We had the best stay at the Fairchild and highly recommend it over the mess of conglomerate hotels and chains in New Orleans! It's a one-of-a-kind family run business with a type of charm that is inimitable. Beatriz, the owner and manager, was lovely and welcoming, chatting with us over delicious breakfast she put out each morning downstairs and sharing her favorite spots in town for po' boys and pints of beer. She's lived in New Orleans almost her entire life and gave us so many great tips. The house is Victorian-style, built in 1814, and it's both held onto its old beauty and also been maintained and updated so that it felt clean and comfortable. It's in a fantastic location and on a quiet street. The four-poster bed was such a treat to sleep in. Thank you Beatriz and team - we'll be back again!

We spent the weekend at this charming old house, and had a lovely stay! Everyone there is so kind, helpful, and welcoming! The breakfast was also great! The bed and breakfast is located near by everything as well! It is an old house, but it’s part of the charm and history of New Orleans! Although we do wish that our room was a little bit cleaner, there was a lot of dust, we found some old socks and old chewing gum on the floor, and the AC is really noisy and it unfortunately woke us up several times during the night. But! We enjoyed our stay non the less! Also free parking which was great:)

Great location really close to a street tram stop. Only 10mins on the street car to Bourbon street. Restaurants and bars around the area. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great that we could park the car inside a gated area. Felt safe with locked gate to enter property.
