This is an old, historic property with a lot of character. Breakfast was great. Didn't expect the shared shower room but it worked out because few other guests to compete.

First let's realize this is not the Hilton. It is a comfortable low cost accomodation in an excellant location, with some nice amenities. Coffee, filtered water and abundant clean ice available. Ok lobby, small but welcoming. Actual key to your room that you leave at the front desk so no losing it outside the hotel. This is an older venue but there are 2 elevators. My room reminded me of a college dorm. Room was small, I paid for a private BRoom with shower again small but adequate. Breakfast 7-10 M- Sat with the usual things. Breakfast room open and nice. Many historical references about the place are around. Older furnished sitting rooms/meeting rooms. This venue has a heavy connection with the Catholic faith and apparently many clergy will stay here. It is in an excellant location. Walkable to the Chelsea pier area as well MSG and Penn Station. The place can be noisey My room was more towards the back, banging doors at all hours, apparently your phone conversations canbe heard as someone banged on my door to " keep it down please". For the price in Manhattan, location and quaintness I would stay here again.

Stayed 1 night

I had booked 2 nights in Sept using a 3rd party site. A 3rd night was needed but not available on the site. So I called reservations at the hotel directly and told them I needed a 3rd night to combine with our Sept dates..the hotel booked July 19 instead of sept..we complained but were still charged for this night even though I'd previously paid for it ..in Canadian dollars we ended up paying $650 for 1 night in this hotel ! Too bad as good location...but they will not take responsibility for what is clearly their mistake. Will never stay there again and will tell others not to. Staff claimed it was my fault ..I've been booking hotels for many years and this has never happened before !

Easy access to subway. Lovely Catholic themes throughout. Old building. Nice staff. “OK”/not great area, but able to go anywhere the subway does quickly. Great for quick stay. Breakfast was wonderful. Felt like an upscale hostel! Would come back.
