What guests think
The Restoration Asheville earns strong praise for stylish, comfortable rooms, an inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and engaging on-site perks, with many guests enjoying the rooftop and basement bars, breakfast baskets, and the evening wine-and-charcuterie social hour.
Rooms are generally spacious, modern, and comfortable, though a few guests mentioned layout quirks or downtown-facing noise. Service is widely praised as warm and proactive, but some reported inconsistent responses or reduced amenities when venues were closed, reserved, or on limited hours. The walkable downtown setting makes dining and attractions easy, yet several reviews noted street noise—especially the Friday drum circle—and occasional encounters with homelessness. Expect a stylish, lively boutique stay with thoughtful extras.

Tip notch customer service, they really go above and beyond. Small touches- breakfast delivered to everyone in a picnic basket, great rooftop and basement bars, patio seating, they will drive you around town and pick you up in the hotel jeep, dog friendly, pack and play for baby, central location... the list goes on. Id recommend to anyone

Great hotel! I’m very judgmental and come from a customer service background and the service was excellent. The finishes from tiles to lighting were great. Seemed like they could have charged more…words I don’t say much. The 1st floor bar/arcade was fun. There’s bowling and ski ball and golf putting, video games, etc. There was a gaggle of kids and they were having fun. Good cocktails and the food looked good but we ate elsewhere.

Lovely building. Convenient location. Valet staff were really friendly. Room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was a small basket outside the room containing for example apple, yoghurt, energy bar.. didn’t think that was good value considering the cost of the accommodation. Also only the basement bar is open. We booked the hotel as it had a rooftop bar and front terrace bar but neither were open for our stay in early June. I think it should state this on their website and on listing at hotels.com so people are aware

The hotel was very nice and quaint. Inside the hotel offered coffee bar, restaurant and separate bar. Great locations walkable to other areas of downtown. The rooftop area was very nice place to hold an event. You have view of the downtown area. Also, the deliver cute basket breakfast to your room door every morning.

Great stay at this hotel. Disappointed that two of the three restaurants were closed for private party rentals so we couldn’t experience. Convenient to all downtown shops and restaurants.

Excellent hotel with great amenities and tasteful decor. This was a great place to stay in downtown Asheville when we wanted to park and walk to shops, restaurants, and breweries. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Valet parking was pricey but convenient. Would definitely stay again.

Charming industrial style hotel in the middle of downtown Asheville. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Downstairs offered a bar and entertainment such as a bowling lane, arcade style games, and shuffle board table (legs were broken so it was uneven and difficult to play). 2 star rating for cleanliness of the downstairs bar area. Bartender was rude, difficult to get service, and tables were never cleared. We had to clear 15 glasses from a table ourselves.

I really like the manager Sophie or Sophia and the front desk person Maria, that’s about it other than an excellent location. Sophie was excellent, her customer service was more than expected as was Marie/Maria. The valet also was great. The room was upgraded and was much appreciated as it was our anniversary. However the bath tub was not clean. I told the housekeeper and gave her a nice tip before cleaning and I told the other front desk person - not sure if her name but she said sorry about that I’ll take care of it, I told her I talked to housekeeping as well as she said ok. Not really caring but I assumed she would make sure it was done. It was not, after being out all day, came back to a dirty tube. This hotel is not cheap so I don’t feel like I should have to go out and buy cleaning supplies to clean a tub. And overall the room was nice but was missing a closet so no where really to hang your clothes and it was just missing something. Finally, on Saturday night - to celebrate our anniversary, we attempted to go on the rooftop for a toast and pictures - we were told we could not because of Prom!! I couldn’t believe it. We are paying guests and some is the amenities were restricted! Then reduce the rate for Saturday night. I understand that the school paid for the venue but so did we. Overall not even close to what you would get in Charleston for overall customer service. So lower your expectation. And lastly, the noise, there’s music playing outside the hotel past 1145!!

We had a lovely time at The Restoration with a couple of exceptions. Pros: Fabulous and friendly service, beautiful style and ambiance, perfect for exploring Downtown Asheville, comfortable room and bed, and a delightful continental breakfast delivered to your door in a cute picnic basket. Cons: There aren't any comfortable chairs with backs in the bedroom, and if you stay there on a Friday night, beware of the noise: A very large drum circle just across the street plays monotonously from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. It's super annoying!!

The Restoration is a beautiful hotel with well appointed rooms. Its location is perfect. The terrace rooms offer a great balcony. The only issue we had is that the television has the soap opera (motion blur) effect enabled, and it cannot be disabled by the hotel guest. I find this incredibly distracting when watching television and at minimum it should be a setting that can be disabled by the guest.

Great hotel…the staff is extremely nice and helpful. Rooms are great although the walls are a little thin. I think improvements could be made to the rooftop bar / restaurant.. not the facility but how it’s presented… They kind of undersell it and I think it could be a much better experience. The coffee bar in the main lobby was great.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is located near many restaurants and walking distance to all of downtown. We had some glitches during our stay. Since it was Winter some venues were closed or had limited hours, which we were not informed of. As an example, Trivia was scheduled for 8 pm. When we showed up we were told (in front of a sign that said 8 pm), that it started at 7. At that point there was no wait service at any venue at the hotel. We went out for dinner. Although valet is in my view expensive, our car was not met by anyone several times.

Second time we stayed here but very disappointed this round. Blindsided by lack of services…no housekeeping, no breakfast baskets, no bars/restaurants open (even though other hotel bars were operating), no bellhop (he watched us pull up from inside the lobby and didn’t offer help with bags or valet). They just had a “too bad for you” attitude. I understand some services being limited due to the storm but they literally had no services and a bad attitude as well. This will be the last time we stay there.

