Limited parking out front, but plenty out back

Dark in the hallways. Hole in ceiling in the hallway. Loud a/c. Scary elevator that was making weird noises. There was a party in the conference area that was playing loud music past midnight and we can could hear it from the 3rd floor!

One elevator broke

If you have standards at all, I do not recommend staying here! Did not appear to be in the safest area. Check in went well and the place smelled ok when you first walked in. They must of had something freshening the air in the lobby, because that's where it stayed. This was supposed to be a non-smoking establishment, but once you got past the lobby you were bombarded with stale cigarettes and marijuana. There were some pretty major cracks in the tile in the elevator. Literally shifted the floor under our feet making a loud clanking noise. The room was less than expected. Even with the dim lighting you could see it was gross. The bottom of the bath tub was absolutely disgusting. I thought it was a dirty bath mat, but no...it was staining from mold and mildew that had built up over time underneath a bath mat that hadn't been moved in some time. There were holes in the wall by the light sconces, and popcorn ceiling was peeling just outside the bathroom and along the outer wall of the room near the bed and window. The dresser that housed the fridge had the door ripped off and it just looked trashy. Don't even get me started on the complimentary breakfast. They were stingy with the breakfast. Putting limited supplies out then standing there watching as everyone went for the cereal since that was what was left. Limiting the waffle mix to a few half full cups at a time then ignoring the station altogether while there was a line waiting. We will never stay at another Comfort Inn!

Room is good-sized, as was the refrigerator. Location very convenient to highway, CVS, Dunkin, etc. Breakfast was as expected with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, muffins, toast, waffles, but no bagels. Queen bed was not very comfortable and uneven. wireless Internet was fine. Bathroom has good water pressure and a great light over the shower/tub but the two other sconce lights in the bathroom were worthless for anyone who would like to shave or do their makeup - absolutely unacceptable. STRIKE ONE. Also unacceptable was the lack of a CURTAIN - there was NO CURTAIN on the window except for a sheer, so the bright lights used to light the parking lot streamed right into the room all night long. and the 4:45am sunrise did as well. STRIKE TWO. Hotel also apparently has a problem with locals using their back parking lot to burn rubber and practice drifting, which would be STRIKE THREE against me ever staying there again or recommending it.

Some floor tiles needs to be replaced in the elevator... it's a trip hazard. Other than that it was a great stay. Will recommend.

Upon first glance, hotel looked very clean. Staff were very friendly. Once headed up to room, elevators were in poor condition (actually was stuck in one briefly). Mold was visible on ceiling in hallways, light fixtures were missing, ice machines were broken and strong deodorizer odor throughout hotel. Room was also very loud due to traffic outside and the air conditioner unit.

Hotel itself was great. Downfall was noisy, busy road. Trashy back parking. Smell of pot in elevator most times entered. Great breakfast, friendly staff All in all will definitely stay again

We had to park in the back of the property the first night and it was run down. There was litter and old equipment next to the building. Also in the lobby, there was a continual squeal from the entrance. I asked about it when I checked in and the clerk said he was used to it and didn't notice it. However, as a guest I could barely think to hold a discussion because it was so annoying. The next day, I overheard another guest ask a different clerk about it and they gave a similar response that they didn't notice it.

The room was okay as far as appearance. The shower had rusted broken fixtures, moldy shower curtain, and towels looked dirty as well. The bed was fine and the rest of the room was okay but the bathroom was horrible. There was a large gap under the door which made it easy to hear everything happening in the hallway.

This hotel is outdated and in serious need of a major renovation. The smell was overwhelmingly bad and the bathroom had mold.

Comfort Inn & Suites in Meriden CT. Our room was dirty. Hair on comforter on both beds. Dirt on the bathroom floor. Furniture had food residue all over tv hutch and headboard of beds. Nasty! I slept with my hoodie with my hood over my head.

