Tru by Hilton North Richland Hills DFW West

The indoor pool was freezing cold, that’s why I didn’t give them a 5 star rating and yes that’s what matters to me, I chose a hotel with an indoor pool for a reason.

The pool had very slippery tiles directly around the pool area and I slipped and fell and got a bruise on my right hip and left shin. I had to be a bridesmaid the next day and had to get make up coverage for it.

Modern decor, clean, great fitness center, work spaces

I was a little frustrated with checking in later than my time due to room not being ready. The only other issue I had was their car charging stations outside their building were not working. This made me have to drive to another spot to charge our car and sit there for an hour to rapid charge.

We love local and we’re having plumbing work at our house. I picked this hotel because my 4yo son loves to swim and it advertised that it was a heated pool. After breakfast we were told maintenance was being completed at the pool and to try again in an hour. We waited an hour called the front desk and she said it was still being worked on then we waited another hour and she said maintenance was finished but would take a a few hours for the pool to be heated to a proper temperature. So later in evening we went down and it was ice cold. Such a disappointment. I did like the aesthetics and overall decor and vibe. The staff was friendly. A few things about the layout of the room. Wall had some damage by the front door. The bathroom was huge but it was an handicap room. There was no coffee maker or closet. It was an open concept closet with the refrigerator underneath. This was a little annoying. The bed was comfy and decor was bright an airy. Not sure I’d stay or recommend this location again.

Check-in was a breeze. Front desk attendant was very nice and helpful. The good: very clean hotel, coffee area 24/7. Choice of snacks to purchase was excellent. Room was clean. Parking was great, well lit at night. Felt like area was safe. The bad: HORRIBLE water pressure in shower. I didn’t wash my hair because I would’ve had to stay under the trickle for probably 30 minutes. It was beyond horrible. The bed was ok comfortable, the pillows were just meh. The food for breakfast was ok but not one pastry available that we’re used to seeing in a breakfast buffet. Would I recommend or stay again? No

Comfortable, clean and convenient to our destination. Only complaint was the indoor pool wasn’t heated and the water was too cold for swimming.

The property has a whiteboard across from the elevator and it had the popular dining, shopping and entertainment options for the area. This property is also a great spot for families…games galore.

Fun atmosphere. Rockin soap and shampoo dispensers. Fun lobby with great game choice and fun seating. Yummy breakfast. Just need the pool heater to work. It was too cold to swim in.

I LOVED your Peloton friendly fitness center, your water and coffee station and the breakfast area! The room was amazing too.

Horrible at best. We got here and first room they gave us was nasty dirty and urine all over bathroom floor. They then changed us to another room 4th floor also and it to was nasty and nail clippings all over the bathroom floor. There's no bureaus for belongings and all of the doors in the hotel shut loud and hard so you hear it all night long. we also had the pleasure of a dog on our floor non stop barking. Our toilet is broken and doesn't want to flush and you have to open the tank and play with the float to get it to fill then every so often it works on its own when no one using it. No water pressure in the shower, very dirty shower. This place is like 6 months old and complete trash. There were lights and wires hanging in the elevator, wall paper peeling all over the place. I am at a loss, we travel often and we always use the Hilton brand as it generally always serves us well but not this time by far. The attitude we got when we were asked how our room was and we were honest about it was just the icing on top. Even after being serviced three times during our stay nothing was cleaned. Couldn't be more disappointed at this utterly disgusting experience, Merry Christmas to us

I always stay at Tru but this one was dirty.

The entire facility was clean, not just the room. Staff was very friendly. I checked in at 1130 pm and still was as friendly as if i was there at 3pm. Great job!! Will HIGHLY recommend.

For a newer hotel it was pretty dirty. Had to change sheets when we got there because ours were dirty, bathroom was dirty and shower curtain stained. I always go over everything with a lysol wipe and the wipe was brown after wiping. The lobby/hallways were so hot and musty. Elevator was filthy. Pool is unheated currently. Breakfast was not good. This was probably the worst Tru we've stayed at and normally we are always happy with them.

We booked 4 nights. The room we were put in had a horrible smell like a wet animal or something. It was really bad. We asked to be moved and were told there were no other rooms available until the next day and they would go clean the room again. Cleaning did not remove whatever the smell was, but we were stuck in that room for two nights. The next day, we again asked to be moved, they sent us to the room next to the smelly room, and it also had the same disgusting wet animal smell. So, they gave us another room, but it was a king bed (we originally had two queens) but we said the king was fine. While we were gone for the day, they sent someone into our new room and moved all of our belongings back into the 2nd stinky room again and called to tell us we couldn’t have the king room because they were booked. So, in the middle of our day, we had to return to the hotel and once again, go to the smelly room and move our things into yet another room. I don’t know what in the world that smell was in two rooms, but it was disgusting. We also felt it was unacceptable for someone to take our personal belongings out of our room. We will never stay at this place again.

Cleanest hotel I have stayed in in quite awhile. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was very good.

Heard stomping and running all night. Walls are thin, you can hear every step on floors abd doors opening and closing.

The rooms have no soundproofing and the quiet hours are not respected. The first night I had to move rooms because of a women screaming for an hour at midnight. The next night children were running up and down the hall till 130am along with a birthday party I could hear through the air vents. I got barely enough sleep and I was intown for a funeral.

The walls were very thin and it was very noisy. I really wish the room had a microwave because I have special dietary needs and could not heat up my own food.

