Ice machine not working on my floor . Refrigerator not working in room. Parking wouldn’t open . Had to go get another key. Pool was green. Couldn’t swim went for two days to enjoy the hotel didn’t work out . Nice hotel. How it looks.

I had an excellent two night stay at the Grand Bay Hotel SF. I was greeted warmly and upgraded upon an early arrival. Excellent gym and great food choices at the property. Room was adequate if not a bit outdated. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely return next time I need a hotel on the peninsula.

Spacious hotel and lobby with nice bar /pool area. Lots of functions going on in function rooms. No shopping areas in close proximity. Pool is much smaller than pictures but still was nice.

Great hotel. The front ealk could use some attention though. The parking garage was a mess. The elevator doesnt go to the third parking floor, sand bags ripped open in the stair well, lights on the top deck don't work or weren't turned on creating an unsafe situation, cobwebs and dirt everywhere. Looks like the garage doubles as a junkyard for old hotel equipment and the rear entrance has trash all over the landscaping. It could use some serious attention and cleanup work for sure.

The front desk agent was very blunt about paying for parking. Its 30 dollars a car in a not very secure garage. I was shocked because I have stayed at this hotel before and never had to pay for parking (that I knew of). So the whole experience wasn't customer friendly at all. $60 to park in an empty garage for two cars is a rip off. Also the lights in the hallway in front of our room was flickering. It was annoying to go in and out of our room.

The Grand Bay Hotel is out dated and needs to be completely remodeled. First evening I arrived with my luggage I had to detour around the kitchen through back hall ways to get to the service elevators because the guest elevators were broken. In the shower the caulking was coming away from the pho tile shower walls. To top that trick when I turned the shower on there was only a small amount of water that would come out of the shower spout because the rest of the water was running down the wall from the back of the shower head. The food was awful! When I checked out they had charged me $30 per day to park my car and $20 a day for an amenities fee I thought it was laughable since I was on a work trip and I didn't even have a functional shower!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Fire alarm kept going off and no one notified us on what was going on. Called the front desk multiple times and no one answered. Had to go to tne front desk to find out what happened. Also elevators were broken til morning.

I got disappointed When I opened the fridge to put my food I found hair hanging I cleaned it with disinfectant wipes Thinking that this is only an overlooked issue Yet the worth was when I got up in the morning to shower The bath tub was baking up With hair floating in the water The shower curtain had meldo on it I felt very disappointed One set of the towels looked not fresh I have pictures for all of this I called the front desk and let them know They apologised and sent an engineer to Fix the problem It took him haft an hour to do so So my experience was totally opposite of my expectation

Room smelled musty like cigarette smoke, they claimed it was humidity. Seriously? They have full occupancy apparently, yet there is always only 1 person at the check in desk. The hotel is worn and tired, needs to be shut down and renovated.

Check in began well. And the pool was great. Kids had a good time. However it went downhill from there. The cleanliness wasn’t great in the room. There were hairs on the bed. Also, the door for the connecting room wouldn’t shut and lock. Had to push with force to finally get it to go. Last the staff at the restaurant was beyond rude. Will not be staying again

First, the hotel lobby and bar area were very nice and presentable. The nearby water was very scenic. Location was great and parking was convenient. However, the rooms felt very run down. When we arrived at our room, it felt dark and the bathroom sink and tub were cracked, chipped, and rusted. The window to the outside was cracked from what looks like a rock and the bathroom mirror had a round stain on it that looked either like rust or a crack. The walls were dirty and one looked like it had dried coffee drips or maple syrup on it. One of the Lather branded toiletries was open and was dirty on the inside cap. We brought this up with the front desk and they helped us move rooms the following day. The new room was better, and had a nice view of the water, but still felt dark and a bit run down. For example, the night stand had sticky black tar all over it from deteriorating rubber pieces on the hotel phone. We just laid a towel over that. The bathroom mirror had lighting on the edges but only 1/2 was working. The hallways to the room had a lot of chipped/cracked molding that gave the overall appearance of needing refurbishment. Overall, for a AAA 4-diamond hotel, we expected a bit more.

