Horrible stay. Checked into a 85 degree room and had to be moved. The whole hotel lost power during the night and it got so hot. The whole third floor (where they had us stay) was under construction and a complete mess. No pool or hot tub. The elevator was not working. I took a video of it, as it was so bad. I don’t know what to say. But it was a huge disappointment for me.

Our stay was good. The rooms are clean and spacious. The only problem was the shower. Couldn’t shower first day because of no hot water. It was ice cold. The next day the shower started out hot then turned ice cold. Not fun experience trying to get shampoo and conditioner out with ice cold water then water turned scalding hot. Showers/ water requires attention.

I waited about 10 minutes at the front desk to check in because no one was at the front desk. Another guest even commented "they" were always gone. I tried calling an operator but it still only rang the hotel front desk. The only rooms available were the suites this weekend. There was no hot water, only fluctuations between cold and tepid water.

The hot tub jets did not work. The shower knob was loose and did not keep the temp correct… tried booking out, but no one was at the desk , called the number no one answered. Parking garage did not give bar code… was charged multiple time for parking?? Called service number and auto phone call kept hanging up.

Property plus rooms have a strange arrangement--not bad just peculiar. Really interesting to find the elevator to the parking garage. Parking at $20.00 per night seems pretty high. Hard to find the front entrance.

The customer service was outstanding and you can’t go wrong with the location of this hotel!! Only thing this hotel needs is some updating and renovation to their pool and hot tub. If your looking at a hotel for there pool & hot tub this isn’t the one for you. The pool felt like hose water and the hot tub is just warm. But overall we enjoyed our stay!!

Dirty. The vents were covered in dust, dirty toilet, old dirty silverware under the bed. The bed was like sleeping on a brick wall. The bathroom door was falling off the hinges and wouldn’t shut. The toilet paper roll holder was broken and the roll would fall off when we tried to use it.

Our room smelled like pizza when we first got into it. There were multiple surfaces in the room that had smears and grime. The bed seemed clean so we went ahead and stayed in it because we were so tired and didn’t want to deal with getting another room. Any other night this would have been unacceptable.

Good location. The layout of the building was somewhat confusing. Our room window faced a blank outside wall. Seemed to be doing a lot of updating and construction. Hallway carpets and elevator floors were dirty and stained. Bed was very comfortable and room was well appointed with a kitchen and bar area and clean. Wall light on bed wall was broken and shelf in bathroom was about to fall off along with the tp holder. Reported to front desk. Very good selection of options for breakfast.

My son went to the swimming pool area and stepped on glass while walking to the pool. Some blood but not serious. Our fold out couch bed had large metal spring sticking out of the side! I considered it dangerous! We had an extra pillow and blanket brought up. When the lady delivered the pillow and blanket we showed her the metal spring sticking out of the fold out bed. She agreed it was a danger and she would tell her manager and have them call me. Quite disappointing no follow up from the manager! I will say the staff at the front desk when we checked in were extremely polite and professional! Due to NO follow up from the manager we will not stay at this hotel again. This is sad to see for the awesome staff at the front desk they have to have this underperforming management! we stayed in room 301 checked in on 10/24/2024 aproximatly 3pm pillows delivered and report of the dangerous fold out bed on 10/24/2024 aprox 9pm wish I would have taken pictures of the injury and fold out bed as I see now that I could have uploaded the pictures quite disappointing.........

At check-in we were not told that 2 hotels share the parking ramp and it makes a difference which entrance you use to attempt access to the hotel. After reloading the vehicle and moving it to the "correct" area, we were able to follow the winding path to our room. The room was clean and cool and comfortable. No internet access made the free Wi-Fi useless until Saturday AM. Showers were a completely random experience. No hot water for about the first 5-6 minutes Saturday morning, then numerous slugs of air from most of the faucets, AND then I got water warm enough to take a quick shower. My wife used it almost immediately after I did and she ran out of hot water. Sunday started out better, water much hotter much faster, but once again one quick shower was about all the hot water available. At check-out, no one asked how our stay was, or mentioned that there is problem with the infrastructure, or even asked which room we were checking out of. Not worth the cost and I will have think twice about the value of Marriott properties going forward.

Tommy at the front desk demonatrated a true level of what it means to take pride in one's work. Tommy excels in effective communication by being able to quickly read people, anticipate their needs and offer what they are truly seeking as a guest in the Residence Inn. Tommy made our stay enjoyable simply from him just being his charismatic self. The breakfast was fantastic! The attached parking ramp created a sense of security for my vehicle and was well worth the $20/day. I will definitely stay here next time I'm back in DSM.

Perfect location to walk anywhere you needed. Front staff was extremely helpful. He let us check in early, even when we didn't ask to. We were just asking about how parking worked until we could check in. We loved the large patio area. And everything felt very safe. We will definitely stay here again for an Iowa Cubs game.

I absolutely loved that the hotel was within walking distance to allot of things to do and places to eat! I enjoy watching trains pass and my room had a front row seat to all of the passing trains! Everything was great……. The only complaint I have is having to wait at least 15 minutes to check out due to the lady not being at the desk and not having a box to drop my room keys. I was worried that I would be late to catch my flight.

Arch at reception was so helpful and patient. I was traveling with my 87 year old father and Arch helped me to make sure he was in a safe and comfortable room. He really saved me and my mental health! Much appreciated!

We were in town for the IMT marathon. For 4 years we stayed at a different hotel, but they were booked solid. So we picked this one instead. We are very glad we did. This hotel was much better and closer to the downtown areas we use. We will be staying here more in the future!

Good location in downtown - can walk to many restaurants and it is next to a river walking path. Clean, can cook in room if you want since it had all basic necessities. Breakfast was nice had a lot of options including items that were gluten free.

I had a very nice stay with my little granddaughter. She loved everything about the room! The hotel was great walking access to lots of great night life and places to eat, as well as the Saturday downtown farmer's market.

Awsome place to stay, quick walk in the sky walks to get to events and places to eat and shop. Parking ramp for the hotel making for an easy parking every time. Inside of hotel was great and awsome breakfast service.

The TV did not work and could not be fuxed, so we were moved to a construction floor. The swimming pool and spa were unavailable. The beautiful pastries on the site were actually muffins in plastic bags. "Sleeps 4" included a nice king bed and a pullout sofa with and extra thin mattress pad that came with a package of sheets. So really only a room for two. There were homeless people in the area, and two big blue dumpsters at the front door. All of this, plus $20 a day to park.
