Rooms were clean and staff was amazing. There is work being done on the courtyard but the pool was open. Perfect spot to be able to walk and see all the sites in NOLA. Bar had live music every night. If we go back I will definitely stay there again.

The entrance was amazing! The room itself did not meet my expectations from the picture online. We had to call front desk to get someone to fix the shower. Also, the speaker went off in our room around 9:50pm regarding an hotel emergency. We jumped out of bed and took the stairs to the lobby. Mind you we smelled smoke, once the speaker went off so we rushed out of the room. After we got an all clear one of the staff members said something to my husband about not having on a shirt. Meanwhile, all the older women are down there in gowns. Who had time to worry about it a shirt when we get an alarm that they were having an emergency in the building. Also there were hidden fees I wasn’t aware of. The balcony chairs are very outdated as well. This was my first time visiting New Orleans, and I’ll never stay at The Royal Sonesta again.

The hotel was under construction and not in full working capacity. Staff was very unhelpful and could care less of there guests. My first room the bathroom flooded not once but twice and due to the air conditioning unit they said so had no AC in 100 degree heat Then they did move me to another room and still had the same thing happen. And to top it all off there was not one but several huge roaches in both rooms. Asked to speak to management and explained how poor quality and service of the hotel and all they did was refund me a lousy $100 I WILL BE TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW NEVER TO STAY HERE AND TO SPREAD THE WORD! I have been to over 54 countries and stayed at a lot of places but this was by far the worse in quality of hotel and how they could care less and the treatment of there quests . I am on many philanthropic organizations and also know lots of influential people I hope this never happens to them and hopefully your doors will just close and no one will every have to go thru this ordeal that I had to. And I was traveling with other people in two other rooms with similar poor sub standard conditions and very poor customer service NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL John T
