The Hotel was clean and the room was well maintained. We were not located in the main building but were right across the walkway. We tried to use the elevator as we arrived and it would not work and we had to use the stairs. It seemed to be repaired later but was very slow and obviously not working properly.

Hotel is under renovation, but you really wouldn't know as the workers keep everything clean. Everything was great, especially the breakfast. Service was excellent. Will keep this place on my travel list.

While groups are using the facility, it may be a good idea to avoid the lower even numbered rooms (e.g., 302, 206) that overlook the patio. The front desk had to be called to deal with the noisy party folks out there at 12:30am. Rather than having to be asked, the front desk should be pro-active about a curfew on the patio so that folks on that side can get some sleep.

Expedia advertised a pool. Property did not have a pool. Whereas there was a restaurant on site, it was closed. Free breakfast was very nice and upscale. Room was very nice.

Next to the train tracks and limited grounds - not what you see on the website. Basic breakfast. No warning that the lobby and hallways were under construction.

Staff super friendly and efficient (especially Tina); hotel clean and accommodations as promised; location perfect. Quiet. One negative-must park behind building and then walk to front door, perhaps in the rain and snow. Back door desperately needed.

The elevator to our floor was out of order.

Room was clean and like a standard hotel room. The gym was small and the treadmill was the only electronic machine that was plugged in a working. You can here people come and go through their doors.

Fire pit, but yet staff didn’t have time to turn it on

Front desk didn’t bother to tell us that the elevator was out of order! We had to carry suitcases up two flights of stairs! Stairwell was dirty, rusted and in need of paint. Light out in bathroom. Door safety bolt broken off. Curtains do not close at all letting too much light in. This property is in serious need of upgrades and not worth the price!

It was really loud, could hear the person snoring next to us. The room was dirty. Really needed an update badly.

Bed blanket was torn on both sides. Should have been noticed by housekeeper when the bed was being made.

Very clean hotel. Staff was generally pleasant. Rooms were quiet - no hallway noise. Bed was very comfortable. Nothing really nearby though. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Fair price. Room was a bit run down. Dirty wash cloth left in shower from previous guests.

This was the perfection location to Longwood Gardens, and to the restaurant we went to. Unfortunately, there were crumbs under the blanket, so it may me feel, the sheets were not changed. Ick!!!!

The property was well kept, and the room was clean. The breakfast buffet was stayed well stocked and had a good variety of food

they did not clean the room/replace the towels after we had requested it at check in. There were ants in the bathroom.

Decent hotel. Walls/door are thin and you can hear people talk, and the AC didn’t work. It did have a very nice shower with high pressure. Would have been nice to having working AC in the hot summer as well as insulation for how much you’re spending.

Have stayed several times and enjoyed our time. Were placed across the way where walls were paper thin. Could hear everything on next room over.

The property has seen better days. Our room had a musty smell, paper was peeling off of the walls. It needs some TLC

The step up into the room is dangerous. The sign inside should be on the door, not the wall. My wife fell leaving the room and bruised her ankle. She is ok now

Pretty nice hotel in a safe area. The room is a little outdated, refrigerator was too loud, and the walls thin, we could hear our neighbors. But for the price, it was good. Breakfast was great.

It's was okay. The lobby was nice. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall in room 204 near the window, with rotten wood and some mold, both times I stayed in the room. The bathroom was dated. The staff we're fantastic though, and made up for some of the lacking details in the room. I probably wouldn't stay there again, if I had other options.

We stayed here for two nights and found the room very comfortable and quiet. Great location, very nice property.

Close to attractions. Easy to get around. The walls are VERY thin...we could hear a cell phone ringing in the room next to us.

One issue that I think people need to be aware of is the rooms that are with the annex on the lower level have a step up into the room. This is a trip hazard for those of us who are not always aware coming out of the room or going up into it.

