Great location. Terrible stay due to slamming doors and Jr Olympic team staying at the hotel and having no regard for other guests. No staff onsite late at night so situation of kids banging on your door and doors slamming at 1am wasn’t handled well to say the least. Area is perfect for walking into town and skiing. I would suggest to spend the extra money and stay at the resort property. This was a cute setup but the pool and spa were gross in this hotel. We walked across the street every day to use the pool and spa there.

we stayed at this property once before and it was great with indoor pool and a great bar on site . Pool was closed due to maintenance and bar was also closed with no one around.

Our family stayed at Lake House for 3 nights. The check-in experience was quick and smooth. The check-in manager even advised us to use the waterfront area of the hotel to view July 4 fireworks which was great. Lake House property is part of High Peaks resort and is a bit neglected compared to the main resort building. The lounge area of Lake House was mostly deserted, the bar area was unmanned most of the time and the floor was not cleaned. I’m surprised that the guests living in Lake House would make such a mess dropping their finished plastic water bottles, disposable glasses, candy wrappers on the floor. There was no vacuuming done as far as I can remember, the coffee pot was filled in the morning but never re-filled. The main resort building had better services for guests including refreshments served twice during day time. The rooms in Lake House were clean and room service was great. However, I’d recommend people to skip staying at Lake House and instead book the main resort hotel for their stay. The waterfront property was fabulous and so was the outdoor swimming pool. Guests are allowed to use kayaks and paddle boats on a first come first serve basis which was awesome.

Can walk to Main street within a few minutes with shops and restaurants. Dinner at Black Bear was good. The indoor pool looked inviting, although I didn’t have time to use it. Hot tub looked old but a decent size. The outdoor fire pit was not on, pool table missing balls, connect 4 game missing pieces, no staff working in the lounge so not possible to get a drink there. There was a vending machine in the hallway and ice machine. Room 3, below the ground floor, was a decent size but decor and furniture needs upgrading. Dark paint and carpet without enough lights to brighten. There is a small coffee pods machine, mini-fridge, and ice bucket in the cupboard. The patio is just 2 chairs on concrete with grass in front, a hedge and road before the lake. The lake is visible but might be easier to see from 2nd floor. The bathroom is old with very low counter. There was visible dirt around the bathtub. It looked like light yellow soap scum that hadn’t been scrubbed with cleanser for weeks. The check-in across the street was lovely with friendly staff in a nice lobby. I won’t stay at the Lake House again.

An excellent hotel for the money. You can’t beat the location and convenience. The room was clean and the beds comfortable but don’t expect charm or luxury. Mini fridge and coffee maker in the room but no microwave. We’d stay again for sure if the price was right.

You are strictly paying for location at the Lake House. Across the street is the main resort, which is where you need to check in upon arrival. The main resort appears nice however the lake house smells as soon as your walk in. There is no staff to be found anywhere, the recreation area with a couple of games is sad and tired looking. The staff working the water sports gave no instruction on anything and were just diving off the pier. The bed sunk in as soon as we sat on it, so they were pretty uncomfortable throughout the stay. The bottom of the shower curtain was dirty & definitely needed to be cleaned. Having said all of that, the location was great! It was within walking distance of many areas & driving distance of a lot of local sites. I would stay here again if I had absolutely no other choice but it would be the last option.

This is a no-frills sister hotel to the High Peaks. I was hoping for more High Peaks quality, though. The tub was dirty and old and the pool area really needs some work. All in all, the kids had fun and it was the price we needed for an overnight hockey tournament stay.

I was skeptical given some of the others reviews, but I noted they were from 5 years ago. I found our room to be clean, freshly redone/painted, and the building in great condition. An easy walk to downtown. Parking here was easy and convenient. Great views! It was early season and the grounds had not yet gotten their spring spruce up. My only criticism is that the in-room coffee was not up to me standards. I would definitely stay there again.

We've been staying in this building every summer for 25 years. Rooms are small but we don't mind because of the wonderful views and the proximity to town. However, the building is very much in need of some TLC, even after it was updated several years ago. Peeling paint, dirty carpets, hair in bathtub, public rooms dusty, dirty floors, patio and patio furniture filled with old, dried grass clippings, old dog feces in lawn in front of patio, restraunt menu limited and odd. Hotel lobby is still comfortable but getting aged. Complimentary champagne at check-in and afternoon cookies do not make up for it. All staff members were wonderful. Just not worth the $400+ price point. Save up and go to the Mirror Lake Inn.

The hotel is very convenient. Rooms are very clean and large. My biggest complaint is the tv. Service is slow and just old school cable tv. If you are tired and wanting to call it a night after activities all day……. Prepare for endless commercials and channel surfing.

Enjoyed the boat access and lakeside pool. Getting around was confusing and no one really gave directions (like how to acess the beach and pool.. you have to go through an entirely different building. Room was very dark and dingy, not nice as pictured. We also got the pool/lake view and it wasnt visible due to hedges. Very close walk to the amenities but checknin is in one building and then head to the other and no one was working ther.. like a ghost town. Only housekeepers seen in the morning

The lake house building and rooms are very old. It was clean but the bathroom was small, tub wouldn’t drain properly, just overall cramped. Lake house could definitely use a major Reno.

