Plenty of parking, nice bar area, clean room

Enjoyed having an excellent meal and bar was very convenient.

The lobby/library, restaurant/bar and outdoor seating areas are stunning. Beautiful, tasteful. . . I wanted to lounge all day there. Much nicer than the more expensive chains!

The website leads one to believe that you are staying at an Inn. This is really a nice motel with a very lovely lobby. The patio is a plus but there is a lot of noise of the traffic on route 7.

Terrific property. The lobby is outstanding for relaxing. Rooms are small but met all needs including a fridge. Linens were very high end, as were the toiletries. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean and neat, all felt new and well maintained. Lots of parking. Very easy and tech heavy checkin and checkout. Easy checkout extension granted until 12pm.

The owners did a wonderful job converting this obviously standard motel with rooms that are entered from the outdoors.The lobby/restaurant area was beautiful and comfortable. The outside terrace area was also well appointed but unusable on the lovely evening we were there because the cushions were wet from a recent rainstorm. Too bad. I did not see an elevator so ask for a first floor room if stairs are a problem for you.

Fun place and very clean. Friendly staff and an amazing outdoor area to hang out.

Common areas are terrific!

This hotel was an old motel that has been refurbished to mimic an old fashioned experience. The rooms have new furniture but with a vintage feel and a modern comfortable bed. A take on the “no tell motel”, the establishment values your privacy and only sends house keeping your room if you ask, and communicate with you by texting. The lobby and bar are small, very nice and classy, but have a limited offering in terms of food or snacks. The staff was excellent and knowledgeable. The hotel doesn’t offer much in terms of amenities- there is a patio for sitting outside but no pool or gym or anything really, so good for a home base when exploring the Berkshires, but not a place to do a lot of hanging out. TV offered Netflix, Prime Video and some other channels which was appreciated.

This is a dated motel with a face lift. Life House added a grandiose lobby but no elevators in this two story structure. Rooms were refurbished - barely. Access stairs to the second floor were dark, dingy and dilapidated (see our photos). Drinks in the lobby were very expensive. Breakfast was not included. There are no common amenities such as a pool, fitness room, etc. Like other 1950’s style motels, the rooms were cramped and it was necessary to keep the single window covered for privacy, therefore no views or fresh air.

Everything was clean and the staff were nice. However? I was told at check-in that rooms weren’t cleaned unless I requested it so I requested it for my 3 night stay but the room was only cleaned once.

I would like to share some feedback regarding my recent stay. The front entry and outdoor space in the main area are stylish and have a modern, trendy feel. The property’s hilltop setting also makes for an attractive first impression. However, I found the rooms did not meet the same standard. The room was quite dark, with only one window and limited lighting from two dim lamps. The heating/air conditioning unit was positioned uncomfortably close to the bed, and the bath towels provided had noticeable holes. On a positive note, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. When we first checked in, the lights were not functioning, but someone promptly came to reset the breaker, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, while there were some positive aspects to the stay, I feel the accommodations did not reflect the price point. Steph -Boston/Fla.

Room was very small and damp - needs dehumidifier badly. Floors were wet (both room and bath). No fan in bathroom, so nothing dried, ever. Beds were very soft and small. Furniture was dated. Common room in bar area was lovely. Very overpriced for quality.

The staff was wonderful and the room was immaculate.

We thought the pictures were too good to be true for the price. We were pleasantly surprised. Life House Berkshires was very nice. Staff was wonderful and friendly. The room was clean, nicely decorated, bathroom was big. We would definitely stay again.

Super clean and the bar area is beautiful. The rooms were well decorated and comfortable, they were also incredibly well stocked with wine and waters. Will definitely stay here again :)

The hotel is nice and totally updated. Food and breakfast is limited. Service: they never told us that we had to request housekeeping, so the room was exactly how we left it.

The room was fine, quiet and clean. It was somewhat small. This is a nicely refurbished old standard motel. The lobby area was very nice but the location is high atop a hill off of a major road. You can’t walk anywhere from the hotel and it can be difficult making a left turn into it.

When we arrived they gave us a key to our room. Upon opening the door it was clear this room hadn’t been cleaned from the previous stay. We returned to the lobby and they gave us a new room. This room also hadn’t been cleaned. This happened TWO MORE TIMES. When we finally got a clean room it looked nice but the motel is LOUD. The AC sounds like a freight train and there is no sound proofing. The old crappy motel was clearly decorated well and that’s about it. Not worth the money

I’ve stayed at this hotel numerous times with no issues. The staff is great the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Couldn’t ask for more.

Rooms are very small and utilitarian. Clean, but not very comfortable. Chairs uncomfortable; desk chair so low that desk is unusable. Closet unit does not fit full dress or coat length. Lighting is impossibly dim. Bare floors. No elevator. No front desk service. Air conditioning units are very loud and poorly controlled. Beds and pillows uncomfortable.

