Americas Best Value Inn Rancho Palos Verdes

Check in was easy, the front desk guy was kind and quick. The door to our room looked rusted and not trustworthy of staying locked. The bath towels are sized for children. The parking lot is a nightmare! It took us 1 hour to get a parking spot any time we left. There is ZERO cell phone service. The beds are not true to their sizing. We were able to leave a truck loaded for a move in the parking lot and it was left alone, thankfully. The hotel was pretty quiet for the most part. The beds sound HORRIBLE when tossing and turning. The air conditioning definitely could use a cleaning. There is ZERO sink/counter space in the bathroom. The plugs to the light does not work. The tv is extremely small, better bring your glasses if you want to see it.

Check in was fast and easy. The only negative thing I have to say is about their parking lot because it is cramped and they have to share the parking lot with another business. At night when the other business closed, there was a lot of parking thought. Overall, my family and I felt safe.

Nice room and all but horrible bed. The Bed was completely overdue for replacement as it sunk down very low due to the springs or something being wore completely out. Parking is challenging after 4 pm as there is a great steakhouse next door that shares the spaces.

The location was decent but parking SUCKS, its between a busy steak house. Check in was easy, the person at the desk was nice. Room was basic, upon scanning around i made my way to the bathroom and saw well i don't know what it was. Either blood or feces on the wall next to the shower. Told the front desk and showed pictures. Asked what they could do or if we could be comped but was told he didn't know if he could and apologized for house keeping missing that. Due to it being missed again the next day my partner bought gloves and ended up cleaning the wall. The place is decent and gets the job done. Towels are super thin and also when pulling out the parking lot its hard to see on coming traffic due cars parked on the street (steak house) be very cautious!

Parking is horrible. There is a steakhousr in the front, so many spots are taken by restaurant goers. Checking was the good, but the person was very rude when checking out.

Only issue was that motel adjoins a steakhouse and when the steakhouse closed there was a lot of people (employees?) and loud talking right outside the door in the parking lot that awakened me and went on for quite a while. I poked my head out the door a couple times and they said, “Sorry” but continued on

It's quite old and worn, and on a busy street. However, it was clean, and inside the room quite quiet. I only saw hotel staff when I checked in, but the coffee for the coffee maker was replenished while I was out. There was parking directly outside the room.

Sometimes when you're traveling on a road trip, you have to settle. Staying at this location was one of those times. By a happenstance, I found myself in this location during a roadtrip. With little forethought or research I booked this place for the night. Immediately upon entering the parking lot and knew I made a mistake. The motel sits adjacent to a popular restaurant, and there was absolutely no parking. This typically would not be an issue if I'm driving my beater Toyota 4runner but I was using my Porsche Turbo and it suddenly became a big problem. Yeah, I know first world problems. But if you own a nice car, you would have the same concerns. Wants worse was that the spots are narrow and roadway is very tight. Big SUVs and incompetent drivers WILL likely touch your car. I waited for almost three hours before a spot opened up that I deemed safe enough. Once again, this would not have been a problem if I was in my Toyota 4runner or any other car that I didn't care about. The room was okay and quiet enough. I ended up not eating that night because I was waiting for parking. I also didn't want to walk down the street.Looking for food at night. I didn't feel threatened, but I don't like the tempt fate. I'm a San Francisco firemen and i'm very well aware of myself and my surroundings. But, I am only one person, so be it as it may.... im good. Another note for car enthusiasts. The driveway is very steep and you will likely scrape the front of the car.

Theres you get what you pay for and then there's this place. "Queen" bed was really a full. Dirty doesnt even begin to describe this place. Its worn down. Fridge doesnt look like its been cleaned in ages, freezer has so much build up on it. Floors are disgusting. Bring shower shoes, walked out of shower and the bottoms of my feet turned black after walking on the floors. Floors are also damaged and torn up. Drawer and doors are all barely hanging on or not on the tracks. Comforter had a ton of burns in it. Really dont know when the last time this place was really cleaned. Parking also isn't the best. If you're okay with paying more for a low quality motel 6 then go for it otherwise look elsewhere.

Just awful, room is crazy small and in a shady neighborhood. Bathroom looks like a war zone and had cockroaches, even the ac unit had a car air freshener to mask the smell. Bed is hard and like sleeping on rocks. Would not recommend it to anyone.

There are bed bugs and they clearly don't care . Offered another room and we asked for a refund we were only there from 10 pm to 1120 pm and no it is a health issue clearly . Clearly irresponsible staff

Room was filthy and smelt bad. Bugs in the bathroom. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Would not recommend.

This hotel was disgusting and completely run down. The man at the front desk was fine but definitely not super friendly. The room was so run down and gross I couldn’t wait to check out. Splatter on the walls, yucky walls, no smoke alarm, the lock on the door hardly worked. Holes all in the walls, tore up bed frame. So bad. Do not stay here.

Room was not cleaned daily

The place is dirty, lets just begin with that. I think anytime a place calls themselves "Americas Best..." its fair to think its not, cause it never is. The bolt to my door was broken. The bathroom door would get stuck. The carpet felt like it was never cleaned. Parking is impossible if the restaurant sharing the space is open. They charge for ice, and its behind a cage. would avoid unless you have no other option. Not worth it.

I complained to the front desk. Showed them pics of the moldy coffee pot and trash in the room. The desk agent told me there was nothing he could do. Then tried to complain I smoked in the stinking room. Terrible, dirty rooms and poor customer service. This place is trash!

