Great staff and perfect place for us to stay for parents weekend! thank you! There was construction going on around the property, so parking may be tough, but they warned us about that and nothing they could do. We used Uber and walked...so not an issue for us.

It's unique, for sure. Kind of smelled in the room though. Way too humid in the room initially - had to dry it out with the fan setting on the HVAC. Nice patio. Wouldn't want to be out there on a real hot or real cold day though... We hit it just right weather-wise for it to be a pleasant experience. m

Our stay is always spot on at the Modern. We will always stay here as long as they will have us! Our only, and very very small, issue was the shower wand did not work but the main shower head did. Otherwise? Perfection.

Room was great, loved the decor of the main room and bathroom. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Great location-close to shops and restaurants. We had a great dinner at the hotel restaurant. Loved that there were bikes available for us to borrow for free! We went on a beautiful bike ride along the river. However the walls are very thin, we could hear unpleasant sounds from the room next door.

Converted older style motel that has been turned into a design hotel. Hotel is great and staff were wonderful. However the rooms have zero sound insulation. You hear everything your neighbours do. Also it’s close to highway so majority of rooms suffer from very loud highway noise. Overall considering the price I wouldn’t recommend.

The Modern was just a 10 minute walk to most of the area downtown we were interested in going to. It was quiet, clean, and nice enough. My only real complaint is the bathroom. The door is frosted glass, and the toilet is right inside the door, so when you are sitting on the toilet, the other person in the room can see you!

We loved our stay here. I travel a lot for work and appreciate when a hotel has solid insulation between rooms. For once I did not hear every single thing my neighbors were saying and my husband and I slept like rocks. It's dog friendly so we definitely plan to bring our pup next time. I love the cute bar and my local friends said they have amazing food, though we only ate the relatively light breakfast they provide. I enjoyed staying at a smaller, locally owned, hotel. Close to everything in downtown so you can easily walk to great restaurants and bars. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay at The Modern. I had flight trouble and had to call and let them know I would be checking in late and it was truly a pleasure to be able to speak with someone who was physically in the hotel, rather than a giant customer service center. The breakfast was delicious and everyone with whom I interacted was pleasant and helpful. The room was fun and clean. I'd happily stay there again.

I’ve stayed here before and loved it. But this time. We entered the room and it was extremely warm, I had pre purchased a $40 Charcuterie board and found it very warm inside of the refrigerator that wasn’t even plugged into the wall. It was so warm the cheese had started to change color. Then this morning at 9am we were woken to the sound of housekeeping entering our room while we slept, 2 hours before we were even supposed to check out.

I was very impressed with the staff during my check in. I came into town with a large truck and trailer because I was moving and the gentlemen at the desk went out of his way to make sure I could park it safely in the area without gettijg a ticket. Room was clean and spacious.

Modern had a great vibe. Staff is insanely competent and friendly. Great bar. The place probably isn't for everyone but for a "transformed" travellodge motel it is pretty damn cool. I'd stay again and very easy access to the airport and access to the freeways around Boise. And a 5 minute walk from all the trendy restaurants.

Should’ve known there might be a noise issue when we were offered ear plugs while checking in. Through no fault of the hotel, the location is right in the middle of a Friday and Saturday night muscle car cruise route. We decided to leave because it was so noisy.

What a delightful hotel right in the heart of downtown Boise. The staff and service was first rate — friendly, professional, informed people. Had a delicious dinner at their restaurant (yum!) and the complimentary breakfast was terrific. Everything worked like a charm — good air conditioning, pristine room, etc. If I get back to Boise, I will stay at the Modern again. terrific!!

Really cute, updated motor lodge with excellent bar and food. The burrata and Bibb lettuce salad was excellent for dinner, as was the gourmet yogurt parfait for breakfast. Great location in a revitalized area of Boise, very close walk to the shops and restaurants.
