Chicago Marriott Oak Brook

Very limited amenities (no on site full service restaurant, Starbucks has limited hours). Old rooms. HVAC system didn’t work. Flat pillows.

Nice clean hotel but only one of three elevators were working. Checking out we had to walk 6 floors down because ever elevator that came by was full.

Checked in at 3pm. Saturday bar not open until 5pm, restaurants later. Cable kept going in and out. We were on 10 th floor but traffic was very loud. Went to meetings here that were fine

On the plus side, all but one of the 8 or more members of the staff with whom I interacted were courteous, helpful, well-informed and accommodating. The room was clean, as one would expect from a Marriott. The location was excellent, across the street from the Oakbrook Mall and near many restaurants, services and stores, including a Costco. On the negative side, on-going construction work made repeated loud, jarring interruptions to phone and in-person conversations. I had packed my swimsuit, but the swimming pool is permanently closed. The hotel does not divulge in advance that it does not provide free internet connectivity; rather, they charge a minimum of $14.95/night for even limited internet access unless the guest is a member of Marriott's Bonvoy Club. The so-called "business center" where one can, in theory, use the internet "for free"--and print off such items as boarding passes--consists of part of one raised counter on which sit two PCs and beneath them, a printer. Use of these either costs money or requires signing up with a third party supplier eager to grab a guest's credit card number and/or identifying information. This "business center" is in the middle of the main lobby, squatting just ten feet in front of the front desk (itself merely 3 or so stations beside which 1 or 2 people (if the guest is lucky) are standing. The main lobby is underwhelming, to put it kindly. The room itself had no working coffeemaker, no microwave, no fridge and so on. Sad.

We arrived - The "dining room" was closed. The phone and the menu in the showed that room service was available. We called the Room Service button that was on the phone. The Front Desk answered and they transferred us to "Room Service". No one answered. Tried again in the morning - twice. Same thing. Commented on check-out. I was told - Oh! Yeah! They never answer the phone. You need to use the "QR code" on back of menu. So, why wasn't this shared with us when we called the front desk ? 3 times. The hotel lost revenue for F&B sales on 4 meals. We ended up eating junk that we didn't want. Not good for a diabetic. Perhaps a note somewhere other that the menu that states the Room Service button doesn't work and that you should use the QR code on the back of the menu for room service? Or the front desk personal share with you that you need to use the QR code? Otherwise - The property was very nice. The banquet food was good!

Parking was excellent. The wall are extremely thin, I heard man next snoring and his conversation. Not a fan of conjoined rooms.

No swimming pool, no restaurant

I loved the parking, convenient to shopping and plenty of dining options. I did not like the bar drinks not being hand mixed but rather bottle drinks and not served in proper glasses. I also did not like room service foods served like on an airplane.

The area was great with mall across the street however I didn’t realize they didn’t have a pool. It seems it was more for business and special events. However it served it purpose for me and my twins.

Great hotel! Free parking! Great area! Mall is right across so makes it easy to get things when needed. Did have to ding it a little for the cleanliness. Our room was slightly dirty but there were conferences and events ongoing the day we stayed so i assumed they may have been rushed. However, overall great hotel would definitely recommend.

Checking into room that was not clean and even had mold on the ceiling and then got moved to a room that was “renovated” however the shower drains were above the floor so all the water just drains into the floor of the main room.

Clean room and great staff! Everything was spot on!!

Shower had hair stuck on the wall. Towels were a little rough. Overall good stay. Room gets dark and AC gets cold. TV has casting capability with popular streaming sites. Rest of facility was clean/maintained. Plenty of parking.

The room was updated and modern and clean.

We got bloody sheets I know the convention was going on I asked to change my room because it was at the end of the hallway. They had the stairs, which I felt like it was a safety issue for me, but they were didn’t change room room was musty mildew, and it was under construction.

Family in the area for a wedding. Booked 4 rooms and the front desk was able to get all of the rooms together when we checked in. The rooms were updated, very clean and comfortable.

Oakbrook shopping and food choices are wonderful. The hotel could use a face lift. The carpets are dated with multiple stains. Additionally, the plumbing backed up causing our floor to smell of sewage ( you know). The staff responded quickly to the concerns we put forth which made things much better overall.

There was an issues with the bathroom tile grout. It was very dirty and the water coming thru very brown but the hotel compensated me .i

The bed was extremely comfortable. Although the lobby was very nice and updated the rooms are in desperate need of an update.

No internet, limited cellular service capability. Didn’t check me into my room properly so I was interrupted twice and asked to check out including knocking early on the morning of my checkout

Room was fine, but could definitely see some wear and tear (fire alarm box hanging off, scuffs, etc.). We paid for a king room and got 2 queens and were told “that’s what happens when you book through a third party.” What’s the point in booking a type of room if you aren’t going to get it? Very annoying.