The rooms are really nice but the bed in our Junior suite was old and saggy in the middle. We complained to the management about the state of the bed and they said oh yeah, we've been hearing lots of complaints about the beds so I think that that is in need of an upgrade. Other than that, it's a nice hotel. It's a little bit worse for wear but they said they were going to do a remodel soon.

Coming back to the hotel at 1:30AM my key didn’t work on the door. Two trips to the front desk to reprogram the key didn’t work. Security walked me back to the room and saw mine didn’t work and their master key didn’t work either. A call to maintenance and another trip down to the front desk and back to my room finally got the door working. It’s not 2:AM. Then the people I the room next door came in and started aren’t and throwing thing around. They left and came back a couple if times slamming the door so hard my bed shoot. Then the female somehow licked the man out of the room. He continually tried to talk to her through the door and constantly knocking. She would occasionally crack the door open and they would argue. Finally after an hour and a half if this I called the front desk and they came to remove the man. It’s not 5:30AM and I’ve had not sleep. Worst. Night ever in a hotel!!!!!

While the staff were kind and attentive, the room was dated and hot. The entire stay the air would not work properly and the amenities were old. Also the size of the room was very tight. Nice hotel but it needs some attention.

The hotel is located in a quiet area surrounded by businesses. However, it’s also located near a small airport for personal planes and those are very noisy and heard often during the day. Only an Issue for those that sleep during the day. Nice view of lagoon. Convenient self parking. Lobby is very nice, with bar, and cafe. Disappointed with the room, weird musty smell in room. The water pressure in the shower is almost non existent. When the toilet clogged, and a request was made at the front desk for help, no one came to fix the toilet. The mattress is rock hard, with a pillow topper on top. Which is somewhat ok for back sleepers. If you’re a side sleeper you will be in pain. The AC doesn’t work well which forces you to crank the window open. You will hear your neighbors hotel doors slamming shut, constantly. Thin walls. Bedding was clean and white, same with towels. Overall room cleanliness was good. Parking is $30 a night. Overall, for the price it’s decent, but I doubt I will stay here again.

I booked this hotel for my husband, who was on a business trip in the Bay Area. The room was confirmed and paid for way in advance. On the day of arrival, after spending a day at business meetings and dinner, he arrived at the hotel around 10 p.m. The front desk manager, Ms. Julia Bath, told him that they had given away the room even though it was already paid for. He was given a form letter (which leads me to think this is a regular practice at this place) and told to take a $30 Uber ride to a hotel at SFO, even though his meetings the next day were all in Redwood City. We have been frequent travelers for 30+ years, and this is the first time we have shown up to find our paid-for hotel room unavailable. I am certain that had I tried to cancel the room, they would have charged me for the night regardless. But it is okay for them to double-sell a room that was paid for by a guest. I would stay away from this place unless you are prepared to show up and find that your confirmed room is not available and you need to find another place in the middle of the night.

$30 parking per day. I never had to pay for parking there before and my stay was 30 days. TERRIBLE!!!! Elaine. the counter clerk is VERY RUDE not only to me and my wife, but 3 other couples I recommended staying there for my 80th birthday. All other staff members and cleaning staff were courteous and excellent. Because of Elaine, neither I nor my friends will ever stay again at the Grand Bay Hotel. She is a detriment to the hotel. I heard other guests complain about her.

Overall the stay was fantastic. The service left a lot to be desired I have never been treated so horribly by hotel staff. Just absolutely unacceptable. While the stay was fine. I would never stay here again based on the customer service experience.

The staff are very dismissive. We stayed for a week and despite repeated requests our safe was not fixed neither was the refrigerator. They also managed not to make up the room two days. I spoke to the front desk on a daily basis. They took notes and in turn ignored my requests. Avoid this hotel at all cost.

