly rate was significantly overpriced. This hotel is, at best, a 3-star property.

Arrived at 1 PM and was offered early check-in at the rate of $40. I declined and waited in the lobby for an hour and a half and they gratefully allowed us to check in at 2:30 into our room. The room was small but it was clean. Toiletries were limited. The room was very humid, despite trying to cool it down. The noise level was probably the hardest part about the room. Planes were going over every couple minutes and the traffic on the side street was very loud. You could hear chatter in the hallways throughout the night. Walls feel very thin.

Room was small, but extremely clean with great shower and comfortable bed. We took an Uber from Jfk and hotel shuttle back (went once every hour). Breakfast was basic. Staff worked efficiently and organized, everything was in order.

There are no complaints at all. All of the staff were super nice and helpful. They went above and beyond in all areas to ensure that my family and I were taken care of. I really appreciate everyone and would definitely stay here again.

Unfriendly staff at desk and shuttle to airport.

Will never stay here again. AC did not work in our room. We reduced the temperature to sleep at around 10:30 pm but even by 1 am the temperate had not dropped. I wasn't getting sleep because it was too hot and my toddler was rolling around restless in the heat. I tried opening the window and it wouldn't open. I called front desk to help and the manager clearly didn't care about working there. There was nobody to come and help and so I was offered to move to a new room. Problem is it was 1 am, we had spread our stuff all over the room and bathroom and moving everything would be a just too much work at that time. The manager said he doesn't have a bell boy and rudely said "And I am not coming up to move your stuff". I politely asked if he can just allow us to just sleep in the other room so we don't have to move all our stuff and anyway they won't be giving this to anyone in the AC not working state. Got a blunt and rude "I can't do that" as an answer. Basically, we should all wake up, including the toddler, repack all our stuff, move our own bags and go to another room in the middle of the night - but the hotel doesn't care that their AC doesn't work and won't help in any reasonable way. I would have fired that front desk manager if he worked for me - I even got a "It's not my room, its the hotel's" at one point. Barely slept that night.

My stay was nice. Anita the representative at check out was very accommodating and helpful. She went way beyond her job to make our stay from a long trip comfortable and easy. Great employee.

8/8/25 visit. Shuttle all booked. The place needs to run an additional van. It was unavailable again when I stayed 8/7/25. On first visit 8/8/25 Called front desk for scheduled wake up call. the two women at the front desk shot me down by denying I made the request. “Nope that just couldn’t be. We don’t didn’t get a call.” Wouldn’t it have been scheduled by the evening person? We could have missed our flight

Please don't book with this hotel or any other comfort inn. They have the worst customer service. I would have given them 0 stars if possible. I booked a room for one night at Comfort Inn, JFK for my parents. However, it was the worst mistake. My parents went to sleep without dinner because the receptionist was rude and refused to help. My parents were provided a menu card from a nearby restaurant to order food but the phone lines were not going through. When they requested the receptionist to help, he refused and asked them to keep trying. They were unable to pay with their international credit cards (which have worked in every country except the US) on food delivery apps. But the cold receptionist refused to help and asked them to keep trying to call a number that was not going through. He did not offer to call the restaurant or help in any way. I could not help my parents because I was in a flight and couldn't take their calls. But when I heard about how they went without dinner, I was very upset. The next day, I called the hotel, but the receptionist (a different lady this time) hung up on me. If you work in customer service, you have to care about your customers. Try to help them at least. Everyone in this hotel is rude and obnoxious. We have traveled the world but have never faced such terrible customer service. Needless to say, I am never booking with Comfort Inn ever again. I urge Expedia to remove Comfort Inn from their hotel listings.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. We were happy with the room and the overall stay was great!

We were delayed on our flight and concerned we wouldn't be able to check in. I called and Cassandra immediately answered. She was super friendly and helpful. When we arrived, she was helping other guests and handled everyone with hospitality. Cassandra is a GEM!

not great neighborhood surroundings

This accommodation is perfect for a long layover or to break up a long journey, as was our case returning from Europe and heading to Hawaii. The location is pretty terrible, there is no walking around, but the free hotel shuttle is timely, the staff is super friendly, the takeout food menus are good (we ordered Chinese, very good!) and the breakfast is staffed by a lovely attendant (she prepped the waffles!). The room is clean and the bathroom is quite nice and contemporary. Enjoyed the shower immensely. There were some ants in the room, but honestly not a big deal.

The hotel is located across the street from a sanitation department with garbage trucks, garages and a huge mound of salt for the roads but it is convenient to JFK Airport and its shuttle service is very helpful. The entire staff was exceptionally helpful and polite.

Free JFK shuttle was good but there is nothing to do or anywhere to go eat nearby. Location is on the flight path, right next to the dump/plow truck yard.

Great hotel. Convenient shuttle service and friendly receptionists! They're helpful, and if you have a question about the area or anything, they're happy to help! The bus stop is literally right outside the front door. The planes are right above the hotel, but you can't hear them at all inside. I'll definitely be back.

We took an Uber to the hotel, as the shuttle only runs once an hour and we didn’t want to wait. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but then the whole area around JFK is industrial. There is a Subway Sandwich Shop just a few blocks away if you want to walk somewhere for dinner. The hotel is being updated and our room was fine. Breakfast is just ok, a lot of prepackaged stuff, although they did have a waffle maker. We arrived before the 3pm check in so we were charged $40 for early access to our room.

This was a great one night stay. Very close to airport only 10 minutes away with free airport shuttle. Free continental breakfast. Room was very comfortable as well.

We stayed here on a stop over in New York. Hotel is close to JFK and has a shuttle bus to / from the hotel that was punctual and the driver was really helpful. We had a late check in and found the receptionist to be very polite and check in process was very smooth. Our room was fine with no issues at all. We enjoyed the breakfast that set us up for our day sightseeing. No issues recommending this hotel.

After a long international trip it was a perfect ending. Wonderful shuttle pick up and drop off, close to the airport! Comfortable bed, great bedding, sheets, etc. Bathroom was very clean, looks like it had been remodeled. Very modern, great shower head, the bathroom mirror had lighting embedded around the entire mirror. The breakfast in the morning was an added bonus. The only slightly negative would be there weren't an restaurants near this hotel for dinner. The menu the hotel offers for a dinner plate is more like appetizers. Highly recommend this hotel for overnight stay In between flights.

Free shuttle to JFK every hour and it was on time. It was clean and staff was cordial. I liked the free included breakfast (but please set up at least 2x waffle makers, as there was only 1 and it was always in use).

First l want to give a BIG shout out and a ⭐️ to Alex for great service at check-in. He was pleasant and polite, very helpful and ensured that the process was completed first. The room was newly and tastefully renovated, super clean and spacious. There was enough towels including face clothes (another good to have). The shuttle to and from JFK was prompt, the driver was courteous and engaged well and tremendously helpful. My only concern is the breakfast, please consider having it out for those leaving at 6am can also grab and go. Overall, this hotel is a gem and l highly recommend it for overnight stay or for long flight layover. Oh l should also mention that they provide beverages I.e coffee and hot water for tea or hot chocolate. It was amazing 🤩. Book your stay and be sure to tell others about your wonderful experience!