Nice room, beds were really comfy, but room was across from elevator so very loud guests. Bathroom space was tiny (my husband had to shower sideways it was so narrow).

The property was very clean. The entire staff, working in check-in, breakfast and room service was very kind and helpful.

Booked a stay at the Oak Brook Marriott through Hotels.com which is owned by Expedia. Very easy online to choose and reserve a room. Got to the hotel before the 4pm check in and was told would have to wait for room unless I didn’t want a king bed, chose to wait and had lunch at OAK BROOK MALL right cross the street. Desk receptionist might have been a robot, didn’t smile, monotone voice to match her expression. Came back and was greeted by another lady who when I gave my reservation number said “would you like to add breakfast for $20.00 . I mentioned that I had already paid for a breakfast, she was then able to fund that I had and I let her know her price was double the amount I was charged. She then informed me that I had ordered two breakfast meals even though I was the only traveler. When I mentioned that was a mistake since I am traveling by myself. Her response was “since you used a third party app we are unable to help you and yes you are going to be charged for 2 breakfast meals. I didn’t want to continue down this road of unprofessionalism and bad manners so I said I would contact Hotels.com myself to fix the problem. Hotels.com AI text system is useless for anything above a 1st grade question, so after 15 minutes of waited time, I called the help line by googling the info since it is not located or buried in the app. The person who took my call was very polite, and did contact the Oak Brook Marriott who said they are keeping my money, so sorry. BE CAREFUL

Accommodations were clean and comfortable. However, we were given a handicap accessible room with a shower only. On Expedia we booked for a room with a tub. Also, the door to the room was jammed shut. Therefore, we were unable to open the door with the key card. When I explained this to the young lady who checked us in at the front desk, she was rather dismissive. She scanned the key card once more and told me to try again. Also, she instructed me on how to scan the key card and turn the door handle, which I found condescending. Naturally, this did not solve the issue. Finally, after I returned to the front desk for the third time a different young lady called for the Maintenance Engineer to investigate. Once he arrived at our room, it took him approximately 20 minutes to resolve our problem. We could get in and out of the room, but it still took a little bit of muscle to open the door. There appeared to be two large events going on during our check in, so it did not seem as though they were concerned about our comfort or inconvenience at all. Very disappointed in the customer service that we received.

Seeing my wife was in a wheelchair, they made sure we had an accessible room near the elevator. Fantastic service

Family in the area for a wedding. Booked 4 rooms and the front desk was able to get all of the rooms together when we checked in. The rooms were updated, very clean and comfortable.

Staff was very hospitable even the cleaners that cleaned my room. They said good morning everytime they see me down the hall.

The property itself is nice and with updated furnishings. Staff was courteous and professional. I am, however, very disappointed with the online booking as I expected a room with a separate seating area as pictured online. My room was an ordinary room with double beds and there was not even a bedside chair. I had paid more for this “club” room. I asked the front desk to at least provide me with another chair as my room mate and I did not want to only have the option of sitting on the beds. We never received the chair. Unfortunately, there was no electronic memory to confirm what type of room was reserved (was this an intentional bait and switch?). To make matters worse, at checkout the breakfast, which was supposed to be included, was billed to the room. Again, no electronic memory to support the fact that breakfast was supposed to be included.

Great location and rooms

Walkable to Oak Brook Mall and 30-40 min to downtown Chicago and both MDW and ORD, this hotel is very centrally located. Staff was amazing, rooms very clean and spacious. We will be back. Thanks!

The hotel is very runned down! In desperate need of renovation. The room has no USB ports and my husband and were not able to charge our phones! Our room was next to the highway and it was so noisy! Very disappointed!

The hotel is very nice and our room was recently remodeled and therefore in considerably good condition. The elevators were very responsive so never had to wait long. The restaurant was nice and prices were reasonable..

Food at the bar was surprisingly good.

Was told about continental breakfast but didn’t tell us we didn’t get it for free. Got a $40 bill. Not cool

Everything was amazing at this hotel. Check in was great, Justin was so polite!! Breakfast was really good and I had the M club access for appetizers and soda/water/coffee and it was wonderful. We were in the renovated rooms and they are beautiful. I don't know how many are finished being renovated but maybe ask for one when checking in. They are really nice.

The bedding was comfortable and clean room. The drapes did not slide apart, it shouldn’t be difficult to do so. Guests need natural light in the mornings. Breakfast was good but we ordered room service and it was not hot and there was no way to heat it. No coffee was sent as per the menu. The event that was going on was extremely too loud for arriving guests to feel at ease!