Pictures of the property are pretty misleading. It's not right on the lake. It's in the middle of town. Also no microwave in the rooms, silly complaint but for $500 a night you would think it would have one.

The room was a great size and had a great view. The beds were comfortable.However we found that the plugs on the lamps didn’t hold our plugs too well, and I couldn’t figure out the coffee maker. Other than that it was great stay.Not enough outlets if both people have medical equipment and electronic devices.

Can walk to Main street within a few minutes with shops and restaurants. Dinner at Black Bear was good. The indoor pool looked inviting, although I didn’t have time to use it. Hot tub looked old but a decent size. The outdoor fire pit was not on, pool table missing balls, connect 4 game missing pieces, no staff working in the lounge so not possible to get a drink there. There was a vending machine in the hallway and ice machine. Room 3, below the ground floor, was a decent size but decor and furniture needs upgrading. Dark paint and carpet without enough lights to brighten. There is a small coffee pods machine, mini-fridge, and ice bucket in the cupboard. The patio is just 2 chairs on concrete with grass in front, a hedge and road before the lake. The lake is visible but might be easier to see from 2nd floor. The bathroom is old with very low counter. There was visible dirt around the bathtub. It looked like light yellow soap scum that hadn’t been scrubbed with cleanser for weeks. The check-in across the street was lovely with friendly staff in a nice lobby. I won’t stay at the Lake House again.

The hotel is very convenient. Rooms are very clean and large. My biggest complaint is the tv. Service is slow and just old school cable tv. If you are tired and wanting to call it a night after activities all day……. Prepare for endless commercials and channel surfing.

Great location. Terrible stay due to slamming doors and Jr Olympic team staying at the hotel and having no regard for other guests. No staff onsite late at night so situation of kids banging on your door and doors slamming at 1am wasn’t handled well to say the least. Area is perfect for walking into town and skiing. I would suggest to spend the extra money and stay at the resort property. This was a cute setup but the pool and spa were gross in this hotel. We walked across the street every day to use the pool and spa there.

While I don’t recommend staying at the Lake House specifically the Main building in the resort, was very nice, staff very friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room almost immediately after I filled out the evaluation during our stay and explained how the room was not what I expected. I appreciated that greatly. That really speak to how much they care about their customer service! The restaurant called Top of the Park which is almost directly across the street from the resort was delicious, everything they served was perfect. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay in Lake Placid.

Wasn’t sure of lake house floor plan. Booked a room with patio. My husband has a hard time with stairs. When we got there had to do stairs to get to our room. They looked to accommodate us but not hard enough. It wasn’t busy mid week. So unfortunately he had to do stairs in pain for the two days we were there.

The room was an upgrade from the lake house rooms because of power outage, which was nice. The room was clean and nice. Nighttime: night front desk person was rude asking all kinds of questions when i asked for extra towels. The housekeepers. We’re not understanding English, therefore. Tried to walk in the room when one of us in the party was alone and just getting out of shower (door was latched luckily). I told her 3 times the sign was on door so we would let her know when we were leaving. She still came in to do room. 1st night I told her we wouldn’t need her that day she nodded and we cam back from our excursions. The room was done anyway. And our stuff was all over the place because we did not expect anyone in there. Bathroom: shower heads and spray hose was awesome to see! shower door had a piece missing from bottom and there was water all over the floor. (Reason for the extra towels and yes I told her why). I dont think it was worth what I paid for the room. It was worth half the price I paid. I’ve stayed in better rooms for half that price there.

We LOVE The Lake House! Anna, the manager went above and beyond to get us situated in our favorite room. Parking is very close, we can walk to numerous restaurants and shopping.

Best place to be in Lake Placid. Great Location and View from the balcony! Close to everything. I was a little bit disappointed bc hotel looked like it has not been vacuumed for a while and the cleaning spray used to clean the surfaces and tables at the restaurant was making them stickies. Great food at Dancing Bear restaurant and very good service!

This property was no way worth $470 per night with no proper reception area , no complimentary breakfast , no where to raise ur concern at the time of ur stay. No one was there while checking out. Took 1 hr to find out that need to drop our keys to a different hotel ( which was not stated at the time of check in )

Our family stayed at Lake House for 3 nights. The check-in experience was quick and smooth. The check-in manager even advised us to use the waterfront area of the hotel to view July 4 fireworks which was great. Lake House property is part of High Peaks resort and is a bit neglected compared to the main resort building. The lounge area of Lake House was mostly deserted, the bar area was unmanned most of the time and the floor was not cleaned. I’m surprised that the guests living in Lake House would make such a mess dropping their finished plastic water bottles, disposable glasses, candy wrappers on the floor. There was no vacuuming done as far as I can remember, the coffee pot was filled in the morning but never re-filled. The main resort building had better services for guests including refreshments served twice during day time. The rooms in Lake House were clean and room service was great. However, I’d recommend people to skip staying at Lake House and instead book the main resort hotel for their stay. The waterfront property was fabulous and so was the outdoor swimming pool. Guests are allowed to use kayaks and paddle boats on a first come first serve basis which was awesome.

We have stayed here several times and will be back again soon! Amazing staff , delicious food , super clean and nice touches ( cookies , coffee , lemonade in lobby for guests ). Housekeeping went above and beyond . We love High Peaks resort !
