Meco Hotel

What guests think

Reviews of Meco Hotel - Hostel describe a modern, pod-style stay in a very convenient location by North Station and TD Garden, with generally clean facilities, privacy curtains and storage, and helpful staff, though experiences vary on noise and comfort.

Many find it affordable for Boston, but several feel the per-night price is high for a shared pod. Common areas are limited and there is no finished kitchen or laundry, though coffee and light pastries are usually offered in the morning. While bathrooms are often spotless, some reviews note occasional maintenance or cleanliness lapses, non-locking doors, and mixed service interactions. Expect a simple, no-frills pod stay best suited to short visits.

As a solo young female, this place felt extremely safe. Facilities were very clean. Only thing I would recommend is bringing your own hair shampoo and conditioner as there was only universal liquid soap in the bathroom. Everything else was awesome!

Overall a good hostel to stay at in a centralized area with great cleaning and a solid bed situation providing privacy and 2 outlets/light switch/other switches that adjustment the bed or something. It's mostly held back from the incompleteness of the property(the kitchen is not done, supposed to be on the 7th floor) and lack of common area to eat food since there's only 4 tiny tables in the entrance area. The storage is under your bed and is very spacious. There is also an elevator that goes to all floors. The one thing that was odd about the bed is that it's all covered except there's a window where people can just peer in if they want to. Also, all the bathroom doors on my floor except one were not lockable because whoever built it didn't put a sliding door lock on the sliding doors. The towels are in the bathroom area ready to use with a bin to dispose of them which is convenient. Some pastries were in the front room at breakfast time and that's also where you refill your water or make coffee I think. Everything else relating to the kitchen is not yet available. Most of the issues are with the construction which means it can be improved, but it's still good in it's current state.

Cleanliness

Frequently praised as very clean across pods and bathrooms, with fresh towels. Some report lapses like dirty showers, a missed restock, a cockroach sighting, and sheets not changed, so standards can be inconsistent.

Immaculate accommodation. Extremely clean and well organised. Very friendly and helpful staff from the check in desk staff to the lady who changes the beds on the 2nd floor. Bathrooms are incredibly clean and fluffy bath towels are supplied. I expected a long wait to use the bathroom but there were several and all were free whatever time of day I wanted to use one. Basic breakfast is supplied but I didn’t expect anything at this price point. Beds are incredibly comfortable too. Only thing I’d say is bring earplugs for your stay 😁

Nice hostel. Staff are lovely and helpful. 24 hour reception. Plenty of extra toilets and showers on the floor in addition to the ensuite. Only thing I can say other than that is the floor in the room needed vacuuming or sweeping a lot better, and perhaps more regularly. There was always stuff left behind, especially behind the locker doors. Very close to North Station as well, so very handy getting around.

First time staying. I would say it’s good when you’re in the budget, traveling alone, with not a lot to carry around, and just need a place to stay for the night. It is a little bit uncomfortable sleeping in bed and you might want to bring your own pillows and blankets. The area is pretty clean and modern. The staff is friendly.

Nice little hostel for a quick night after a delayed flight. Felt safe in my 4-bed room and slept well in my pod (would not be good for those with claustrophobia though). First time in a hostel in about 40 years, and would def come back for an inexpensive night in Boston.

Perfect for solo travel for work in a "pod" or "capsule" like room. The amenities were clean and modern, featuring an automatic sitting up bed, lights, fan and privacy curtain in each pod. There was ample storage beneath the bed with a rolling tray that was as big as the bed itself. Be sure to ask front desk for a lock to secure your belongings. Public restrooms/showers were clean and modern, and the public kitchen/gathering location on the 7th floor was a nice plus. Location was fantastic as TD Garden and T Line (Green) is right across the street, with shops like CVS, 7-Eleven, and Star Market within 1 block. Overall highly recommended for solo traveling professionals looking for affordable, yet modern accommodation.
