What guests think

At Gran Hotel Cantera La plaza, travelers consistently highlight very clean, comfortable rooms and welcoming staff, while recurring caveats include a somewhat remote or hard-to-spot setting, occasional breakfast shortcomings, and sporadic noise or maintenance issues like the elevator.

Rooms are generally spacious with comfortable beds and modern touches; some lack windows, a few note Wi-Fi or bathroom-door quirks, and occasional noise from an events hall. Service is widely described as friendly and attentive, though a minority report rude interactions, slow check-out, or frustrations with deposit and payment practices. Location feedback is mixed: some find it convenient or safe, while others say it's off the beaten path, hard to find, or far from consular sites; breakfast quality and hours vary from great to basic. Expect a good-value stay with straightforward amenities.

Very nice room. Incredible customer service. Secure parking. Located on the 3rd floor of a building but worth the climb as the elevator was not working. Great value. Recommended

stayed a night there was a Quinceanera party going on upstairs so alot of noise ..hard time falling asleep with all the noise ..parking was small since they have stores around the hotel but it was a nice hotel , had some issues but got help with it ....the breakfast was suburb may i say ...there working on a restaurant so got room service ... would stay again but farther away from the upstairs salon. But if you plan on renting salon it would be convenient on renting rooms down stairs at hotel.

Reserved room just to get some sleep to continue on the road... I arrived to shower and sleep around 1am...soon after I hit the bed I started itching and getting rashes on my body... I was so annoyed I couldn't get any sleep ..couldn't wait for daylight to just get out of there... Told the front desk and they said they were fumigating... I not the person to complain but I had to continue on my way on the road feeling sleepy and risking an accident.. I suffered from itchiness all-day until I had an opportunity to take a shower elsewhere... I still have bumps on my skin that still itch.. .. was just a waste of money and still suffering the consequences

I stayed at this hotel on my way north to the USA, then again on my return home in Jalisco. It is a rare jewel in a tarnished crown . A boutique hotel with beautiful rich fixtures providing and unsuspected elegance. In addition, Daniel at the front desk is courteous and very helpful. He is friendly and outgoing with a smile that is warm and genuine. You will feel very welcome during your stay. Be sure to reserve online for the best price.

Property is not ethical. I had 2 nights paid through expedia and they charged when I arrived. I would not recommend staying here for this reason, they are unethical and will scam you.

Room condition good butoff the beaten path. Breakfast was basic and not repeatable. Few restaurant options and no shopping centers near. Staff was helpful. Nuevo Laredo really doesn't have Uber although the app functions it also was offline. Didi app is only option or have to pay cash and negotiate with taxis. If I stay there again stay in known brand hotels.
