What guests think

Across reviews, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Philadelphia Airport Ridley Park draws mixed feedback: guests like the convenient airport location, reasonable rates, and many mention friendly front‑desk staff, but recurring issues with cleanliness and noise lessen overall satisfaction.

Rooms are simple, with reports of worn furnishings, small or thin pillows, dim lighting, and problems such as faulty fixtures and loud HVAC. Breakfast and shuttle reliability are hit‑or‑miss, with some smooth experiences and others facing limited selection or long waits. Many reviewers also mention extra charges, including a nightly parking fee and a sizable refundable deposit at check‑in. Expect a basic airport stopover with trade‑offs.

The room was fine. Front desk reception not very friendly. The part that upset me the most was being told at check in that they charge $10 a night for parking ! I have never heard that before. I’m sorry but I am paying good money for a room I shouldn’t have to pay for parking.

The shuttle bus took over an hour to pick up from the airport . Called at least 5 times and given random answers about the driver being in route. Driver was unapologetic and blamed it on traffic. The actual ride from the airport to the hotel was only 12 minutes. The front desk attenendant was pleasant and efficient.

This hotel took a bit to check in as I waited for a few minutes to be greeted. Despite the listing stating “We have complimentary on-site parking during the duration of your stay.”, parking costs $10. The room was decently clean but one of the lights didn’t work, the bathroom fan didn’t work, the body wash was empty, the tub didn’t look recently cleaned, and the sheets were incredibly thin so bring your jacket if you get cold easily. The hotel is in a safe area and breakfast was your typical eggs, sausage, cereal. It wasn’t a bad stay but we would not revisit.

We booked a two day stay but had to cut it short by a day, after our first night. It started small, with the room, having a bad smell, and then the TV remote didn’t work. The remote was easy to fix, however, we soon discovered that the showerhead in our room was broken. On top of that, the room turned out to be dirty. Our room was close to the lobby, so it was very noisy with staff talking loudly through the night. Then, a delivery truck arrive around 6 AM and was running his engine just outside of our room. This turned out to be a food delivery truck because they didn’t have enough food for breakfast. Breakfast was served late, and was a bad quality. Overall, it was a very bad experience, and the staff didn’t seem to care about fixing it. We found it was easier just to cancel our second night and go elsewhere. I definitely would not recommend this place to others.

If I could give zero stars I would. First, the toilet in the bathroom was dirty on the inside and on the seat when we checked in. Went back downstairs to let the girl at the desk know. She switched our room. This room, the shower curtain was so dirty at the bottom we didn’t even shower. The pillows are not actually pillows. They are size of couch throw pillows and I don’t even know what was inside of them. I didn’t grab a photo of those. Then at 11:40pm while I was sleeping in the room with my 11-year-old daughter, the same staff member from the front desk entered our room! I yelled out and she went “oh someone’s in here?” And then left. Then again this morning while getting dressed a male staff member entered our room. No knocking. Nothing. I believe his name was Alex they said. He was very apologetic but said the room was marked as vacant. This was the worst experience in a hotel I have had ever. Awful. When I was checking out I was told I checked out yesterday. I checked in yesterday. Then she asked my name and said oh that’s not you. Dirty. Uncomfortable and unsafe with random people entering your room. When I explained all of this to the girl at the desk during check out she didn’t really say much. It was suggested that I contact the general manager at a later time. They did not offer to call her or anything. Forget to mention the white blanket on the one bed was stained. I got a picture of part but not all the staining. TV remote stopped working too.

Will unfortunately not be coming back to this hotel. We are traveling out of town and when we got there the process was long checking in but it was alright. Our keys didn’t work so we had to go back downstairs and get them working again. When we entered the room and went into bathroom we noticed hair on the toilet and the toilet paper holder empty which alright fine. Then we noticed a long strand of hair in the shower and small little tiny hairs in the rest of the shower. We were pretty upset and then uncovered the bed and found another long piece of hair that looked like the one in shower. We went downstairs and let them know what happened and they ended up giving us a bigger room which was nice of them. We just wish the room was cleaned correctly first. We saved up money to stay in a hotel for our weekend trip and if we knew that the rooms weren’t cleaned we would have rethought our decision.

