What guests think
At HOTEL FUEGO BRONX, reviews portray a budget stay with some clean, newly renovated rooms and modern bathrooms, but recurring complaints cite thin walls and train noise, cleanliness inconsistencies, limited amenities, and a rough, sometimes unsafe-feeling surrounding area.
Many note very small rooms and hard mattresses. Service feedback is mixed, ranging from friendly, helpful staff to slow check-ins, unresponsiveness, and difficulty with refunds or room changes. Parking is scarce or unavailable, while some appreciated access to transit and nearby stores. Overall, expect a basic, no-frills stay where value competes with variable standards.

Facilities
Facilities are limited: many reviews report no on-site parking or very hard-to-find street parking, and rooms often lack refrigerators or microwaves. Vending and ice machines are unreliable in several reports.

The hotel room was okay for the 2 days stay. The room was clean. The staff was limited. No parking available and the area did not look too safe.

I love the shower that was put in. However the parking situation is almost unbearable. A lot needed to be built for this property

Unless there is a major necessity, it is a terrible place to stay at. Dirty and small rooms, snack machines they advertise are out of service, ice maker needs to be turned on each time because they turn it off every time (maybe to save electricity) and then you have to wait 30 minutes to get the cubes, no refrigerator inside queen rooms though advertised and so on. Room doors are metal so every time you open/close they make wild noise. Bottom line: AVOID THE PLACE UNLESS YOU HAVE AN EXTREME NECESSITY TO STAY AT THIS PARTICULAR PLACE!

The room was awesome, but that's also due to the fact that the hotel is new. I enjoyed the room a lot. The was absolutely nowhere to park tho, so be prepared to drive around looking for parking. The area isn't all that safe as well so be careful when traveling on foot.

Website for the hotel said free parking. No free parking. Hotel desk staff said we don't have parking but there's a lot down the street but couldn't tell me where. Drove around unsafe neighborhood with broken car glass on the streets. Didn't feel safe parking on these surrounding streets. After hours of looking for parking, I had to struggle to find another place to stay at 10pm. I don't think I should have to pay for this terrible experience. Please refund.

The metro north track are next to the building, as they are not loud but do make noise. The hotel is new and the rooms are clean. The mattress are very hard. The staff is very helpful. Do shop online for the best rate as the front desk rate are much higher.

This Hotel is by far the worst Hotel on this website! For the amount of money we paid for the room was ridiculous. I’ve paid less for Hotels and had better service and better rooms. Our room smelled the cigarettes, the toilet was clogged, the faucet on the sink was loose and moved all over the place. The towels were ripped and there were no toiletries like it states. The sheets were stained and the mattress was a piece of foam on a metal frame that made the worst noise. We were promised a new room and the room they attempted to give us was worse than the one we were in. We asked for new towels and they gave us towels from their lost and found that others had left behind and the smelled like bad cigars. People screaming and yelling and fighting in the Hallway all night. We had to endure this for three nights for my mother’s funeral because the cost of this Hotel did not allow for me to book another hotel. We need to be compensated for this disaster!

My room which was 202 didn’t even lock all the way. I feel like all hotels should have a safe and also drawers which wasn’t available. Smoke holes in the sheets and comforter, bought my own cleaning supplies because the tub had hair in it. But I guess this the price for wanting to be at a hotel near Fordham. Don’t know if I would return but thanks for having me.

Rooms
Rooms are small with minimal storage, and several guests noted hard mattresses and thin walls; track-facing rooms can pick up train noise. Modern bathrooms are praised, though tiny sinks and open shower layouts divide opinion.

Throughout our stay an alarm in one room went off the entire first night keeping us up. The third night someone kept pulling thw fire alarm due to a dispute with the hotel. Walls are very thin. Tv doesnt work well. Accessible bathroom was nice, but the button for ground floor elevator does not work. Works can be fairly short and unwelcoming at times.

We chose this hotel again because it's usually quiet. It's close to transportation, grocery stores and restaurants. The king size bed was great but the room was kinda small. Plus there was a couple fighting. The bed took up most of the room space. We left home so we can get some peace and quiet but that didn't happen Saturday, August 16,2025. So with that happening we will not be staying there again.

Not a good day at all ended up getting another hotel after the first night. The doors of the room are high , so all the noise from outside and lights goes under door. You can hear every conversation from all the rooms including sex noise. Anyone uses the elevator you can hear all that noise anyone walking through the hallway. You can hear the noise if they're talking in the hallway. It's super loud you can hear it through the doors. The sink of the bathroom is tiny like a baby sink. Do not recommend this place.