The motel room that I was in looked like it had been remodeled, but it was poorly done and falling apart. The comforter had a large burn hole in it, trim was peeling off and hanging off of shelves, when you turned on the air conditioner it smelled foul, fridge was not cold enough, microwave dirty on the inside, etc. It was conveniently located for my needs, but I just can't stay there again. It's gross.

They do not clean your room unless you continuously ask them, I satayed 4 days only one day was the room was cleaned after almost begging and tipping the maid.

Room was very noisy from adjacent rooms

While the restroom was decent (newer fixtures, modern finishes), the entire room was pretty worn. Lots of dings, wear, and large scuffs. The bed was advertised as a queen, but it was narrower than a true queen bed, not a bid deal. The room would not get cool, no matter how long the AC was on for. For the price, it was a fine stay in short notice.

Noisy rooms due to old single lane windows on a busy street. Nice pillows , though.

The sole reason for the stay was the jetted tub and it had cracks in the bottom of the tub their were pit marks in the tub also looked dirty i believe it looked that way due to the cracks in the tub.

Pics do not reflect the actual property, it was definitely a lot smaller than pictures displayed, bathroom had hair on the floor, the door had a gap and you can see through the gap into the room , our room keys didn’t work after the first day but door could be opened without key card i used a debit card to just swipe the lock bc of that gap i mentioned and the door just pushed open, the tub didn’t drain properly, we had to wait about 10 mins for it to drain otherwise it’d overflow, when we mentioned how we got the door open the hotel manager just walked away.

Overall our stay was good. Great location for what we had planned. The one thing that really really needs addressing was the mattress! It was the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on. My wife felt the same as I do. I expressed this to there front desk woman. Hope they invest in some good quality mattresses!

The location was accessible to everything, walking distance to stores and food restaurants. Hotel is good if just for sleeping and will be out most of the time. The room we got was ok, the tub was clogged per the front desk was because of the nearness to the ocean.

The furniture was old and not in good condition. The chair for the desk had a loose leg and the rest of the furniture was damaged and looked from 80s or 90s. There was a lot of road noise and you could hear the water running from nearby rooms when someone was using it. You get what you pay for.

Pretty nasty place. Loud. Doors in bad shape inside and exterior. Window didn’t latch. Needs remodel bad.

Very comfortable hotel for a short stay. It could use a little love on the interiors, but otherwise everyone was very professional and helpful.

The room was decent, some what clean. however, the front desk personal that checked us in went in the middle of the night to ask under who's name was the room rented to. after someone was trying to get in at midnight. My spouse when he heard someone attempting to open shouted that the room was occupied. then the person went to the front desk and had the person come confirm. I was with my spouse and child 4 years old. this should not have happened.

The property was well worn and the staff were a bit rude. The staff at reception tried to get us to take a room with a single bed when we had reserved 2 Queens. It was a good thing i had kept my notes. Also everytime we turned the TV off we had to get someone from the front decsk to come to the room to turn it back on. On the positive side the beds were comfortable and the location is good for shopping and dining.

We needed a place for last minute. We had a funeral to go to and service from the two different desk associates were amazing. Both very nice. Only reason wasn’t a 5 star review was a lot of things that needed to be fixed in the room. Besides that was worth the price.

I rented 2 rooms and my room #209 the AC didn’t work so my room was hot and had to leave my door half opened until 1:00 am so that my room could cool down. Couldn’t make a complaint because office is left unattended for long periods of time. I checked out at 8:00am and dropped the keys through the office door crack because no one was there. Office needs more attention so that customer reaches someone in a faster way.

He didn’t really understand us. He didn’t speak English it looked like kind of difficult to understand or to talk to.

Dirty room , outdated furniture, big puddle of water next to the bed, old thin towels. bad attitude from person at front desk, he was mad I've checked in around 1:00 am. I've had to wait 15 minutes outside the lobby for him to assist me with check in, called several times and ive had to ring the bell multiple times until he finally came out to let me into the lobby with a real bad attitude.

I really like the customer service. The workers are very friendly and nice. The rooms are OK. You can tell that they are trying to make the best of the building that they have to work with. The surrounding area is good. There’s food and store is very close by within walking distance

Doesn’t look it but the beds and pillows are actually really comfortable. It’s nothing fancy but it’s clean and a very reasonably priced, also in a nice part of town with plenty of parking, good if you have a large truck

I liked that it was easily accessible for food, the two days that i was there. Not very far from the 405, and gas station an liquor store, were both within walking distance. There is a skate park directly across the street if that interests you. I will definitely keep this place in mind for next time.

It is a $20 uber ride away from the Port of Los Angeles so it fit our needs for one night.

Good basic hotel that is convenient to the Port of Los Angeles. No frills, but fine for a short stay. Plenty of dining options within walking distance.

Attended a wedding just about a mile away and stayed here one night.. Great little hotel. Only disappointment was there was no breakfast offered.

Rented three rooms for our family. Two 2-bed rooms were okay (relatively cheap but clean, adequate for night), the third 1-bed room was barely adequate, very sparsely furnished, but clean. The whole building was very old, in need of a lot of maintenance, the staff was responsive when asked for something, but not very communicative overall. Stay somewhere else if you can. HOWEVER, the restaurant in front of the hotel, Think Prime, was great, with a great happy hour and food.

Close to a great steak house! Room needs some paint touch up.

Place clean n place quiet. All food area close by..there's steak house, ramen , Papa John pizza n Carl Jr n etc..in 1 to 2 miles radius. Price not bad. Shower pressure great. Toilet work great. Staff nice n service great. I recommend this place

The room was run down...you can tell it's an old hotel...and it smelled funny. But the area is safe and everything was clean. Located right behind a steakhouse which was convenient and food was good.
