Q4 is an excellent choice over the super-expense of NYC hotels. There’s a fabulous spacious kitchen and rec area in the basement that never seems crowded when you want to escape your room, which is! There’s two close by subway stations so you can go anywhere in the city. Q4 is open 24/7 cuz New York never sleeps. Beds in the shared rooms are cozy, but the top bunk has no seating or place provided for sorting through luggage.

My room (private with ensuite) was facing the subway so it is VERY loud whenever a train goes by, which is all the time since MTA is 24/7.

The BEST budget stay in NYC — no contest. I’ve stayed at the Q4 over 300 times in the last 8 years. I keep coming back for three reasons: the staff, the cleanliness, and the location. The team here goes above and beyond. Argentes is exceptional — he’s the oil in a well-oiled machine and has gone above and beyond for me more times than I can count. I can’t thank him enough. Aric’s calm, stoic demeanor makes even the most hectic days easy to navigate. Steven and Austin always put a smile on my face and keep things fun. Every guest I talk to comments on how clean this place is. Rosa is a rockstar. I’ve stayed in $800-a-night hotels that aren’t as clean as the Q4. Whatever she’s paid, it should be triple — the standard she keeps is a real asset to the business. I can’t recommend this place enough!

The ac was cold, which I like. My first few nights the kitchen was dirty and messy. Sometimes guests don't clean up after themselves but the staff should do hourly or every few hours checks to wipe up after everyone. The subway is loud but also VERY convenient. The location is the best part⭐️
