I had such high hopes for this hotel stay, and was excited to stay, but was thoroughly disappointed. The only thing good about it was the front desk person Mason who was amazing and went above and beyond to help us out when somehow our reservation was canceled and he actually got us a cheaper rate. The king suite was beautiful, had a full kitchen set up, which I didn't realize at the time , those were literally the only positive things I can say about my stay. First the pool was not operational for some odd reason ? I had called just the day before to confirm that it was in working order, because I have 3 children that were really looking forward to it, so they were very disappointed; had I known that their pool wasn't going to be operational , I would have stayed somewhere else, and I wish I would have. I figured the breakfast would be the redeeming factor here, but again was extremely disappointed as there was literally no breakfast food other than some weird setup of breakfast burritos or breakfast tacos that had chicken and bratwurst with cheese and salsa, which in my opinion is just bizarre. Also, there were a few eggs ,bagels, bread but there was no butter, no cream cheese no condiments whatsoever, no salt, pepper and the juice was so watered down and disgusting we couldn't drink it , only good thing in the whole breakfast set up was the waffles,and I don't even think that it was mixed appropriately, but we ate them anyway because we were hungry . Huge let down

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and good variety of items. Did have a problem with checking in... asked for adjoining or close proximity for group for a wedding. Our room was for two days and all others were for day of wedding. Check-in time was late. Asked for early check-in but they let the prior quests have a late check-out. Had to use another room to get ready for the wedding and was not able to get back to check-in until reception was over at midnight. Didn't even apologize for the inconvenience.

The shower water never became warm or hot, we had to request dish soap from the front desk. Would have enjoyed fresh fruit on the breakfast buffet, otherwise the food was great. The staff was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable.

If I ever need to visit Des Moines again this would be my go to hotel. Everything was wonderful. The hotel was clean, the pool was a nice size, the workout facility was nice. I love the hotel rooms too. The rooms had everything we needed. I needed a two double bed suite but settled for a King suite due to availability. Everything worked out, we used the sofa bed. Breakfast was very delicious and offered a variety of options. It was conveniently located down the street from the airport and only fifteen minutes from my event location. Nice touch having recycle bins throughout the hotel.