Stayed recently at Untold, which is really a modernized take on the old roadside motel. Doors open to the exterior, but the property has been thoughtfully updated. The lobby and patio sitting areas are very well done—pleasant spots to spend some time outside the room. The rooms themselves have been nicely redone, with quality finishes and good attention to detail for what began as a motel structure. That said, at the going rate of around $400/night, the value can feel mismatched. Compared to other hotels at that price point, it’s hard to justify the premium, though I recognize some of that may be regional market pressure. A couple of things to note: • If you’re on the roadside rooms, expect noticeable traffic noise. Light sleepers should request a room away from the street. • Booking directly through the hotel was surprisingly difficult. I first tried through staff on-site but was told I had to go online. When I checked the Untold website, the direct booking price was higher than third-party sites like Travelocity or Hotels.com. I even tried to book direct to help the property avoid fees, but they wouldn’t match the price and redirected me back to the third-party platform. That was disappointing. Bottom line: A stylishly updated motel with nice shared spaces and comfortable rooms, but expect potential road noise and a high rate for the region/class. Booking directly is not traveler-friendly, which takes away from the overall experience.

The king size bed was a platform type. It felt like a futon mattress and was not comfortable. I do not know if they have any regular beds with a box spring.

This place was nice—a renovated motor lodge with some beautiful touches. The room was nice and comfortable and the staff were all fantastic! The bar was extremely beautiful. Breakfast was very overpriced, but I tried to make up for an expensive, basic bagel by drinking a lot of free coffee and I was worth it for the ambiance. The motel is on a very busy road and my room was on the road side of the building, so pretty loud as a result. The products in the shower were lavish, but the water never got hot.

Loved the stay, only two things kept me from saying it was 5 stars. The WiFi connection was spotty so if you were watching tv (because they use Apple TV) it was freezing every 2 mins. Also, you can’t lower the room temp passed 65 and their 65 wasn’t a normal 65. It was still really warm. Besides that I love it. Super clean and quiet.

Nice upscale motel near Lenox. Rooms are well designed and furnished. But silly large “cages” around AC units block access to one of the beds from one side. The restaurant is not open on Monday. Nice full bar. Open fire-pit near the Lobby lounge. 5-8 minutes drive to many local dining options. Wi-fi signal was really weak and spotty.

The property was absolutely wonderful, but the staff unfortunately was very rude and constantly annoyed that they had to be there to begin with. I understand having a job is a pain in the butt but don’t make it visible for your guests. I could easily see the eye rolls and non welcoming responses when ever we had a question about the town. Sitting in the lobby enjoying the evening aesthetics, we could see both the bar tender and staff worker glaring over at us and then looking at each other as if we didn’t belong there. Just made us feel weird and uncomfortable - also when a guest asks you to take a picture of them celebrating a special moment, don’t roll your eyes. Or if you do, be better at hiding it. Other than that, nice property

We loved the comfortable communal areas. Beautiful patio with fire pits and sofas inside and out. Great bar and dining area too. It was very clean, Beautiful bathroom, comfy beds and freindly, accommodating staff. Highly recommended

The place was clean; in this heat, I appreciated how well the a/c worked. The bed was very comfortable. Hotel was conveniently located to Tanglewood, which was why we came to Lenox. I disliked the virtual aspects of the front desk. We didn't know where to check in, and saw other travelers similarly confused. Didn't know we were supposed to check in at the bar in the restaurant. Later, I got a text from the virtual front desk asking if I had any questions. I asked 2 questions but never got a reply. Re: complimentary coffee, it would have been nice to have an offering of tea and/or hot water as well. Waited for service to check out, along with two other guests. Furthermore, we were never told check in or check out times.

Staff was unenthusiastic and level of staffing was poor for the number of people there at the facility. Really hurt the experience at this lovely facility

The property is new and shows promise, but unfortunately it lacks attention to several important details that significantly impacted our stay. We checked out around midnight and found the self check-in process to be functional, but not intuitive. The instructions provided were unclear and incorrect—we were assigned room 219 and told it was on the first floor, which it was not. There was no signage to help locate the stairs to the second floor, and at night, the room numbers were difficult to read. With no staff contact available during those hours, it made for a frustrating and exhausting experience. The room itself presented further challenges. The air conditioning unit was quite loud and installed so close to the bed that accessing the lamp light switch required physically climbing over the bed. The Apple TV device was loosely mounted, hanging from the television, and the main power switch for the room was unresponsive. While the bathroom appeared well-designed, there was a slight odor that detracted from the overall impression. I mentioned the lack of signage to the clerk during checkout, but have yet to receive any follow-up. I hope the management takes these comments constructively, as it would be unfortunate to see a well-priced, previously enjoyable option fall short due to easily addressable issues. At present, I do not plan to return, but I sincerely hope improvements are made, as the potential is certainly there.

