We loved this hotel! Absolutely stunning. The 1800s charmed with the modern renovations blew us away. We enjoyed the tranquility of the space without a ton of foot traffic. It really felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend! My wife and I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The Bookhouse is a wonderful concept! Prioritizing books, making them accessible everywhere, is delightful. There were adventurous and playful touches, including the secret hide-away on the first floor, behind a bookcase. Housing a hotel in a very old house is another terrific choice. The restoration process is clearly in progress; it's understandable that it's a long-term project. Drawbacks were largely fixable. Whatever scent is used in the house, apparent on the threshold, overwhelming inside, is objectionable and for me, impossible to ignore. The room itself was attractive. However, the mattress was too soft, which was hard on the back. It was clean almost everywhere, but somehow an ancient take-out box with mummified food had been left on the bathroom windowsill, behind the curtains.
