Kelebek Cave Hotel

Book this place for the amazing experience and service. It’s not a super luxury hotel, you’re staying in caves that were homes of old civilizations that have been converted to hotel rooms. They’re unique and a lot of fun and in my opinion a better experience than a 5 star luxury hotel. This place has a nice clean pool with towels and beach chairs. The views are insanely incredible and the entire area is a labyrinth that we’ve had a great time exploring. Please don’t stay here if you have trouble going up and down stairs. The entire place is a maze of staircases. The perfect example of building around existing buildings vs the other way around. We preferred the Seten restaurant for breakfast/ lunch and dinner hookah. Great views all around, don’t worry about missing the balloons views, you just need to step outside your door and there are cushions and seating all over the place.

Excellent unique boutique cave hotel with excellent views of the balloons. Staff was kind annd helpful and the resident cats are friendly. Food is delicious. Hammam massage is a very unique experience. Highly recommend menemin for breakfast and the lamb rack special for dinner.

This is my first time in Cappadocia, and I absolutely wanted to stay at a cave hotel. Kelebek is gorgeous. The staff is amazing. They would go out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and happy. Our hot air balloon ride got canceled the day we booked it and we really wanted to go, but it was fully booked all over Cappadocia. But they went to work to find us the best deal and excellent balloon company because they have connections. Hedi, the receptionist was particularly wonderful: patient, kind, cheerful, very helpful. Lots of variations for breakfast. The only thing I wish they had was a fitness center for guests to use. It would make the experience so much more complete.

Great location in the town of goreme. Walking distance to town centre and air museum only 20 minute walk. Unfortunately we were unable to do the balloon ride as it was cancelled 2 days in row because of the weather. The terrace location is excellent for watching the sunrise and the balloons. Sultan Cave hotel is next door as well and you have access to their terrace. Ample supply of water bottles and tea/coffee available throughout the day. Breakfast buffet daily included in room. Hamam at hotel was also lovely.

No gym - only drawback. But it was great! Food was good!

the staff were amazing, came through in the clutch and helped out in the last minute when our hot air balloon was canceled due to weather conditions. buffet breakfast is a nice addition. smaller rooms leave a little to be desired, had some A/C issues and the bathrooms are tight with no fan. the pool area is nice with a great view and atmosphere over the town, however the pool itself is ice cold and very small. not child friendly as it is all 1.50m deep. overall a great option in Capaddocia

I’ve stayed at Kelebek 3 times and it’s my favorite! I love that when you stay here you also get access to the pools (indoor, outdoor heated, etc.) at their several other sister properties which are a 5 minute walk. I also love the rooftop spaces for tea, wine, and snacks! The hospitality is wonderful. We had staff come to our room to start a chimney fire on one of the chilly evenings! Blankets are also available for chilly nights on the rooftops! Also, the kitties, obviously. Short walk (although huffing and puffing a little lol) to the city center. Also love to hear the early morning call to prayer!

My room was beautiful and clean, I was very happy with the hotel. Walking distance into town, Staff was very helpful and kind, the spa service I had was amazing (Turkish bath and massage) Watching the balloons in the morning from the deck was perfect and not crowded at all. We loved this hotel. It was right in the heart of Goreme. The room was very spacious with a fireplace. The Turkish breakfast was very delicious. We were there at the end of September so the pool was cold, but you can visit a sister hotel down the street with indoor and outdoor heated pools which was very nice. I only saw a few parking spaces in front of the hotel. Taxi service is not that expensive. I paid for most things by credit card and US dollars. I didn't use my Turkish Lira because I didn't get enough out of the bank. I thought the bank gave me a $100 but it was $3 in lira ):

When we got there, they had just had some snow fall the day prior. Understandably, some things were beyond their control. Nevertheless, in order for us to reach our room, we had to go up two outside metal stairways This meant that the steps were icy. Employees were clearing out the ice and snow, yet this wasn’t the case on the stairs. There were no accidents during our time there, yet I can’t imagine, what if we had been older people with limitations. As soon as we opened the door to our room, we immediately noticed the stagnant stench of raw sewage. We were forced to open the windows to our room even though it was below freezing outside. In addition to the poor smell, on our final day we smelled cigarette smoke. Neither my wife nor I smoke, so we are very sensitive to this. I don’t know how the smell was coming in, but it was a huge turn off. We noticed this when were coming in to grab our bags right before check-out. the morning after, when we were about to shower, we noticed black mold on the shower floor. I wish we had seen this earlier; otherwise, we would’ve said something. Lastly, a friend accompanied us on our trip. He had his own room in a separate part of the property. We were all away from the property the majority of the day. Upon our return, he found out that other people were inside his room. He found out that there was a mistake and was moved out without his knowledge. He was placed in a very nice room, but we didn’t appreciate the poor communication.

