The property was on the complete construction. The lobby was being reconstructed. Not only will we not informed about the construction but when I called the hotel to confirm the reservation and make sure that my mother-in-law had an adjacent room, we still were not told about any construction. We were not able to have breakfast as the buffet was feet away from the demolition. Dust flying everywhere. When we woke up the next morning and went downstairs, the front desk was gone and the reception area was in a closet! I do not go to a hotel to have an environment where I don't feel comfortable. We were there visiting in that same hotel with family f*** unfortunately we had to go elsewhere since there was nowhere to sit and have drinks comfortably! The manager was very unprofessional. Had a nasty attitude!!

I stayed for 2 nights. The staff was very friendly & I did like that the hotel allows pets. I needed an extra set of sheets and they were brought up to my room quickly. They charge $10 per person extra for breakfast which I thought should’ve been included considering I paid $600 already. The pool isn’t that big & isn’t heated and the hot tub wasn’t working. On Sunday the fire alarm went off so everyone had to wait outside until the fire department came & they brought some bottles of water because it was really hot out. It was a false alarm & everyone was allowed to go back to their rooms, but then it went off a second time and the fire department had to come back again. They did let me go back up to the room for an extra hour to finish getting ready

Staff’s great!!! Especially the bar tender! Beautiful and very caring of your experience during her shift. She has a warm spirit and great conversationalist. Can’t remember her name but she’s of Latin descent with short hair and married to a retired military dude. We appreciate your service! Enjoy your family and retirement!

This property is under MAJOR renovations. The whole lobby, dining area and reception desk all covered in plastic, floors ripped up, noisy construction, water on floor all the way to the elevator. I would never have stayed here if I knew, there are many other hotel options down the street. Not your fault, but The Hilton Garden should have informed you. Not worth $160 per night, should give big discount.

The bathroom wasn’t clean. The guests next to and above us were extremely loud for the entire night. Staff said they could do nothing. Odd pillows that seemed fluffy but when weight was applied reduced to paper thin. Received comp breakfast for all the issues. Asked for a boiled egg. Staff said they had run out and only had 4 left which were saved for them.

The room had some minor inconveniences. There were no sheers on the window. There was only a Roman shade which I had to keep closed because the room overlooked active construction. The thermostat didn’t allow you to control the AC independently from the heat. So if the room got too warm it would turn on the AC and blow out cold air instead of just turning off the heat. Lastly there were no towel bars in the bathroom.

There was a lacrosse team staying there with you girls. They ran through the halls screaming. Payed on the elevators to the point you had trouble accessing them, and were extremely mouthy and disrespectful when asked to calm down and where their parents were. I called the front desk asking them to come up and say something yet no one ever came. It went until late that night and they resumed that behavior early the next morning. I got very little sleep and was very upset I used $250 to stay there. While I understand the common areas, they should not have been allowed to do that in the room hallways. Your staff had a responsibility to allow them to enjoy their stay, but equally your staff had a responsibility to the rest of us staying there. In the future I will be staying at the Hampton Inn down the street as I normally do, I just thought I would try the Hilton Garden. Huge mistake.

I had a slight issue when I checked in, but the hotel Manager has since written me a letter explaining the details of what happened. Also, The gentleman that was on duty, when I checked in moved me to another room and I was happy with that. When I come to Dover Delaware, that’s usually my go to hotel of choice and I’ve had no problems throughout the years.
