The hotel was in a great location near shopping and food. The room was clean, the view was pretty especially outside. The pool was a glorified bathtub with little to no seating around it- not sure what kind of swimming you can do in that tiny of an area. Breakfast was great.

Newer hotel and very large room with two large TVs. Nice amenities in the room and hotel including a fitness center and pool. There are three Marriott hotels sharing a large parking area and all look to have been built at the same time.

The hotel was clean and quiet given a very busy weekend for local events. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was diverse. The pool was freezing cold, which was unfortunate as it’s part of the reason we selected the hotel (to enjoy the pool).

This was our first time staying at The Fairfield by Marriott and I will definitely stay at this hotel again. I knew it was a newer hotel and it had good reviews so I thought we’d give it a try. We usually stay at a different hotel in this same area but unfortunately it was not being tended to and we did not fully enjoy our last 2 trips. I requested early check in on the app and when I arrived at 1:30 they were able to accommodate me. Check in and out were quick and easy and staff was friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. We liked the beds and pillows and the decorated shade on the window was a nice touch. I went to the free breakfast for coffee and there was the regular assortment of drinks and food and there was also a nice woman attending to the food and chatting with guests. The hotel is in a very good location and if you’re not skiing then you can attend a movie, shop, or get a bite to eat in the immediate vicinity. I would recommend this Fairfield by Marriott if you’d like a nice stay in Scranton and especially if you’re planning any activities at Montage.

From check in to check out, we found the staff to be unhelpful, unprofessional and rude. We were charged $100 as a “pet fee” for one dog, which is way above the average cost of traveling with a pet. We booked a king suite and the room we were given had a running toilet in it and on the first flush, water gushed up and over the toilet bowl, flooding the floor and adjacent carpet. They had zero maintenance staff on-site and offered to move us to a regular room with two beds. We asked if they would refund the difference of the room rates and they refused. This was all at the end of a long day of traveling, and they told us if we wanted a refund, we would have to check out and take it up with the manager the following day. The property is in poor condition and the same garbage in the hallways remained our stay, showing a total lack of basic cleaning procedures. We will never stay at this hotel again.

The hotel was pretty clean, but the room needed dusting (there was hair on surfaces from previous guests), but the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. The tV in my room wasnt working (maintenance hadnt properly set it up, and Id discovered it late), but it was a quick cable fix.

Had to call front desk to have them get their stuff. Took them about 15 minutes. I ended up putting everything outside in the hallway. Breakfast was mediocre, I expected better.

The hotel is pretty new, so everything is in nice condition. Our room and bathroom were very clean. The TV was a smart TV, so we were able to connect to and stream shows rather than having to use cable. The front desk women were both welcoming and friendly. I'd definitely stay here again!

We loved our room so much that we stayed here twice, once on our trip to Maine and then returning to Florida. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Two large TVs and a sofa to relax on were appreciated after a long drive. Plus, the area was beautiful!

The bed was the most comfortable that I've ever slept in at a hotel. And I spent about 30 plus nights this year at hotels. I even pulled back the sheets to see if I could get some information about the bed to possibly buy it for my own personal use. It was that good! The room was very clean. The air conditioning system worked well. The refrigerator was nice and cold. The internet speeds were very good! The only negative in my whole stay was the shower pressure was a little low. The towels were plus sized. I had to stay here due to a power outage in my area. The price was pretty reasonable as well. Very happy with it. Would highly recommend to anybody traveling in this area.

Marvella was an absolute delight, asked what brought us into town and when I told her our NYC trip was cancelled because of weather she upgraded our room to the top floor overlooking the ski resort so we had a nice view. Super sweet and welcoming, funny and explained everything in detail.

Disappointed! Worst Marriott stay I ever had. Upon check in went to shower and found no towels and an empty shower gel container. Called the front desk and was told "that's crazy" and you can come down to the front desk or tell the morning clean up staff. Huh? So the room was not properly prepared and I have to get dressed and come to you ? Or wait until the morning? Appalling customer service. The next day left and came back to a oom that was still not cleaned or restocked . At 3am had to go to the front desk to get towels and soap dtill missing from the first night. Deplorable! Then to top everything off got waken up at 9am by a fire alarm and told to evacuate. Had to jump up and get dressed and run outside to find out it was a false alarm. Well guess I'm going home early!

Staff were friendly and very accomodating when we arrived. So convenient that it's located near shopping center and have various restaurants in a walking distance. My kid loves the breakfast specially the make your own waffle station and had a great time at the pool. Only downside was at night time I witness one client asking for coffee at the dining area the night supervisor brush him off and told him to get the coffee in their room instead of providing him one.