Everyone working at this hotel goes above & beyond. So lovely, smiles on their faces, happy to accommodate, and more importantly- the hotel looks exactly like the pictures online. Newly renovated, modern, extremely clean. Cant say enough about this place! Sidebar- Josh is the man!!

We loved everything! Josh was great at check in and with recommendations. Nick was truly fabulous bartending and giving us helpful suggestions and tips. Aurora was extremely helpful as well. 5 stat hotel in a great location with an awesome bar and restaurant. Hamburgers were off the chart. Thank you!!! We most definitely will be back!

My friends and I will NEVER stay at a Life House property again. It was by far, the worst lodging experience any of us (4 people) ever had. And we’ve been to many. There was no one to greet us. We had to check ourselves in on their system. We were left almost entirely on our own from check-in to check-out. If we had a question or problem, too bad. No way to call. The a/c unit was quirky. No way to call. The small refrigerator needed defrosting. No way to call. The tv was quirky and would just freeze. No one to call. We couldn’t reach the front desk, maintenance or maid service, The website didn’t reveal that this was a motel. There was no elevator to the second floor. We had to drag our own heavy suitcases up a flight of stairs. There was one person, Alex, in the lobby. He was very nice. But he was singularly also taking care of a private party in the lovely front lobby/bar/lounge which was closed for a private party. But actually, it wouldn’t have mattered. The website spotlighted this lovely and inviting front lobby/bar/lounge area, which is what sold us. But the website never mentioned that it’s closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. As I said, this was a really bad experience. All four of us agree - never again!

It's a clean, nice place. And easy to get to the surrounding towns.

I would suggest that you put a sign by road of HIGHWAY-7 with a light so you can see the entrance at night. I would also let your guests know that you can not turn into the property from Highway 7 towards Lenox.

Great proximity to Tanglewood

Access to the hotel is very bad. Hotel Entrance sign is tiny and unlit. The main sign comes up suddenly and is placed too far up from Route 7 to be seen clearly in daytime and especially at night. Coming from Lenox we often passed the Entrance. Left turn out of the hotel onto Route 7 (to Lenox/Tanglewood) is practically impossible. Crossing a 4 lane highway with a double line is very dangerous and makes no sense whatsoever. Signage for Check-In is not good. It should say "Main Entrance" (instead it says "Club Room"). Parking is good, but instructions in how to access parking for your particular room is not clear. Dinning/Breakfast area is good with Coffee always available. Room was quiet and comfortable. Bed comfortable and Bathroom good. The Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Lotion dispensers are not at all Eco-Friendly. They are full of chemicals, strongly perfumed and have a bad medicinal odor. We did not use them. We fortunately travel with our own Eco-Friendly soap and shampoo. Closet space is minimal and the Closet/Refrigerator unit is poorly designed. The 2 large, deep drawers underneath are very difficult to access. There was no chair in which to relax. The desk chair was far too low. Service was excellent and prompt. Why the fire pits outside were going full blast in 85 degree weather made no sense.

Driveway entrance is on a very busy road where cars & trucks go very fast, so turning into & out of drive is tricky.

An old motel made new and trendy! Cool concept. Location was excellent- short drive to Lenox, Lee, and Stockbridge.

The location was perfect, close to everything.

A little off and away from the center of Lenox, or everything, but otherwise a great place to stay.

The atmosphere and decor was incredible for a cute little motel. I’m a sucker for a boutique hotel and this definitely was up to standards. it’s quiet and wasn’t busy, clean and accommodating, staff was always very nice, and the restaurant was fantastic— again it was quiet we were one of maybe two other people eating there one night but 10/10 food we were very pleasantly surprised. Make sure to get the fresh forged mushroom raviolis!

This stylish hotel was a lovely find, beautifully appointed. A very cozy place to spend the night. Unfortunately, dinner was not available, as the kitchen is closed in the evenings on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the breakfast menu was out of date. but the gentleman who checked us in in the evening was particularly charming, and we felt very welcome. The room and bathroom were very comfortable, though the heating unit was pretty noisy.

The photos make this place look like a country inn, but it's actually a re-imagined motel. For a motel, it is great, the rooms are re-done nicely and they are comfortable and quiet. For an upscale place to stay - it is a nice motel. They try, with a little library, and the bar and several table restaurant. We did not have dinner there - but breakfast and checkout was a mess. They don't have anything but coffee until 8:30, and there are no alternatives nearby. Think of airline food - the descriptions sound good, but then you get a disappointing meal that is obviously not freshly prepared, just heated up. For a motel, it is great.

We wanted to have a glass of wine at 8:30. There were other people drinking and the man behind the bar said you were closed. We at least wanted to have a glass and bring it back to our rooms but it wasn’t an option. Poor customer service.

Old motel has been remodeled nicely but is still, at heart, a motel. Breakfast is poor value. Bed is very comfortable. Internet is good.