Front desk staff made a mistake on my check out date and called me during a work meeting to tell me they were immediately going to remove my belongings from the room. Took 45 minutes on the phone to prove to them that they were in error on my checkout date based on my reservation. After all the wasted time and anxiety not even an apology.

When I checked in, I walked into a room that appeared to be occupied with shoes, a bag and towels on the ground. When I went back to the front desk, I was told "oh that's weird". I was given another room down the hall, but it was a terrible experience overall, and I was shocked there wasn't more empathy or at least an apology for such a shocking and poor experience.

Hotel is located in a serene neighborhood with a pond and is spacious. However its noticeable vacancy was concerning and the hotel felt eary and ghostly (noticed not more than 2-6 guests in the hotel and restaurant combined during our 3 night stay). Hotel needs to upgrade their carpet flooring which has had its share of spills and stain marks on it. Room was clean, however upon arrival we found a pair of sucks laying on the floor inside the room and in front of its small refrigerator which presumably belonged to previous room guest. Central air conditioning makes constant clunking and jerking noise every time it starts or stops which prevents a quiet sleep also. Front desk staff was friendly and accommodated us for parking.

We chose this location since it was close to the wedding event we were joining. The hotel is in a tranquil location and it was relaxing to stay there. I wish there was shuttle to the train station( Caltrain), cafes, restaurants nearby

This is the only place I will ever stay at if I want to be close to the airport. I’ve stayed in all the other airport hotels…awful. This one is much more quiet, clean, and convenient in the morning to get something to eat and drink. It’s also much happier in the lobby

The hotel is in a corporate park however there are not a lot of options in the immediate area to stay somewhere with a walkable downtown which makes this property attractive since it is in a good location but not up against 101 like many of the hotels. On a weekend the area is dead so it's very quiet other than the small airport and at times single engine propeller planes take off over the hotel every 90 seconds (we noticed this but the pool in particular. The staff was adequate but not friendly per se and the place is nice. The e-bike rentals, while expensive, are convenient is you want to go to San Mateo where there is more of a downtown and streetside dining options. I don't think it says in Expedia that parking is $30/night, but it is.

This is a business hotel located in the middle of a business park. All outside restaurants were located at least a mile away. Room was a little small for the price. The special price we received hardly covered the parking fee which was outrageous. Would not recommend this hotel to families or anyone on a budget looking for a quick overnight stay

Some of the surrounding areas can be pretty busy and cause travel times to take much longer than expected. Especially Downtown San Francisco. Having a much quieter, modern, comfortable, and more laid back place to get back to and relax definitely helps. It’s centrally located to multiple popular areas, including the SF airport, Palo Alto/Stanford University, Half Moon Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, etc. I would definitely stay here again if I have a need or desire to return to the region.

Restaurant and bar not open late enough. Good wine choices. Coffee shop that is only open until 11:00 closes at 0930 (without a sign on the window and people lined up waiting) so the person working can take a 30 minute break. No one to relieve her. Waited so long to get seated for breakfast that we left and went elsewhere.

Hotel is a little dated, plumbing issue for sure !(3" of water and soap scum 1 minute into the shower) . The breakfast buffet was embarrassing honestly. Ive had better free holiday in express breakfasts (and saved $38, lol)

Nice comfortable & convenient stay while carrying out my Fathers memorial services in town. My Family stayed here too, & it had a nice atmosphere, very comfortable during a hard time :) and the restaurant & Bar was nice and convenient. Breakfast was excellent.

“$30 Breakfast Buffet” advertised but once you sit down they charge you alla carré and the menue prices are so high that for your $30 you get a tiny sized platter with eggs and one cup of coffee. When I asked for I refill on my coffee I was informed that the waiter doesn’t have the authority to give me a refill on my coffee. Smelly expensive rooms too plus $30/day parking
