The hotel was conveniently located near my daughter's school. The staff were friendly. The hotel and the room had an unpleasant odor, and there were poor repairs in the bathroom tub and shower. Additionally, mold and hair were present in the tub, and stains were visible in the toilet. The pool had no water in it, and the area was being used to store bottled water.

I booked a single room with one king-size bed for myself and my partner through Expedia. When we arrived to check in, they gave us a double with two extra large twins and said no other rooms were available, even though I booked the room well in advance. The pool was being used as a storage room and closed off, so that was a disappointment as well. There is only one elevator and it works when going up but seems to not work at all when going down (we were on the top floor.) All in all, I am not pleased and will not be returning.

Wanted to use pool but room and pool were extremely cold-felt like they left it cold so nobody could use it in the winter. Staff was nice - coffee maker in room does not make dark cup of coffee -went to lobby to get coffee instead.

Our room was never cleaned. Had to go to the desk for clean towels. Even after going to the desk no one came to clean it. Guest in the hall were loud until 1am. AC broken in the lobby to hot to take eat the breakfast. Very disappointing. Checked out a day early.

What I liked was the location, easy access, and the breakfast was good. What I didn't like was it was dingy, rundown and dirty. The bed was awful and HARD. We heard our neighbors talking on both sides. We had to ask to have our room cleaned. I will not be staying there again

I was given a room that wasn't properly cleaned and had a horrible smell. Maintenance or the housekeeping staff even left equipment behind in the room. Thankfully, someone canceled their reservation, and I could have my room switched because the staff kept saying the hotel was fully booked as if we had no choice but to stay in the smelly room.

Hampton Inn just doesn’t seem to be what it was, or at least this one doesn’t. Sparse room, uncomfortable hard bed, two regular size pillows & two pillows that seemed to be 1/2 size on a king bed. Just disappointing.

Location for cruising was very good. It was a very old hotel. It did seem safe and was clean. Included breakfast was good. Beds were fine, pillows were laughable (we asked for extras because they were so small and thin— they said they didn’t have any). Showers were terrible— no water pressure at all, and only lukewarm water.

Excellent check-in. Well-run and efficient Hampton Inn. Water pressure in the showers and sink sometimes left something to be desired, and one day maybe they'll get toilets a bit higher (these are pretty low). Breakfast one day was just fine but no fruit first thing (0600); the next day the hot food was all cheese and potato stuff (no). They can't all be winners! Still a good place to stay

Overall it was great. Had issue with the tv cable. Had to call and the maintenance guy had to come in and found the cable was ripped out of the back of the tv. Then the AC/heater never go the room above 64 degrees as the unit was short cycling.

Upon trying to check-in, the computer system was down and not was a large line that had formed in the lobby. The clerks there were very apologetic, but had no idea how long it would be before the system would be restored. Luckily, my wife and I only had to wait about an hour, but some of the individuals had been waiting for much longer. On day 2 on our stay, the water to our floor was turned off without warning or notification, as my wife in the shower. Luckily, she had not used any soap or shampoo as of yet. But needless to say she was a little upset. I spoke to the front desk and they said that they were not told the water was going to get cut off either and they did not know how long it would be off. I understand you cant please everyone, all the time. however the bed in our room was extremely hard. On a better note, most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good each morning. And the hotel was very clean and in a good location.

Our first night was terrible. The toilet in our room did not work, and the phone was also out of service, so my husband had to go downstairs to report it. Instead of maintenance, he was sent back with a plunger and told we’d have to wait until the next day since no one was available to fix it. This was extremely inconvenient, especially with two young granddaughters and no working toilet all night. The next day, maintenance came but still couldn’t fix the issue. We were told we’d have to wait until another guest checked out before we could move. Once we finally got into the new room, it was much better—clean and more comfortable. Overall, the cleanliness was okay, but the first-night experience left a very negative impression. The second room improved our stay, but the lack of urgency and proper response on the first night was very disappointing

Great fitness room (small but well-equipped with modern equipment and weights). Thank you for replacing the treadmill! Loved the fact that there is always free hot coffee, bananas and apples @ the lobby. I will keep coming back because of the excellent service, value and the nice-to-haves!

Our son was deploying from the Naval station, he lived very close to the hotel. This is a fantastic location for anyone visiting their family members at the Norfolk Navy Base. The staff was very friendly. Nothing bad at all to say about this Hotel.

The staff was very pleasant and easy to deal with. The room and building were both very clean. It was a very nice stay. The only point I have is maybe replacing the tvs in the rooms with smart tvs, which would allow customers to use their streaming services, instead of basic cable.
