This hotel was everything we wanted it to be. It was beautiful, clean, and close to transportation. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a wonderful bar/restaurant in the basement that has a cute outdoor patio. We would stay here again for all of these reasons and the amazing proximity to so many places!

Liked the location of the property. The front desk area is very minimal, could use some warmth. Thought the lobby chandelier was beautiful, but not quite in harmony with the orchid. The room was well-appointed, appreciated the blackout shades. The bed could have been softer for my liking, the mattress was very firm. The gym was small but well-appointed for a small space. Disappointed in the Berkley restaurant/bar- lacked basic customer service as in greeting guests, checking in on guests once food was delivered, asking if wanted another drink, waiting for bill/then payment.

This AKA location is newly remodeled within the past year. I had stayed here previously. It is a great location and convenient to Back Bay, Boston Common, and other Boston neighborhoods. Service is very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant has good food at typical hotel restaurant prices. Gym is quite small but has new equipment, and AKA guests have use of nearby Equinox health club that is fantastic. Common areas of the lobby are OK, but not very community-like (no bustling hotel lobby like some places). Recommended for people that want a nice quiet hotel with friendly service.

Fantastic hotel, with a great location! So many things in walking distance, friendly staff, super comfortable beds, and built in “cubbies” in the bathroom were used and greatly appreciated. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for amenities is the hotel site lists a grocery/convenience area and after searching for a beverage I was told they had nothing of the sort on site.

Staff was amazing. Room was loud and construction on hotel was super annoying. We got very little sleep in five days and were still charged a “destination fee” daily. Very disappointed.

It would’ve been nice to know that the property was not fully constructed. I was also disappointed to spend almost $70 a day for valet parking and it took them over 40 minutes to retrieve my car.

We booked the premium room at the hotel, but it was not premium in any way. The lobby was very clean and modern, but the room was not. The carpet in the room was soft, and I can tell the room was once luxurious. It’s not anymore. There are stains on our sheet. Bathroom sink has mold like spots. The toilet does not work well - it struggles to refill the tank. Worst of all, the room was on the fourth floor and facing a major road, and it was very noisy. We were there for only one night and checked in quite late at around 9 pm. So, perhaps we got a bad room. I saw the review is so high, so expected it to be better. We visit the area often and feel like this hotel is worse than the standard room in many hotels nearby, including Hilton Back Bay, Marriott at Copley place, Copley square hotel, and Westin Hotel.

This boutique hotel is in a good location, walkable, and close to transportation. The staff is friendly and welcoming. This used to be the Lowes hotel but it got a renovation and has a more sophisticated and subtle decor. We stayed in the standard room with a king size bed for two night, and it was comfortable. The only complaint we had was a funny smell in the room which might have been from the carpet or air conditioner and our room did not get serviced during our stay. The manager did apologize when we checked out and tried to remedy the situation, which we appreciated.

A+ stay at aka Back Bay. This hotel was extremely clean and our room was well appointed. Conveniently located near public transportation and easily walkable to shopping and eating establishments. Would recommend this location to others and would stay here again.

Hotel location was perfect, as we were visiting local colleges. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Room was very comfortable. Unfortunately, it wasn't particularly clean when we arrived, specifically the bathroom. There was still hair around the room, and the toilet hadn't been properly cleaned.

This is a great hotel in a safe area and pretty much in the middle of everything you would want to visit in the city. It’s quiet and has a restaurant but I did have brunch there and it wasn’t very good, so I would skip the food. The room is a little small and bed is low. They have a couch and a desk that takes up too much room and only one drawer. We were there for 3 days and had to live out of our suitcase, it didn’t make sense. They did just renovate a year ago so I don’t expect a lot of changes but the storage is an issue. Bathroom is nice and bedding was soft.

The hotel was fine. The lobby is inviting and modern. The valet didn't come to the car nor offer to help. The room had two double sized beds (vs Queen) so it was tight with 3 people. The air conditioning was extremely loud so we went from turning it on just to have some cool air to turning it off to avoid the sound. Back and forth. It was, however, very clean. Not sure we will be back.

I really loved my stay at AKA Downtown, so I was excited to try AKA Back Bay — but it ended up being a bit disappointing. The location is great, but my standard room was very small and felt a bit dated. For the high price, I really expected more. On top of that, the street noise was a bout annoying during the night.

Nice 4 star hotel, great location. Rooms aren’t luxurious but very clean and comfortable and the beds are really comfortable. Pillows are a little thin. Berkeley street is noisy at night so higher floors are better.

The Customer Service at Hotel AKA Back Bay was impeccable! Location was perfect...close to Newbury Street, Boston Public Gardens, Boston Common, Beacon Hill, Fenway Park, the subway, etc. There was a Trader Joe's a few blocks away. The Friendly Toast, just around the corner, is a very good breakfast option. Our flight arrived at 8:30 AM and we were able to access our room when we arrived at the hotel which was very helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the entire staff!!!

The staff not one time said hey how are you today or anything whenever we came in. It would be different if they had people at the desk but they weren’t. As we were leaving for the airport interesting of saying would you guys like someone to get your bags outside for you they watched us drag them down the stairs. I am also in a boot so it’s a little hard for me to walk so it would’ve been nice if I was asked if need help

The property was well maintained and well located. We stayed at AKA hotel Back Bay from July 2-July 5. The assistant General manager Ryan Stephan was wonderful and helpful with accommodating an early check in as well as accommodating for a later check out. He provided recommendations of places to see and eat, and overall had a great personality. Also Chris who was one of the porters was always there to help assist with our bags, and getting the door for us.

Hotel opened 3 years ago as aka so everything still new and very well maintained. Contemporary design and furnishings. Breakfast excellent. Location ideal, nice part of town. Can walk everywhere. Staff wonderful. Will return.

My 2nd time staying at an AKA hotel. First time I stayed at AKA Boston common. Love the atmosphere. Bar service was excellent. We arrived at 8pm-ish and the restaurant was closed but bar was open. Very friendly service, and food was very good.