We arrived by night bus in the early morning and were offered breakfast even before check in. Staff also hurry up with the cleaning and our room is ready by 10am well before check in time at 2pm and got upgraded. Wifi speed very good but there are still inherent deficiency of cave hotel such as white debris/dust from the ceiling and shower water is a bit weak and not hot enough. On our last night there was unstable electricity in our room and went all dark for 2 seconds and repeated four or five times.

The property is well maintained, but our bathroom does have a weird smell. The property has amazing view of the hot air balloon in the morning. However, it is up a big hill, therefore, you will need to walk up 2 hills to get back from the main town.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Loved the little fireplace in the sitting room although we did not need to use it. Staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was amazing with large variety and the staff was very helpful. Perfect location. Easy walk into town for activities or food.

３泊しました。洞窟ホテルということで、雰囲気はとても良いです。また、高台に位置しているので、ホテルから街を眺めることができます。 日本語が出来るスタッフの方がひとりいて、とても助かりました。そのせいか、他の日本人の滞在客もいました。 滞在中、部屋のマイクアップが夕方になっても出来ていないことが１回あり、少し困りました。ツアーから戻り、疲れていたので、早くリラックスしたかったです。30分後くらいにはやってもらいましたが。 全体として、眺めと雰囲気の良い高級な洞窟ホテルという印象です。ハネムーンにもオススメ出来ると思います。

not really satisfied with the cleanliness of the room. the bathroom stinks and nothing was replaced like towels or soaps the next day. i should've booked with Sultan cave suites which is just a few feet away. will not go back to their hotel

Kelebek was super clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, the wifi was extremely spotty and didn’t work most of the time there. Our shower also was very difficult to work- it was either very very hot or very cold. The bed was not very comfortable, but we appreciated the black out curtains. The breakfast each day was also good. Overall, we’re not sure if we would stay again. It’s a really lovely property, but for the price, we felt like it was quite expensive for what it was.

The location was perfect. We loved the breakfast area and buffé. We stayed off-peak season in a suite and although we never got to see any balloons because of the weather and the time of the year the stunning views and original hotel made worth its while. We stayed in a suite room, it appeared smaller in reality than how I’ve imagined in the photos but it was still cute and cozy. We would stay again!

Honey moon Room was dark inside, with no view. Super cute layout and decor though. Aircon was too loud … needed earplugs, washroom down the stairs from room … not ideal with overactive bladder… but overall the property was magical! Loved it, would go back . Also pool is a cold plunge.

Lovely hotel with great service. Little to no AC but not terribly necessary. However if this is important then you may want to consider elsewhere. No wifi in rooms, so we had to go to reception. Was only problem for us because it was a working trip. Otherwise, great stay.

A fantastic boutique hotel. Our room is carved into the rock. But the bathroom is all modern. The breakfast is terrific. You have several terrace seating area all with great view of Gorem’s unique rock formation and architecture. The staff is very nice and helpful. In the morning you can watch all the colorful hot air balloons flying over.

Clean and comfortable with really good views. The staff were great and the included breakfast was very good. Our room (number 9) was on a mid landing at the bottom of a set of stairs that seemed to be at the cross roads for access to other rooms and also had the housekeeping storage outside…so was pretty noisy at all hours. Fully recommend staying at Kelebek but try and dodge room 9.

Beautiful area. Very helpful and friendly staff. Amazing breakfast. Unfortunately, we should have a TV in our room but our room was without. Also our room was on the ground floor located underneath the restaurant which was very busy and everyone was passing by next to our window. We felt like there is no privacy. Other than that can not complain.

We stayed in room 26 Fairy Chimney. Loved the cave experience, decor, view!! Front desk staff were extremely helpful from booking tours to shuttle to airport to delivering towels after hours. Breakfast was delicious with a huge buffet style set up, included in our package. Would definitely recommend this place!

Extremely Disappointed – Serious Dietary Negligence and Broken Promise I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Kelebek Special Cave Hotel & Spa. When ordering breakfast, I specifically requested that no beef be included in my omelette for religious reasons. I made this request very clear to the staff, and when my breakfast was served, I confirmed again that there was no beef in it. To my horror, I discovered meat (beef) inside the omelette. This was completely unacceptable and showed a serious lack of care and respect for guests’ religious and dietary requirements. I immediately complained to the manager, who apologized and took full responsibility for the mistake. As a gesture of goodwill, I was told that the 50% cost of one night’s stay would be refunded and that I should contact Expedia to arrange this. However, despite following their instructions, the refund has now been refused by the hotel. This experience has left me deeply disappointed. Not only was my religious dietary request ignored, but the hotel also failed to honour their own promise of compensation. I would not recommend Kelebek Special Cave Hotel & Spa to anyone who expects professionalism, honesty, or respect for religious beliefs and dietary needs.