Cleaning is poorly done through out the facility. Curtains and flooring had cigarette burns in the room.Our room was not cleaned once during our 10 night stay. Hallways have garbage and linens all over the place, even during the nights. Food quality in the breakfast area was awful.

This hotel is dated. My bathroom had mildew everywhere. You can tell it’s not thoroughly cleaned. Even the vent in the a/c had mildew all in it. Beds were hard so I didn’t sleep well. The juice fountain at breakfast was covered with gnats. The hotels in near several restaurants and gas stations so that’s a plus. I don’t think I’ll stay here again.

Not properly cleaned. The toilet was dirty and the shower had many long hairs. The staff was nice and overall the property was ok for a one night stay.

I'd like to be kind but the hair from someone else in the pilly polyester sheets and in the bathroom is just too gross. We didn't sleep well

Not so clean... the carpet ans the sheets wasn't clean but the rest was ok.

Room wasn't very clean, there was mold in the shower and the bathroom floors had visible residue on them. Very outdated rooms.

The location is great. Things need updating in the rooms.

Great customer service. Really only 1 complaint the water in room 501 never got hot.

Was average and the hotel had a strong smell in the rooms and pathway …we didn’t get hot water in the morning and it came only after 20 mins of the water running

The hotel was clean, the room also. But old stuff inside. No usb to charge phone, only on a clock that did not work. It was very cold in the room when we got here, 63 degre. The heater works well, but it sounds like an airplane engine. It is so loud that "forget about it" if you want to sleep. So the room got cold and the blankets are so thin that you get cold. The breakfast was as expected and the staff, very polite.

It was clean. I overlooked the parking lot, not a mountain view. The heating system was very loud and went on and off all night. Was gone before breakfast, but for the cost it was a decent stay. The mattress needed to be changed or flipped over it was higher in the middle than on the side.

Was good for overnight stay too noisy. The rooms have thin walls.

I loved how convenient the location was from an event I attended. What I didn’t like was how old, used, dirty the room was. The bathroom knobs were all loose and detached from the wall. The floor rug felt humid and disgusting. The lounge chair was dingy, dirty and old. And the beds were a little sunk in and very uncomfortable.

The shower never got hot or cold only lukewarm.

Welcoming staff, clean, accommodations were great

We arrived in the evening and had to wait a good 15-20 minutes to get checked in because there was no one at the front desk. We got our room and we had a king suite. We had to use the sofa bed for the kids and pulled it out. The mattress was horribly stained. I tried to call the front desk for sheets and pillows but our phone did not work. We went down to get some. The bathroom floor was not very clean. I feel like it should have been more clean for the money we paid. I have never left a review before. We didn’t mind the busy street, close to a lot. But cleanliness should be top priority

TERRIBLE experience. Stayed for a wedding, checked in 11/3 and out 11/6. On 11/7 (day after checkout) my CC was charged $79.20, and then on 11/8 it was charged $30.55 twice-- so a total of $140.30 in charges. We aren't local to CT so I had to call them instead of going in person to ask what the charges were about. The first time I called I was met with "I haven't worked the front desk in awhile so I'll have the guy who was working the desk when you were here call you back"-- I waited 3 days and didn't get a phonecall. I called again, and was told the same. 3rd time I called, I was told they'll refund me the $79.20 but that's it-- they insisted we extended our stay. I said I have my boarding passes to prove I was not in CT, nor did I extend my stay, and only then did they agree to refund me the full amount. They told me it would post in 24-36 hours. Well, 3 more business days went by and I still had no refund, so I called again. Was told they refunded it to a CC ending in "xyz"-- that I don't own. Then he backtracked and read my actual CC number to me and told me that's the one they refunded it to. I said listen dude, this is now the FOURTH time I've called you guys, and I still have no refund. Nothing was refunded. I was met with "call your bank then". I ended up having to call Chase bank to dispute the charges, which is ongoing as of now. 0/10 recommend giving them your business. And while I'm at it, we had no hot water our entire stay.

