Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Chicago South Lansing by IHG

Property is not the one pictured on Travelocity. Rooms and hallways extremely hot. You have to stay moving in room for air to work. Breakfast is only served to 9:30am which is not late enough for families with children. Can’t access the very small pool without assistance from the front desk and our room keys did not work after returning from activities when staying two nights. Beds were great but tub needs replaced. Also phone did not work in first room and no phone in room were we stayed two nights.

Great stay overall! Facilities and location is the best! Certainly staying again here when we’re back in the city again.

Stayed here for 1 night in July. Room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was good. Only complaint was that the pool was dirty - turned out the filter had been turned off for a couple days. Manager apologized profusely but we were really looking forward to a dip after being on the road for 8 hours. :( That said, we'd stay here again.

Uppn arrival the front desk staff was not aware of our need for.a crib/pack n play and stated that they usual charge for its use even though it was confirmed by the property that it would be avaliable for use with no talk of additional charges. She was a bit rude. Overall the stay was nice, baby enjoyed the heated pool even though there are no pool towels which would have been nice and the room was only equipped with 2 sets of towels so something to consider. Breakfast options were nice, warm and mostly kept stocked for the 3.5 hour window. Television got most channels as the ones missing seem to be due to possibly satellite issues. Be forewarned the ceilings are thin and you can hear all steps folks are taking. Location is off a busy major thoroughfare so sounds of traffic are present and you may wait to make a turn a bit. There are lots of food locations close and a walmart as well.

Property was within a half hour of Chicago and easy on easy off expressway. Exit with free parking…. Great night sleep, and even had breakfast.

This is our usual go to hotel when visiting this area and this is the first time we have been disappointed with the experience. We had plumbing issues in our room and there was no maintenance on staff and the hotel was booked. I also overheard the cleaning staff in the breakfast area having conversations and using language that should not have been within earshot of guests. The front desk staff was pleasant. We also could not use our key card for any of the back or side doors. All entry must be made and the front door which was another inconvenience.

The hotel was nice and clean

The staff was great and friendly. The only problem I had was that ants came out in the middle of the night and were all over empty soft drink cans and on the stand by the bed. And these were zombie ants; it took several attempts to kill them.

This property was nice and I think there was just a slip up one day but unfortunately we had to witness it— the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned— there was a washcloth left on the shower rod and the tub had a slight ring around it and there was soap scum and hair in it. The manager offered me 2000 points for the IHG membership program for the inconvenience. The breakfast was good.

well when we arrive the front desk receptionist was very kind in kind when we got in the room the bathroom was very dirt in the tub we told the housekeeper but we left in still was dirty so i was very disappointed bout that but i had a death in my family in i was more focus on my family but they didn't clean the room give no clean towel so when we made it back we had to ask for clean towels it was very disgusting to have to deal with the death of a family n come back to the room n be disappointed

First the people infront were the sweetest the issue is the hotel our first room was dirty still and when we went to shower the water was clogged it was disgusting it pilled up we told them infront they gave us a new room we went to new room same issue but now the ceeling in bathroom was also leaking day of my sisters wedding 3 day we asked for another room because they said they couldn’t fix the issue that day so they gave us another room because I needed to shower for my sis wedding asap but when we got to the room it was so disgusting dirty and bathroom sink was clogged with whoever’s spit and nasty stuff in the sink the water was just there floating we told the front desk that was enough we tried to stay there but clearly is not ok for them to have that place running like that it is not being kept up with there is a issue with the plumbing the cleaning and the manager because I told them I needed to either get a refund or transfered somewhere away from there and they said they couldn’t do that only if I spoke with manager but they said manager would show up maybe 9 or 10 and I told them I had my sisters wedding to go to they said they couldn’t do nothing worst experience on too of that they didn’t let me check out they said they couldn’t do that and I needed to leave so they told me they would do it that is so wrong they didn’t do nothing haven’t even called me back like they said they would

Our room was amazing! Customer service was on point! Breakfast was very good! Our beds were super comfy! We even had a black light and it passed with flying colors! I would definitely always be a Hilton customer!

This was a two night stay... Beds were very comfortable. Clean sheets and towels every day, so that was nice.

I didn’t like the fact that the shower head couldn’t be adjusted

The room I rented was a far cry from my previous stay. The bed was smaller and the pillows were uncomfortable.

The worker at check-in was very friendly and kind. Nice quiet location! The pillows were pretty awful and flat, but the rest of the room was pretty nice.

We only stayed one night, but the room was nice and clean; and the beds were comfortable.

The service was a little backed up so I did have to wait a while, but the front desk went out of the way to ensure I was able to check-in early which was great because I came in from out of state. The room was spacious and clean. The only issue we had with the room was a shortage on towels and I don't quite understand why that is even a thing, especially in the summertime! The breakfasts options were decent but the stock was low, no milk for cereal. The only fruit was red apples...

There was no check in. Got all the way to the hotel to find out there were no rooms available. This is the second time this has happened.

Everyone was super nice! The folks doing the housekeeping were top notch!! And the lady who did the breakfast took good care of me!!! My only issue was a fellow visitor who decided to smoke in a non-smoking facility and it got into my room. The lady at the front desk during the shift left me hanging and never responded about the fan she was suppose to find for me. However, the next day the people at the front desk were really nice and apologized for the lack of communication. Overall, I would stay here again!

When I checked in, the staff was friendly, supportive, and funny. They were having a little issue with their printer. Kinda reminded me of the Movie “ Office Space” when the printer was taken for a ride! Don’t want to spoil the scene if you’ve never seen the movie. It was a classic! LOL!!! Anyway, it was a Great Stay!

We had a medical emergency and asked for a refund- hotel has not refunded us

Everything was great except the last day at 8:30am items needed to be refilled on the breakfast bar — orange juice, potatoes, pancake batter, coffee lids, muffins.