What a fantastic stay all around. The views are amazing, breakfast was A+, the staff were so accommodating and beyond helpful and friendly. They were always very responsive to any question when we communicated via WhatsApp. We are looking forward to our next trip to cappadosia.

This was a great hotel. Very clean, very friendly & helpful staff. They had very nice areas around the hotel to sit and just enjoy the view or even have lunch there. The restaurants were close by. It was an amazing experience and this hotel just made it better. For any excursion we needed they responded right away. They were so helpful figuring out transportation for everything. Loved this place so much.

Kelebek turned out to be a great choice of hotel for visiting Goreme. From the moment we arrived the staff, especially Yousef, were really helpful and attentive. We received a room upgrade on arrival and the views from the room’s terrace and all around the property are great. We stayed in a classic cave room, which was fun. A standout feature was breakfast, with one of the best selections and taste I’ve seen in a hotel in a long time. The hotel also organized airport transfer, a tour (Green tour), and a hot air balloon ride, all of which were well organized and with great guides and operators. If anyone is after being in the middle of the action and wants to be well looked after, head to Kelebek hotel.

The check-in was too slow.

We enjoyed our stay at Kelebek, the staff was very friendly, helpful and truly depicting the Turkish hospitality. Gizem, Kadir and Yousef, applaud to all who helped out with sick family member and assisting with late night service and calling medical services to the room. We enjoyed the variety of Turkish breakfast, Turkish Hamman spa experience and our beautiful cave cabin. The hotel staff arranged rides to the town, all activities and even helped us extend the stay. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable at all times. We’ll surely be back and recommend our friends visiting Kapadokya to stay at Kelebek.

Our stay at this hotel was excellent - the views were stunning and the place was very peaceful. The staff made the experience even better, nothing was too much for them whenever we asked them for anything. A special shout out to Mr Yusuf who helped to get my hat back that I had accidentally left in our airport shuttle on the way to the hotel!

The hotel was good, but it lacks a lot of customer service. Most importantly it lacks personnel that can speak English in the restaurant area and it is very poor attended. I love the room view , the hotel needs more personnel that are friendly to tourist that don't speak Turkish. I have travelled all over the world and it is important to communicate what your needs. I was not satisfied at all with the restaurant service. The spa was very nice and the girls were very attentive. Overall I gave the experience a 4 because I felt for what I paid it was not worth it. The videos promoting shows a way different stay.

Beautiful views and great location. Can easily walk to the center of town for shopping and restaurants.

Cappadoccia is a quaint city that has an old world charm, so it is a must visit destination for quite a few people. Kelebek is a decent choice for a hotel here...not the best nor the worst. It s absolutely not built for people who are not mobile as there a lot of steps and inclines all over this property and almost any property in the area.

Hotelin yeri gayet iyi. Sabah erken kalkıp balloning leri seyretme imkanı vardı. Manzarası mükemmel. Yakınlarında bir çok restaurant var ve hepsi kaliteli yemek servis ediyorlar. Park yeri sorun olabiliyor, yerler çok kısıtlı. Bizim için tek mahsur yatakların konforu idi. Yatağın yan bölgeleri çökük idi.

Absolutely fantastic hotel in the perfect spot in Goreme. High enough to have fantastic views but also handy to walk into town. Staff were lovely , breakfast was great, various spaces to chill (top terrace is fantastic for watch the balloons in the morning. Shared transfers organised by the hotel were great value and easy

Loved the setting of the hotel and the surroundings. Very unique. The rooms were fantastic. The only criticism is that being vegetarians there was a very limited choice and the restaurants in the hotel would not make some dish for us which was not on the menu. We requested this due to a lack of vegetarian choice.

Fantastic room - highly recommend dairy chimney room #26 if available. So unique to the area. Breakfast buffet was spectacular with many vegan and gluten free options. Would stay here again if lucky enough to revisit Cappadocia.

Great restaurant on site. Breakfast served every morning and we enjoyed two dinners in the restaurant with awesome views of the town and surrounding area.

This is obviously the best Hotel in Gorem. The restaurant associated with the hotel is the best restaurant in Gorem and we tried many of the top pics. Excellent place, say hi to the cats!