The room was run down and dirty. ( stained sheets/pillow case, hairs all over the bathroom, broken toilet seat, used toothpick on a chair, only one of 5 cardboard cups in the room was wrapped in plastic……..). The breakfast was disgusting, looked like it had been sitting out for 3 days. Gave the hotel a second chance, it was just as bad. Definitely would not recommend!!!!

I want to express my absolute disappointment and disgust with this hotel experience. 1. When i was given my first room, I walked in and it was a disaster and untouched from the previous checkout. 2. My new rooms tub has a huge crack in it and was backed up. I asked them to fix the clog, they didn't so I did it myself. 3. I asked at check in for house keeping daily. They never did it once. I asked every morning for it. I watched them write it down, and nothing. 4. There was a drunk girl in the lobby passed out on the floor on Tuesday or Wednesday. 5.There were crickets and flies in my room. 6. The air conditioner barely blows out cold air so I was sweaty at night. 7. The kitchen area floor is gross and sticky. I will never stay there again. I will be posting this same review online as well. This place should be embarrassed.

There is little nice to say about our stay at this hotel. Despite it touting we’re a non-smoking facility, we kept smelling cigarette smoke. The TV didn’t work properly, there’s only one small light in the whole room. And, it was the noisiest night we’ve ever spent at a hotel. The clamoring from the neighboring room went on until 3 am.. shouting, slamming in and out of the room.. despite it being right next to the front desk, no one intervened. I guess the desk clerk had better things to do.

While the room was clean the staff was not very friendly and occupied on their phones. Had to get new key cards three times because they wouldn’t work. And no they weren’t near anything magnetic. After the third set of room cards, the front desk staff was a little testy. It was late so we didn’t address the snippiness and went on with our evening. Maybe it was a long day for them. One of the worst check in experiences here. Arrived around 11 PM and our rooms ( we had booked 2 suites) were not ready. The lady at the front desk asked us to wait. Which we did for a while. She let us know their suites were no longer available but she was going to get us regular rooms. Even regular rooms were going to be cleaned first, they weren't ready. When asked how our rooms were given away, she kept saying she only just started her shift and she didn't know. This went on for a while. We finally checked in around 1230 AM after more than an hour of waiting. At 6 AM cleaning service knocked at my friend's door. This happened 4 times, believe it or not. The lady said her records showed that the room needed to be cleaned. Breakfast was slim pickings and the main guy manning it was rude and abrasive. We got to talk to the manager at 1130 the next day ( he is only available after 11) and he issued a $50 credit to our room charge for 1 night. At least he had the decency to apologize and admit they made a mistake. Lady at the front desk made it sound like we made a mistake by showing up. Next day's breakfast was burnt omelettes, white bread, some milk in the fridge. There is a waffle maker. All in all, frustrating and disappointing stay. Not coming back.

I was so unexpectedly surprised by this hotel. The staff truly went out of their way to make life easier. I needed more light than there was in the room in order to work remotely. They let me use the breakfast room until 2 am. They gave me apples and peanut butter for a snack because I worked through dinner, and I paid extra for a late checkout and they let me stay until I needed to go to the airport at 4. I’ve never been so impressed by staff in my life. Thank you!

The person I dealt with during check was horrible. He was watching tv when i arrived and he seem irritated. I asked him if there’s a Tesla charger close by he told me there’s charger at Royal Farms which was right next door but there was not. I had to drive around 8 miles on the other side of town. I guess I interrupted his tv time that’s why he was upset, he was not friendly and unprofessional. I came downstairs to tell him there was no toilet paper in the room and just looked at me and walked away. I ended up buying it at Wawa where I found a supercharger for my Tesla.

Not sure where to start: 1) Breakfast: There was no breakfast. We were told in the morning that food delivery had not arrived. Eventually, they got the pancake machine working, and had a few bagels. But the toaster didn't work. 2) No soap in rooms -- only soap available was attached in the showers. 3) AC didn't work. EIther had to accept freezing, or off. Temp control didn't work. 4) TV remote controls in both of our rooms either didn't work, or only worked sporadically. There are several other small issues I won't get into here. I have stayed in about 20 motels this summer. I haven't felt the need to write a review about any of the previous ones. This one was the worst.