A wonderful stay! Georgette, the lady who helped with breakfast, was so attentive and accommodating. Rooms were very clean and well cared for. Property was well monitored and staff was amazingly efficient and friendly. Thank you!

Georgette, who was responsible for the breakfast area, was amazing. Kind, helpful, diligent. She’s a Georgette peach!

Customer service was horrible at check in. The front desk person seemed annoyed that we asked questions. Their breakfast is a first come first serve won't make more if out, so if you don't get there early enough there may be no food left for you even with an hour left in the announced time frame. The parking here is sketchy. There were used condoms in the parking lot. And their laundry room is coin operated but they provide no way to break bills. We were glad to get out of there.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was average, but clean. We stayed one night on our trip to Massachusetts.

I had an issue with my reservation on Tuesday evening 8/19 and it seemed like I was going to need to find other accommodations but the staff working there that night (Alex and Brian?) were exceptionally helpful and gracious and made it possible for me to book another room the same night. I cannot understate how kind and understanding they were and their how professional they were.

The only negatives were that the fixtures, including a lamp and the bathtub, were worn. Other than that, the manager Jose was really kind and the bed was super comfy. The TV was a treat, with an uber-large screen and multiple channels. The housekeeping was good and the amenities what I have come to expect from Comfort Inn. The breakfast is always a perk at Comfort Inn. I recommend they swap out that dirty or worn lamp by the bed. I wasn't sure if it was grit and grime or just wear and tear.

Location had ease of access to highway.

Very convenient parking and access to interstate 91 and many restaurants and gas stations within walking distance but Meriden, Connecticut is still not a high class place. This hotel, however, is fine for the price.

The hotel is right off the highway convenient to stores in the area, within walking distance Dunkin Donuts, Wendy’s, CVS a lot of options close by, off street parking at hotel and they serve breakfast also. I was greeted promptly upon arrival staff was friendly and very helpful

Fine place to stay. Functional. Neat lots of stores and fast food - so convenient for our quick stop en route from MA to NY.

A nice affordable place to stay for a night or two. Close to the highway, food, and gas.

Centrally located

It was an easy check in. The room was clean but it was a oder I didn’t like. And my room faced the main road I didn’t like that it was very noisy.

Hot breakfast with eggs and a waffle maker was a huge perk! The room was comfortable.

The property was okay. The common area floors and elevators needed better cleaning. The room heating had two different controls and not sure if either worked well. The front entry needed more ice melt laid down during snow. The parking area needed trash picked up. The front desk provided us lots of extra towels on the holiday which was good. The soap and lotion in the rooms caused us to have a skin breakout reaction, I would avoid using them. The person in charge of the breakfast was super helpful and even made waffles for people. The hotel was within walking distance of gas station, three pharmacies, and two fast food places. The signage on the parking lot exits was at the wrong height because it blocked all view of traffic and made it hard to pull out of the parking lots. Bargain for a budget.

Very clean breakfast very good

There was NO breakfast. Supposedly the eggs had not arrived.

This hotel looked like it used to be nice. There was trash piled up outside of every trash can, bags and bags of overflow garbage in the hallways. The "work out room" had an okay treadmill, an okay elliptical, and a quite broken weight machine. The door was propped open because the lock didn't work. The fan in the bathroom was hanging out of the ceiling and so coated in dust I can't believe it was actually helping. The shower water was only warm, it would not get hot. The pressure was low. Breakfast goes from 6:30 to 9:30, by the time we went at 7:15, they were out of milk and waffle mix. The breakfast area was a mess, we asked for napkins only to be told that there "aren't any." I had to go to the front desk to find any staff to talk to about breakfast being out of all the essentials, 15 mins later a staff member came by, refilled the waffle maker and then made the first waffle for himself... This hotel cost at least $50 more than it should have for the state that everything is in and staffing level.