As a former Senior F/A of 19 years and a Hotel Reviewer for Travel Impressions. I was hesitant to rate this hotel with a 5 star only for the disappointment that the restaurant was closed during my stay for cleaning and maintenance. Also, when I arrived the lady at the front desk appeared to be taken back (attitude) that I request clean towels daily during my stay. At the end of my stay, I could not help to rate this hotel a 5 star for several above and beyond the care of the average hotel personel. Those few disappointments seemed insignificant in comparison to the EXCELLENT SERVICE, KINDLY MANNERED, MORE ACCOMODATING STAFF AND ATTENTIVE STAFF I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING. This type of professionalism deserves the upmost recognition. The room was immaculate with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and the young lady who was in charge was sweet, polite, and attentive to all the needs of each guest. After my breakfast, I asked the chambermaid in the room next to mine if she would please change my linen. She immediately brought fresh linen and removed the used linen. Also, she disinfected the bathroom and asked if I needed anything else. I had some difficulty with the Keurig coffee machine. Immediately, she took care of the problem Above and beyond caring, and with such sincerity is your front desk staff member, Tina C. Due to my physical disabilities, she made my stay beyond a memorable experience of kindness.

When I was checking in less than hours early, the front desk staff said that I had to pay ten dollars. I was shocked. I

I needed a handicapper room. It was excellent with things I had not even thought about--2 lite switches one high and one low for the same lights. Had great ease moving around the room and lots of grab bars in the bathroom. Young woman at check-in was professional, helpful, gracious and helpful.

Arrived at 2:15 and understood that our room may not be ready. What was surprising was that checking in less than two hours before advertised checking time would incur a fee. Have never experienced that before in over 40 years of travel. Our room was a bit small and damp. The shower drain was very slow (standing in ankle deep water during a shower is not pleasant). Breakfast was subpar with gritty eggs. The staff at breakfast worked hard but had a very hard time keeping up with a moderate sized crowd. While the price wasn’t too high, I think I’d rather pay a bit more and be comfortable. Probably won’t be back.

Noise complaints not addressed by management. Over priced suite did not come equipped with typical essentials.

This property is NOT worth the money. The front-desk staff was rude during check-in, and did not disclose until after I gave a credit card for payment that the elevator in the building they put us in was not working and we were on the second floor. The breakfast was worse than airplane food, and there were other guests being loud (both arguing and partying) at 2 AM. Would not recommend.

Decor, excellent linens. Bed was extremely comfortable. Overall, a lovely choice. Front desk called to ensure we had everything we needed.

This hotel is close to several key tourist attractions including Longwood Gardens and Winterthur. Each is within 10 minutes of the hotel and there are several other parks and outdoor recreation options nearby. There are also a number of restaurants available close by.

Our room was excellent as was the buffet breakfast . Sites are not within walking distance given a busy road without sidewalks but they are reasonably nearby. Would definitely stay again.

Wow! Real china, utensils, mugs, glasses at breakfast. So much nicer than the usual disposables at other places. And great food selection, too. Rooms and proprty very nice.

Attached restaurant was very good. The breakfast was also good. Convenient to visit Mt Cuba botanical gardens.

The breakfast at the Mendenhall was top-notch!! They also had great quality soaps and shampoos which, while it might be a little thing, should be recognized! The area around the Mendenhall is beautiful!!

Enjoyed an excellent stay at the Mendenhall Inn. Breakfast was more than satisfactory. King bed in the room appeared new with quality linens. Restaurant was top notch. Menu was comprehensive with enough options to please everyone. Food was delicious. Will stay there again on our next visit to Longwood Gardens.

Love location for a Longwood Garden visit. Lots of local choices to eat. Breakfast was very good for buffet. Attendent was super great.

The room furnishing were fine and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was terrible. The powdered scrambled eggs and the bread etc. was poor quality. The waffle maker was broken and the fruit was minimal. The restaurant was very good. I was there on a Thursday evening, and it was very quiet. The bar in the tavern closed so we did not get our Irish coffee.

Mediocre reception service with confusing directions. Rotting food in mini-fridge. Tavern bar closed on a Saturday night.
