Renaissance Boston Seaport District

Everything was great, except the pool which was out of commission and nobody told us which was a shame as I had specifically chosen the hotel because we could swim. Also we went to use the sauna and locker room around 6pm one evening and there were no lights on and we couldn't find a way to illuminate the space - it was all rather spooky - not what we expected at all. But the room was great and the staff excellent.

Clean, nice gym, comfy bed, close to nice restaurants and walkable distance to attractions. Valet parking pricy but is expected in a city.

Beautiful area, I’d recommend Seaport to anyone. A beautiful area with the water and shops and a pedestrian bridge in the area (short one-two mile walk) to Faneuil Hall and Boston Park/Cheers. Hotel bed comfortable but the pool was small for kids….hot tub not working. But overall, nice place!

We booked this hotel for the pool and got to the pool and it was under construction. Super disappointing. The bathroom was also pretty dirty in our room

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Renaissance for two nights while in town to see a Celtics game. The hotel was beautiful (even during renovations) clean, and walkable within Seaport. The staff at the hotel bar was wonderful as well. The pool was closed due to renovations, but other than that we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

Property was nice - hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay. The hot tub was closed, unfortunately. The pool is a long narrow lap pool, and there were lots of kids, but there was plenty of seating in the pool area. We were also offered complimentary chowder and soft drinks at a local restaurant as well as commentary passes to the institute of contemporary art, which were both nice bonuses. Food in the hotel restaurant was tasty and staff was helpful and friendly.

Modern hotel, friendly helpful staff in a convenient and attractive new part of Boston. Our only criticism was that when paying £600 a night you’d expect at least complimentary water in the rooms. Unfortunately on our stay there wasn’t enough water in the swimming pool to swim and the sauna was out of commission which was also disappointing.

Would have been nice if there was self parking for the hotel. Valet only NYC prices and Limited street parking

It was a great hotel only one issue the swimming pool was only half full because it leaks.

Stayed 5 nights. It was OK. Very expensive but most are in this region. The staff in bar and restaurant are super nice and great service. I think overall it’s a nice hotel great location and does have a good gym pool and jacuzzi (pool is designed for lane swimming and possibly only 2 people at a time but it’s quiet most of the time). You just don’t get a lot for your money and reception is ok. It’s not super friendly but it’s not rude either. So it’s ok.

When we went to our room the bathroom wasn't clean after calling the front desk we went to a different room . Was very stressful , because we only had a half hour to get ready for the event that was at the hotel that night. We needed to be ready by 5:00 and dint get settled into the new room until 4:30. Not sure if I would trust going back to the hotel again.

Great location. Very Clean. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Check in staff was very friendly and helpful, even let us check in a few hours early.

Let me first share what I enjoyed about the property- great location, Capiz restaurant food was really good (surpassed my expectations and you can use a $30 hotel credit towards the bill), the wait staff were great and attentive, room was a good size w a side view of the water. However, the woman who checked us in at the front desk was quite rude and, after travelling 12 hours to get there, I didn’t appreciate someone being snippy and acting irritated she had to check us in and answer a few questions I had about the room and the fireworks. It was really offputting, and she didn’t provide any details of the hotel nor give us any water (the water in the room is $5 for a small bottle). Luckily the gentleman next to her chimed in and was more helpful and the morning person was really professional. The hotel also has some construction going on which I wasn’t aware of when I booked the room. So it was kind of underwhelming in the lobby and restaurant and entry way. The pool is very small and the water level was low (there was a sign on the door noting this). The room also had some shabby elements - the floor lamp was almost falling over and a part of the bathroom ceiling was starting to peel off. It was an ok visit but I’m not sure for the price I’d stay at that Marriott again. It’s too bad as the location is really good and elements of the hotel are good.

The rooms are very spacious. There was dirty laundry outside my room when I checked. The housekeeping staff was talking loud and on their phones and tried cleaning my room at 7:15AM .

My husband and I decided to visit the Seaport for its December festivities. Upon our arrival to the Renaissance we were dismayed about the recent renovations to the hotel. Upon arriving a concierge tried to have us switch from a King to a double. We booked a double due to our minor child. We were also notified that the jacuzzi was not operational and the pool level was decreased due to a leak. We also were told the ATM was not working. Any monetary transactions had to be done outside of the hotel. As we entered our room, we noticed the toilet seat had urine stains that was cleaned promptly. There was still visible tape on a wall from another guests stay. Also, to be more eco-friendly they no longer give hand soap for the bathroom sink or in its vicinity, it has to be retrieved from the shower. Also, the Capiz Lounge’s hours were wrong for a Saturday breakfast. The staff and their promptness and politeness really made up for this trip. We are hoping these are just issues attributed to the renovation. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

The cleanliness, is sub-par bc they never cleaned my room. I was interrupted to leave earlier than I wanted bc the housekeeper said she’d be back in an hour. I rushed & left to come back 2 hrs later & room not cleaned. So, I thought she’s out to lunch. Then another 7hrs later when I returned at 8pm the room still was not cleaned. Trash & bed still not made up & refreshed. Plus, there was a nasty stain in the ottoman. Which I’ll upload on Yelp! Ottoman, show be replaced if stain can’t be removed. Idk, if it’s semen or what? So, this is my reasoning.