The bed cover were nice and the bed was made well, the rug on the wall good. The air conditioner could switch over from hot to cold the pleasant view of the window , sunlight shining through. I felt like my vitamins d levels when up when I open those curtain. The bathroom was astonishing long white tiles , excellent shower , the shower head was shaped like a rectangle having little tiny holes that when the wanna came out each hole had water spraying on each spot , so relaxing when it hit my back the soap was honey flavor the body wash was good , don’t let get started on the mirror , had its own light touch screen buttons the tv had Netflix , Disney , Hulu , watch boys meet world good episode. Slept like a baby.

Upside: the bathroom & shower are impeccably up to date, & would be considered luxurious in a modern apartment or house. Downside: I can appreciate the bathroom-style vent fan in the bedroom area that turns on when the lights are switched on, but it seems that little can be done about the musky human body odor (probably that of males) emanating from the walls & ceiling. I was willing to put up w/ it for a one-night visit, but it was especially bad after I showered shortly before checking out; I got out of the bathroom feeling clean & refreshed, only to gag on the thick foul-smelling man-scent. All of this might be a product of this hotel catering to all "different kinds of tourism," but it's also a glimpse into "real New York" w/ its unusual location.

I didn’t even stay there for 1 night out of the 3 I booked. After checking in, I received the key and went up to the room. My partner checked the room and found an open window and tried to close it. It wouldn’t close so we went downstairs and asked for them to close the window. The woman said she’ll try but eventually she said it couldn’t be locked but the curtain will cover it up for the night. I refused and asked for another room but she said all they had were smoking rooms which cost more than the room I booked. I then asked for a refund but they said only Expedia can do it because I booked it through them. I contacted Expedia and they said the hotel manager needed to authorized it. Expedia reached out to the hotel while I was there and for 3 days after with no response. I wouldn’t attempt to stay here again.

Arrive at 4:00pm one hour after the “check in” and still wait almost 1 hr 1/2 half more because they did the “check in” base on who came first…?? and what about the check in 3:00pm??? I paid TWO rooms and one of them said he wants to leave when we ask they said you need to call “expedia” and they will do it, when I did it they call the hotel- hotel says NO we cant cancel (we can) but we would NOT return the money.. so it was stay or stay. Once in a lifetime - never again.

On 1st day a lady from reception started yelling at 4am and woke us up because of argument with another guest. At 2nd somebody started vacuuming room next to ours at 2am and started the door lock alarm and left it on for couple hours!!!! Despite the fact that hair dryer was mentioned to be available there was none in the room or even at the reception desk. Area next to the hotel is full of trash and homeless people, not safe at all. Also inside you can smell smoke all the time and strange smell from AC. Bathroom has signs of mold, mattress has a plastic cover on it therefore every move on the bed generates strange noise and it’s really hard to rest. If you have no other option it’s ok for one-two nights maximum but only if your expectations are very low and you have very limited budget

The actual room and hotel is pretty decent.it is in the middle of a very economically depressed neighborhood and the surrounding blocks have a lot of sketchy conditions like garbage and pet droppings. You have to walk three blocks to the nearest subway entrance and it’s through some really rough areas with drug use and people in pretty bad shape all around. There are some decent folks and people making the best of their situation and nobody bothered me on any of my trips to and from the subway late hours. It’s just very unsightly and tough to observe the behaviors and struggles people endure there. The room was clean and the hotel was clean but the halls don’t have carpets and people stay up late so she acoustics in the halls are extremely loud. There is a train that passes through on the regular but I used ear plugs so it helped. Because of the rough journey to and from the subways I think I’d avoid staying there especially if I had a wife and kids but it would do in a pinch.

It’s very unfortunate and dissatisfying that All night I’ve had to deal with loud noise from people fighting outside the hotel and police sirens. There was a large crowd infront of the hotel which didn’t let me go out to even go to a store nearby. There was bugs flying in the bathroom. The room was so small no space to even walk around or literally do anything. The bathroom floor was dirty and had smudges as if someone was already in there before I entered the room. The ice from the ice machine also had a disgusting taste to it. I slept so uncomfortably.

I’m sure there are motels better than this place. No blanket. Non matching sheets. No ashtray in a smoking room. At best, 2 hours of a good time. Never for an overnight which I paid for.

We didn't dig further into the area until after we arrived. Not a good area. Hourly rates. Plexiglass front desk.