The hotel is unique in so many ways. The design is beautiful, charming and elegant with a fun flare. Everything they do is so personal- complimentary breakfast in a picnic basket at your door each morning and an abundance of smiles and kindness from all staff! The roof top bar is a wonderful way to start or end your evenings. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return when visiting Asheville again.

Many amenities listed for the hotel we're not available during my stay. I have a young son with diabetes and this made managing his care more difficult. I reached out to the hotel before arriving via phone and email but got no response. When I arrived and spoke to them in person, no effort was made to remedy my concerns.

We absolutely loved staying at The Restoration in Asheville. From the moment we arrived, the staff were extremely friendly. The room was elegantly decorated, room amenities perfect, and the basket of goodies in the morning at our door made the start of each day perfect. We enjoyed the complementary charcuterie board and wines each evening, and enjoyed an after dinner beverage downstairs at the fabulous Dutchman Bar in the lower level. Will definitely be back!

Greeted by the most friendliest valet drivers ever!!! Unfortunately I broke my foot the day before and had a hard time getting out of the car. They were so helpful with assisting me getting out of the car and very patient. They helped with all the bags and got us to the check in desk. Cole and the Young Lady at the check-in desk were so welcoming and helpful upon arrival. Cole informed us of the property amenities, which are quite impressive. Cole provided us with a quick tour for the 1st floor (restaurant/bar/library) and information about the rooftop bar and basement bar/lounge. Beautiful!!!!! Once walking into the room me and my husband were blown away with the esthetic of the room AND the space! There were complimentary snacks and drinks in the fridge, another great addition to the room. The snacks available for purchase on top of countertop were also delicious and had plenty of options for either sweet/salty/healthy options. There were handcrafted cocktails on the bar cart available for purchase and reasonably priced! Amazing! The hotel is located in a Great central location within proximity to everything. We walked around and enjoyed downtown Asheville. They offer complimentary rides around the city within a 2 mile radius. Another added bonus! We were celebrating my husbands birthday so the young lady at the check in desk provided great recommendations for some local restaurants. Upon returning in the evening the night was far from over.
Greeted by the most friendliest valet drivers ever!!! Unfortunately I broke my foot the day before and had a hard time getting out of the car. They were so helpful with assisting me getting out of the car and very patient. They helped with all the bags and got us to the check in desk. Hotel was amazing! Very clean, beautiful decor, comfortable bed. Everything seemed very new and updated! Our only negative was that on Friday nights there is a drum circle that gathers and plays in the square right across from the hotel until 10 pm. It was loud!!!!

Beautiful facility. Great staff. Good food. But Asheville has a homeless problem and once you walk out the door, it’s there. The city needs to address this asap.

I'll begin by saying this is a fabulous hotel in the heart of downtown Asheville. We've stayed in several area hotels, and this one is our favorite. The staff provided friendly and professional service, and the facilities are top notch. We had great food and drinks at both the street-level restaurant and the beautiful rooftop bar. Our room was attractive, roomy, and comfortable with natural light and city views from the large window. We enjoyed the high-end towels, robes, and bath products. A complimentary breakfast picnic basket was at our door each morning, and our room included a few complimentary refreshments. I will end by mentioning the Friday night Drum Circle directly across Patton Avenue from the hotel. It begins at 5:00 pm and ends at 10. Scores of people show up to participate, and The Restoration Hotel will provide enthusiastic guests with drums so they can participate. If you're like me and five hours of nonstop amateur drumming is not your thing, just ask for a room that doesn't face Patton Avenue, but don't hesitate to stay at this awesome hotel!

Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well appointed. The location is mostly ideal as you can go to most downtown to shops and restaurants without needing a vehicle.

Excellent hotel with great amenities and tasteful decor. This was a great place to stay in downtown Asheville when we wanted to park and walk to shops, restaurants, and breweries. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Valet parking was pricey but convenient. Would definitely stay again.

Our waitress(at restaurant downstairs)at dinner spent most of her time talking to the other couple and 2 of her co workers. Took a very long time for my husband to get the beer he ordered and she forgot to bring us things we asked for because she was too busy talking. The truffle fries were too salty to eat and the fruit in the breakfast basket was terrible. The apple was punctured, not sure if it was done by a rodent or human being and the Orange had brown spots on it. Absolutely not the quality of produce we would expect for the price of our stay. Very disappointing and off putting.

Beautiful and clean. Great happy hour included. The breakfast basket idea is cute but does not contain much and was not anything appetizing. We had a reservation for 4 people. It was two dry plain croissants and 2 green apples. There was a wedding right above us vibrating our room the first night, and the wedding party was loud afterwards. Will definitely stay again but will make sure there isn’t a wedding and they don’t put us directly below it.

Location is good, very pretty hotel, rooms are spacious and beds are great! Breakfast is very disappointing for the hotel rate. Also the service on the caffe is awful, no sugar in whole hotel ?? But they were taking more orders, not even the front desk was helpful or worried about the situation!

The hotel was in a very convenient location. We were able to walk to restaurants and shopping nearby. The room was modern. Bed was comfortable and AC worked well and was quiet. There was a complimentary breakfast basket delivered to the room each day. There was a special house blend coffee in the room and a coffee shop on-site for more elaborate coffee drinks. There was complimentary wine and cheese/charcuterie each evening. This was an excellent hotel and provided quality and amenities well beyond what I expected for the price.

One word to describe: RELAXATION! The minute you walk through the door and get a whiff of their signature smell it instantly calms your nervous system. It then only gets better as you are greeted by an amazing attentive staff and the calming blue decor takes you even deeper. It has now become my hotel of choice when in Asheville.