The bed was so comfortable. Lots of space especially for working. The sheets were fresh and clean and it was lovely.

Great location in the seaport for our concert plans. Room was large and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. We also used the pool, workout room and sauna.

Arrived late around 10PM. Had to change rooms due to TV not working and maintenance couldn’t fix it. So they changed our room. Once we change rooms the new room AC would not turn off. Notified front desk and we left for the day to go to a family function. When we returned maintenance turned on heat and it was very hot. Turned the thermostat down didn’t sign as well. Next morning we had them turn off all air and heating in room. Last day was not as bad to sleep cuz we were extremely tired and had to depart early to catch flight. Wasn’t pleased with room. It was beautiful but rough due to too room temperature.

There was absolutely no internet reception in guest rooms during the entire stay. I had to use the "public" wifi for work in the lobby. For a four star hotel, that was just not acceptable.

Nice hotel, super convenient, we took Silver line from the airport and it was less than 5 minutes’ walk from the Silver Way stop. Check in is super quick, spacious room, they have renovated the hotel, it is much newer than last year when we visited. Location is awesome, you can walk to the waterfront in less than five minutes. A lot of great restaurants within walking distance.

Outside, we were in the line of flight for the airport and of course the planes were noisy. In our room, never heard a plane., wonderful. For the price, amenities were minimal. Lighting in our room was terrible. There was a $35 destination fee per day, with $20 per day food credit. I do not see on our statement where we received the $20 credit.

I booked well in advance and then received a room with a corner building view just looking at the corner of the building next door. It was but worth the cost at all. Bathroom is dated.

Walls are very thin. Could hear doors opening and closing all night, sounded like the people next door were in our room. Staff was great!

Renaissance is synonymous with high quality, comfort and excellent customer service. Renaissance Seaport (Boston) did not disappoint. It was clean, comfortable, the front desk was very accommodating. I also love the convenience of Starbucks (the resort fee allowance of 2 each day, and clam chowder) Bravo!!!

Stayed for 5 days, no hot water throughout the entire stay. Cold showers daily. Each day promised by staff that the hot water boiler would be fixed later that day and that we would be refunded for the days without hot water, given free breakfast etc. at checkout I was charged full price for the entire stay except for a free packet of Doritos. The hotel bar is brutally cold as well, air conditioning is far too potent. This was not a fun time at all. I understand things can break but if we had been told they couldn’t fix it we would have checked out and gone to a different hotel

From the moment I went to check in, I did not feel welcomed at this hotel. The person who checked me in kept telling me there was something on my account and he needed management. I asked what the issue was but he would not tell me. He than got his manager and they discussed whether to check me on or not right in front of me. I asked again what the issue was and he still refused to tell me. After that he rushed through the hotel rules so fast I still don’t understand them. At no point did I feel like they wanted me at this property.

The sub-par experience started at check-in. The clerk was surly, distracted and generic. She made a point of saying it was a waterfront view room, which it wasn’t. Didn’t asked about my Marriott awards number and didn’t even offer a bottle of water. Later, I returned to the front desk to ask a few questions and other front desk staff members seemed bothered by my approach to them and gave mono-syllabic responses. Honestly, it was almost funny. The bar staff was also inattentive and sloppy. I sat at the bar and it was at least 5 minutes before anyone even looked I attribute this to management. In hospitality, the way the staff is treated is the way they treat the guests. The property was okay, but I will never return. And I frequently travel to Boston. Never.

Service and the staff were friendly and efficient. Easy check/in & check/out.

Lighting in bathroom was poor. Ariel at front desk was extremely rude and unhelpful. She told us our room was not ready. She did not offer bag check. Another person the found us a room.

Nice hotel, great spot in Seaport.

Conveniently located less than ten minutes walking from two silver line stations, the South Boston convention center, dozens of restaurants and stores, and the harbor. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff are very nice and willing to assist with any reasonable request. Individual rooms did not have a microwave, but did have mini fridge and safe. Hotel convenience store has a microwave for general use.

Location location! This hotel is perfectly situated in the new section of the Seaport. The area is lovely, new and clean. Hotel is nice-quiet and well-staffed. Beds comfy, views lovely. Would return for sure.

We all know room service food is usually kind of 'meh." Not so here. Everything was delicious and we were so exhausted there was no chance we were going out. Note that if you're usually a bargain shopper and you decide to splurge, this is DEFINITELY the sort of place where you need to carry cash for tips.

The restaurant in the hotel closes during the lunch period, (11:00- 4:30pm) only cocktails available. The room services was quick. But the choices were very limited. No breakfast options on the al la carte for room service.

Staff was great. However, I had the buffet breakfast and was not impressed. For nearly a $30 breakfast, the selection was very generic. Danishes and breads were not bakery fresh:(