Water pressure was awful

Hotel is pretty new everything was clean and the area was nice. Enjoyed our stay. Only small complaints are the room size is a bit small and the breakfast was just ok but overall i would recommend.

This hotel room felt like a college dorm room. There were no closet, no drawers, clothes rack attached to the wall so your clothes would hang over a small counter. There was no microwave and no coffee maker. My lovely wife and I thought we were paying for a hotel room but instead we were housed in a dorm room. Not worth the money we paid but at least it was clean.

The room was beautiful but the shower had very little water pressure no matter how the head was adjusted (3 settings) and they regularly only give 2 full sized towels which is not conducive to a couples needs especially when the woman has long hair. 3 towels needs to be the minimum without causing the couple to ask for additional items.

Only one problem, you can hear everything room to room, upper and down room, and hallways.

Staff was ok. I was surprised there was a mini fridge in the room but no coffee maker or microwave. Probably won’t stay there again for that reason :( grateful there was at least a fridge though!

The staff was fantastic, from the cleaning staff to the women that maintained the breakfast area. I sat in the breakfast area on a Saturday morning for about 2 hours working on my laptop. The woman was quick-and responsive! As food was running low she was quickly replacing and cleaning! Kids made a mess and she just got in and cleaned up all while reassuring what looked like overwhelmed parents that it was okay. She alone made up for my only complaint. My complaint being that we checked in to a very hot room! It was 87 degrees in the room. I called down to the lobby as the ac was not on and I couldn’t get it to turn on. They quickly came out and took care of it. As the receptionist walked in the room she stated “it’s really hot in here”. She got the air on and said give it an hour or so to cool off. Excuse me but we are in Texas in The middle of summer!!! You could have at least turned on the air an hour or so before check in! We were in a hot swamp for a little over an hour. Other than that we had a great stay!!

Dear Manager, At around 5:30 AM, the front desk rang me and made an allegation!! This is not as good customer service, especially from the front desk, and I certainly did not appreciate HIS behavior. I hope you will fix his behavior.

I stay at the Tru by Hilton Coppell location when I come to Dallas a few times a year. I booked at the North Richland location this time because my usual was sold out and I thought I would have the same experience I have at the other location. I was very wrong! My partner and I were racially profiled and accused of smoking when we were literally just waking up. I got into a huge argument with front desk staff following this due to her only targeting our room and not actually looking for the source after we let them into out room and it wasnt us! Management ignored my concerns about the issue. I had to contact Hilton customer service. Fixtures were falling apart in the room, the bathroom door handle fell off and there was a pipe falling out of the wall. Additionally, I asked for paper to use at the front desk and was given a paper with hotel guests person information, first and last names , check out, check in times , room numbers etc. This made me feel very unsafe. I contacted Hilton customer service and was further profiled by the first agent and had to call back to get actual assistance. Stay FAR away from this property or any of these. This entire experience has been a nightmare and put a damper on my significant other's birthday celebration. Spend your money where your business will be appreciated!

House keeping was the best part of the staff. They were always very friendly and polite. Sadly they were more helpful than the rest of the staff. The front desk staff was either extremely rude or they had no idea how to do their job. They billed the wrong card and of course when I called them, which took a couple days because nobody answered the phone, they were rude and said basically it was my problem and I needed to call Hilton to get it fixed. I called Hilton and they apologized and said it was the properties job to fix it. Hilton tried calling the property several times and they didn’t answer so they emailed them and I’m waiting for the general manager to contact me. I have stayed at this property a couple times and it hasn’t gotten any better so we will find another property to stay at in the future.

Angie from the front desk staff is amazing. She was so nice every time I went to the front desk and handled my requests professionally and with a smile. She truly made the difference in our stay.

Clean room, friendly greeting at check in.

Could not get ahold of the hotel directly. Phone just rang and rang and rang. I did not get a receipt. Had to call corporate for that and I was charged an extra day so it was disputed with my bank.

We enjoy staying at Tru, whem we visit the DFW area and we always have the best time! This time, however we had some neighbors that were very intoxicated and fighting and being loud at 1:00 in the morning, we called the front desk and then it got worse! Opening and closong the doors, stomping down the hallways, and to top it off, they bamged on my door #304 and flipped me off I was warching through the peep hole, as I had my sons in the room with me! This is all about 2:00 am now! I am not sire why the front desk told them I was the one who called about a noise complaint, this should have been handled differently! So, we got less sleep than we would have liked after being at the waterpark all day! Other than that situation, we do enjoy staying at TRU and we will be back!

It was conveniently located to where I needed to be. Came for a funeral service. Hotel was clean and safe. Breakfast was good. My only complaint was the common areas had a floral scent that was overpowering.

We were in town for the Dallas Cowboys and didn’t want to spend a lot for a place to sleep. Breakfast was more than enough the place is. Mean and safe. Free parking is also a plus.

Staff is nice. Needs a little better TV set up but pretty good overall. Could put TV on swivel and give Ethernet connection option for consoles. Breakfast is good but not the best. I do enjoy the eggs on the day omelettes are made. Also, where is the cheese ? Need the shredded cheese as an option when scrambled. Pancake machine is cool but slow and a line for quick. A second one or different pancake option could solve this.

Great room layout. Updated. Large bathroom. Well thought out design. Pancake machine was a hit with the kids. Cheese omelet at breakfast was pretty bad though. Their purchase items are too close to the breakfast items for kids to know what’s included with breakfast and what’s not.
