Dalya Resort Aqua & Spa Hotel Datça

We stayed at Dalya Hotel for 2 nights as a group of 5 people in 3 rooms and paid almost £770. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing and far below the standard we expected. From the moment we arrived, we experienced serious problems. The door to our first room would not open, and despite reporting it to reception, we were simply told that there were no other rooms available. The following day, my father was unable to enter his room because the door stopped working again. Even after receiving a new key card, the door still would not open. A technician was eventually sent, but we were asked to remain in the room while the problem was being dealt with, which caused us to be late for our dinner reservation. In another room, my wife became locked inside the bathroom. We immediately contacted reception, but the replacement key card they provided was also incorrect and did not work. We had to contact housekeeping ourselves while she was still locked inside. The room door was never properly fixed during our stay, so we had to leave it unlocked for the rest of our stay, which is completely unacceptable from a safety perspective. There were also other problems: the air conditioning did not work properly, some beds were damaged, bathroom water was not draining properly, and even basic amenities such as shampoo and soap were missing. The biggest disappointment was the lack of professional management and urgency from reception and maintenance.

The otel was just perfect for everything. Actually, they mistakenly given me the wrong room, but i explained my special occasion and the manager and her assistants has given every bit of their effort to correct the situation. That was something i couldn't forget. So I'll come again.

Very friendly staff. Kids had a great time at the slides and with the animator. Staff were attentive. Rooms are clean. As hotel is on a cliff top, car is needed to get around.

The hotel is very smart and clean. The staff were polite and friendly. The food was varied and plentiful. It doesn't predominantly cater for Brits but Google Translate solved any communication issues adequately. We were there late in the season (October) so the hotel wasn't anywhere near full but a tour party with 4 coaches arrived one afternoon which gave an idea of how it would be in the height of the summer. The restaurant was full when we went for Dinner. It would have been better if they had someone in the door stopping more people from entering and forming a queue when there were no more free tables. We went to the lobby, had a beer, waited 45 minutes and then successfully tried again. There was still an adequate quantity and selection of food available. The hotel is on the outskirts of the town, set on a hillside which gives it excellent views of down to the bay 1km away but it does mean steep roads up to it.

The experience was expected. Good food; good environment and too many children. I would advise if you are a family
