What guests think

Across many reviews, Comfort Inn & Suites Dover near Speedway is praised for friendly, accommodating staff, a convenient location near shopping, the casino and Speedway, and generally clean, comfortable rooms that suit short stays and repeat visits.

However, several guests note aging decor and worn furnishings, with occasional cleanliness lapses such as mold, dust, and lingering odors. Reports about facilities vary: the indoor pool and hot tub are popular, but some encountered excessive chlorine, cloudy or dirty water, or closures; the fitness room feels dated. Breakfast earns frequent praise for variety and value, though a number of reviews mention limited hot choices, bland items, late start times, or food not kept hot. Expect friendly service and convenience, with solid basics, but dated finishes and occasional maintenance or noise issues.

I book rooms for our travels based on the customer ratings and reviews and let me say I was happy to stay at this Comfort Inn. The Lady who checked us in greeted us warmly and answered all of our questions. We spent time in the pool/hot tub room after our drive and it was very relaxing. The room was clean and orderly and although breakfast starts at 7 am , it was very tasty. Booked the same hotel on our way out and then back again as a halfway point of our travels.

The sweet rooms were very large and the bed was comfortable. The couches and armchair were extremely stained and needed to be replaced. The bathroom had quite a few mildewed spots and peeling areas in the corners. The pool area had mildew in the grout that some of it had come off and gotten into the pool which was also very cloudy. The staff was very helpful and very friendly and the full breakfast was great. The breakfast options were awesome. There was multiple hot options and they even changed their offerings for both days.

The room has unknown splatter marks and stains throughout the bathroom and on the walls. There was a huge water mark stain that had mold growing over the entire king bed. For the amount I paid for the weekend (upwards of $700 for 2 nights), I didn't anticipate it to be this gross.

The staff there were very friendly and attentive. The only issue that I had staying there was that the place wasn't too clean. I understand that they don't clean everyday but every shelf and crevice was very dusty, moldy, and gunk in the corners of the bathroom and shelves.

It was a crazy busy weekend. We had to park far away but that wasn’t an issue with how busy they were. The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Christine that worked the breakfast, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything stocked up even though we came by in the last hour of service. Everyone always greeted us every time we walked by them. Room was nice and clean. Highly recommend

Receptionist was horrific. Thought I was on a hidden camera show. No way this woman could be the face of the franchise. No way. Was the most miserable person two days in a row. Worked afternoon shift and was the most unhelpful with everything and aggravated that you even spoke to her. And there didn’t seem to be any other person working that could assist you. Terrible. Just terrible. Won’t come back due to that experience. That being said, rooms were very clean, bathroom spotless, didn’t use pool or attend breakfast because we had to be out early each day

After driving 6-1/2 hours to the hotel upon arrival the hotel was located next to a junk yard. People were loitering in the parking lot. Finally made it upstairs to my room and it had not been cleaned from the previous guests, beds unmade, trash in the trash can, used towels in the floor. Went to the front desk and requested a new room. We were supposed to stay 4 nights. We only stayed 1. Thank goodness they only charged me for one night. Made reservations for the remainder of my trip at Marriott instead.
