What guests think

Reviews for Motel 6-Lufkin, TX paint a mixed picture: budget-friendly stays and occasionally clean, quiet rooms contrast with very small and dated accommodations and a surrounding area that can feel sketchy or noisy.

Several guests found the staff friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient to town, dining, and shopping. However, multiple reviews mention inconsistent cleanliness (roaches or bed bugs, stained linens, dirty bathrooms), lingering odors or smoke in non‑smoking rooms, and maintenance issues like weak or no hot water, clogged showers, thin walls, and unreliable or unsecured Wi‑Fi. Expect a basic, budget stay where experience varies by room and night.

The grounds of property are clearly mowed, but there's a lot of trash around the building, in the parking lot, and along the fence lines, especially near the dumpster. If the staff took a few minutes each day, or maybe an hour weekly to clean up, I'm sure that would greatly improve the look of the are immediately around the hotel.

The hotel isn't bad, it's basic motel 6. There isn't a pool, it says they have a pool but they do not. The rooms are kind of small, but decent. Our first night wa s great, second night there were other guests fighting extremely loud outside our rooms and breaking glass. The next two nights were quiet.

Staff are always friendly, and rooms/property in reasonable condition. Property around the buildings is not kept clean: there is litter everywhere in the parking lot and landscaped areas.

Facilities/buildings could have been cleaner, but were not filthy. Not sure my floor had been swept before I arrived... A bell at the front desk would also be appreciated, as there was no way to get help other than waiting or yelling until someone arrived. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however.

Shower was clogged and water was to the top of the shower pan. It was like this when we got to the unit. Called front desk she said she would come check it out and never came. So we couldn’t shower! Bed linens had holes and stains. Definitely wouldn’t have stayed if there was anything else available but everywhere else was booked.

We showed up at night to check into our room, and since we were so tired we went straight to sleep without really observing the room other than making sure the main faculties worked and such. When we woke up in the morning though, in just the span it took to shower and check out of the room, we noticed 3 separate roaches and 1 bug we weren’t sure what it was on the wall in different areas crawling around. Not happy about it.

Do NOT stay here. Roaches and bed bugs. I left my luggage in my vehicle. I ate my food in my rental truck. The moment I walked in I saw a roach scamper across the floor. Other tenants look like they're long term residents. Dirty, walls look like feces was wiped on them. This place is beyond gross

When we arrived at hotel, the office was locked and no one around to check us in even though it was past check in time. We had to wait 15 mins until someone showed up. The check in person seemed to be overworked and apologized for the wait and was helpful on getting us a proper room. Now the room was veery small. They claimed the bed was a queen size but it was more like a full size...very small for us. The room was clean enough but in the corners it was dirty...yuk. When I turned down the sheets, the bottom sheet was old and stained. I ended up sleeping in my clothes and couldn't wait to leave in the morning. I got little sleep.
