The building is being renovated so no pool. I called to ask about it and was told they have one available and the front desk person basically called me liar and said no one would have told me that. Not nice. The room we stayed in was newly renovated. It still was not worth what we paid. If you’re on a road trip just skip this area all together.

The room was spacious, bed quite comfortable, linens high quality, water pressure terrific, breakfast delicious. A new base and individual pavers were being installed under the large porte-cochere during my 4-night stay. I hope the carpets get a good cleaning afterwards. The recent renovation is very attractive using high quality materials and a fresh and attractive design.

The hotel staff was super friendly. The common areas were clean and the beds were comfortable. The pool was small but it was still a pool. My room was awful. When you open the door you immediately get assaulted with the smell of mold or mildew, possibly both and a hint of apple scented cleaner. The bathroom had multiple mold stains on the walls, the wall paper was bubbled and peeling down all over. The towel rack was half hanging off the wall and the shower curtain rod had been replaced but was so high you couldn't keep the water in the shower. Some tiles in the bathroom had little to no grout and were loose and moved when you walked on them. The toilet seat only had one bolt. The walls in the living area were worse. The wallpaper was just hanging off the walls. One corner of the room had a piece of wood nailed to the wall to hold the wallpaper up. The ceiling had tell tale signs of water damage. We had had to open the windows to get any relief from the smell. Ill be amazed if I dont come down with something in the next few days. Again the staff was great but the building needs work. I would not stay here again.

This was a quick stop for us to sleep during night driving - bed was new and comfortable and sheets were clean. Unusual smell in halls - not bad but very perfume like - over powering almost, mold on wall of bathroom and window tracks.

Mattress was sunken in. There was a silver fish in the tub. No prior notice of on going construction/renovation. If you’re thinking of booking, call ahead to see if construction is still on going. (This comment is as of Feb 2025) When we went to concierge about our issues they could not offer us another room is the hotel we fully booked, however, they did compensate us with some points to use at a later stay and offered extra bedding for the pull out.

The property itself is fine enough, although it is situated by a fairly busy route. They could use some trash pickup time to cleanup some areas around the lawn but its not horrible. We had issues getting checked in as there was no manager and the desk staff were elsewhere in the hotel for 20 minutes. The kitchen and lobby were clean, however the elevator and our room were relatively dirty. The bed was OK but the bathroom floor and vents were dirty. The room was set to 80 when we arrived and we attempted to turn it to Cool and set it down to 60 but it continued to heat. A lot of stuff in the hotel requires some TLC, the elevator control panel was loose and our bathroom door lock was sticking which caused it to lock from the inside. There arent any USB ports in the room so youd want to bring a AC adapter. The mattress and couch were also old. There isnt /great/ soundproofing between floors, so if you stay I'd recommend staying on the 3rd floor because you can hear footsteps from below. All in all, if the management group that is operating this Holiday Inn Express invested in a deep clean crew to come in and spruce stuff up, as well as cleanup outside, and replace the mattresses and furniture and patch some of the walls from scuffs / settling cracks etc then it would probably be fine. Also, if this location is having staffing issues then in my opinion the franchising / operating group should be subsidizing them with aid.

Window didn't close all the way and the room was the closest to the hiway of all rooms so road noise was excessive all night. Glass was cracked probably from someone trying really hard to get it to shut all the way. USB outlet didn't work so my phone was dead in the morning. And the TV kept coming on by itself with just a black screen intermittently all night until I unplugged it. All in, seems like the room could use some maintenance. Perhaps other rooms are better. And I couldn't see the sign from the road until I was past the driveway, the place is really poorly marked. I had to make the big double U-turn loop to come around again. Kind of a poor effort all around.

The room we were in had recently been renovated and was beautiful. But the walls were way too thin. The Internet was very slow. The price that I paid should’ve been for a hotel in a much better location, than this one. You definitely need a car. It’s 10 minutes away from groceries and restaurants.

Busy wknd of Wesleyan Commencement. Room on first floor. All you could hear was the people upstairs from 11p-6 A. If the person across the hall came and went, you could hear there door open shut. Drain in shower didn’t work Ran out of hot water for shower and luckily, they were able to fix quickly. Fridge in alcove was not level and unable to fully open the door. Staff was great and responsive. Booked though Expedia. Tried to cancel a night, hotel manager unresponsive per Expedia. Had to pay for the two nights at check-in. Email to GM with letter from Expedia about modification to stay has gone unanswered x 3 days as of now.

The hotel is fine, but what's really outstanding is the staff. The front desk manager, Vinny, was very helpful and accommodating. He even brought up a second suitcase bench for us on request. On our second day, my elderly mother was feeling unwell. I had to leave her there for a few hours and the front desk clerk on duty, Rosalyn, volunteered to check on her halfway through. She brought my mom snacks, ascertained that she was doing all right, and texted me an update. What a sweetheart! She is pre-med and is clearly going to be a terrific doctor one day. Thank you both, Vinny, and Roz!

We arrived around 2:30 PM for a 3 PM check-in and were told our room wouldn’t be ready for at least another hour due to delays. By 4:30, we checked back at the desk and a new receptionist had no idea we were waiting for a call. It was clear the communication between staff was lacking. Our bathroom door kept locking from the inside, which was a concern with young kids. We informed the staff, but no one was sent to fix it. Thankfully, we had family staying next door with a conjoined bathroom we could access, but we had to keep using our keycard to pop the lock. The area surrounding the hotel didn’t feel the safest and food options nearby were mostly fast food. The worst part was breakfast the next morning. We arrived around 8:30 AM (breakfast ran until 9:30 or 10) and everything was gone, no milk, no coffee, nothing restocked. It was chaotic and poorly managed. Overall, this hotel didn’t live up to expectations, and we wouldn’t stay here again unless improvements are made to staffing, communication, and amenities.

I had two rooms given to me when I arrived, and both were not clean or ready. The woman at the front desk took up new sheets and towels, and got the room ready for us while we waited in the lobby. She was very nice and helpful. About 2 AM someone tried to get in the door with a key and said the room has been rented to them as well. The hotels in disrepair in many areas is it good updating. If it wasn’t for the front desk this would’ve been a disaster. Many people in the lobby. We’re having issues with being overbooked or their rooms not being ready. Did your lack of housekeeping staff

Was able to get a 3rd floor newly renovated King room which was amazing. Hotel currently working on 2nd floor renos, but although contstruction site, it is only obvious from the parking lot. Area a bit of dull, however not far to drive to anything you need. Hotel staff were great and breakfast was best of what to expect for continental.

Breakfast server refused to refill the pancake mix for the pancake maker 20 min before breakfast ended. The pool was dirty and had hair, bandaids, and chunks of feces floating in it. The evening front desk person named Vincent was very nice but almost too helpful in a creepy way. The morning staff was rude and disappointing regarding the breakfast situation. Would not recommend staying here especially if you have children-mine were very disappointed as we came to stay for my son’s 13th birthday. He was mostly upset that they couldn’t use the pool. The pancake situation had me l very frustrated. The server was unbelievably rude despite the fact that I had asked her about 15-20 min prior to then what time breakfast ended.
