When I arrived at check out the person working behind the desk( Derek) was being rude to an elderly guest as she was trying to ask about where to get ice , since the machine near by wasn’t working. After she walked away I paid for my room and asked how was the easiest way to reach my room. Derek pointed to the left and walked away . When we figured out that the other door he pointed at was not available we walked around to the front went to the left as instructed only to find the elevator not working. We climbed the 3 flights of stairs only to find the hallway was blocked right before our room. Walked back down the 3 flights across the building and climbed the 3 flights again to find our room . It was clean and comfortable despite the fans in hall way constantly running to help dry the walls from the apparent flood of water . The staff in the morning could not have been nicer but overall I would definitely not recommend this hotel if the allow Derek to work there . He was rude and dismissive.

The first thing to understand about this property is that there is a set of train tracks about 300 yards away from the hotel. So, be prepared for the trains to run past every couple of hours or so. Additionally, as of my stay (August 2026), the entire area is under construction. So, waze and google maps were not accurate in trying to get me to the hotel. Overall, the hotel was fine. It's a La Quinta. You kind of know what you're getting when you book there. However, I was placed on the second floor, and the "down" button for the elevator was pushed into the wall. It did not seem to work at all. You had to push the "up" button, and then either ride the elevator up a floor to go down, or wait for it to reset and then select the first floor. There were certainly some wear issues on the floors and walls especially in the room areas. The lobby was clean and fine. Breakfast was what you would expect for a discount hotel. TL;DR - I probably wouldn't stay at this specific property again. I was unfamiliar with the Fresno area, but would look for something without train tracks nextdoor when booking a future stay in the area.

The door to my room and the door to my bathroom were both grimy and were very obviously in need of a wipe down. Flooring was damaged. The tub was leaking badly. The ac unit controls were partially broken. The back of the room door had its wood veneer peeled off and had not been repaired. The bathroom countertop had pulled away from the wall. There was a long black hair on the side of the tub. Other areas of the lobby and hallway were acceptable
