If you are going to watch hockey at the Arena, this is the hotel for you. This was by far the easiest and most stress free experience I had staying away from home and going to an event. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful, the place was really clean. The room was immaculate… honestly amazing stay. Oh, and parking was EASY!

Location is excellent! Walkable to the X and many restaurants. Staff was always really friendly and accommodating. Gave us a shuttle ride to our venue whe we asked. Parking is the only tricky part. You’re supposed to pull in, check in, then park in the ramp. Also you have to keep your ticket to get back into the ramp. However Holiday Inn doesn’t own the ramp, so none of this is their fault. It’s just tricky. Hotel will reimburse you for most of the parking if you check in first.

This hotel has a parking ramp associated with it. They throw alot of info at you at checking, part of it about the ramp. We made an error, and did not do the ramp correctly. My husband used his credit card to get in assuming that would work. When we needed to leave, it would not let him out. He ran the same credit card, but the gate would not open. We had to borrow a parking pass from my daughter. When we were leaving, the gate opened without us doing anything. It was very irritating. When we told the front desk about our troubles, he said that happens all the time. If so, shouldn't something be done about it. THAT put a damper on the whole trip.

I didn’t know there was a roof top bar! That was the best surprise! Pool was WAY too chlorine-y though. Twice when swimming I had to get up and rinse my eyes because they burned so bad. I didn’t even go underwater. My eyes still kind of burn today. Otherwise great

The hotel was great. Friendly staff, clean and close to everything. Unexpected fee for parking ($21) per night, but was very secure. We were on the second floor and the street noise was terrible! Do yourself a favor and ask for a room higher up. They have 8 floors to choose from.

Cleanliness is not super great, dirty walls in many areas of the entire building. kind of beat up. Small rooms and bathroom. Found a dirty sock in the middle of the floor of our room, very stick remote. The pop machine was incredibly loud and vibrating against the walls the entire night. Very very convenient location for getting to arena.

This was the worst stay I’ve ever had. To be honest we actually didn’t even stay. The room was dirty, insulation in corners by the heat registers. Smelled of mildew, the floor was actually damp. We left at midnight and no one at the front desk would help us with these problems. I’d like a full refund.

Huge Blood stain smeared all over bathroom door, absolutely disgusting and filthy. Clogged shower, clogged toilet, humid room, dirt all over walls. Mold and Mildew in bathroom. Photos available & ready fo share!!! General manager would not accommodate. Sent us back up to blood stained room after he said it’s absolutely disgusting and said that he would solve this problem and find a solution and in no way did he want us to go back to this horrible room. Come to find out hotel is sold out and refused to pay for a stay for us across the street at a clean hotel and sent us back to this heath hazard dump. Stacy the manager on duty called the general manager— and he did nothing but make the bad situation worse. 1:30 AM and here we are. This hotel should be a 1 star at best. And people running the hallways loud!!

We stayed here for a concert at The Excel Center, so it was convenient and we expected it to be busy & noisy. The room seemed clean, but very dark. There are 2 small lamps next to the bed and thats it. The small fridgr in thr room didnt work.. We didnt hear any noise above us. We had a window facing the busy downtown & were next to the elevator. Would stay again, but request a non-street facing window

Property location couldn’t be beat for an event downtown. The staff were friendly and offered suggestions for restaurants within walking distance. However, the rooms were small, the fridge and TV didn’t work and the walls were extremely thin. You could hear anytime someone walked by your door. Sounded as if they were in your room.

This stay has me considering never booking an IHG property again. The bed was motel 6 quality, the walls were so thin I could hear upstairs and next door using the bathroom and shower, plus actual conversations - hallway noise I can understand, but this was unbelievable. Front desk at check in was brusque and when I saw where I was, I checked to see if another room NOT next to an ice machine was available for my 4 night, business stay, I didn’t even get a “sorry”, just “No, nothing else available”. There were no luggage carts at check out, because housekeeping was using them to cart soap refills! There is also no reason for housekeeping to vacuum hallways at 9pm - twice during this stay. After the first interaction with the front desk, I didn’t even bother bringing up the lack of water pressure, hot water, and a mostly-clogged sink… One rough and noisy night, I can handle - I’m an outside salesperson who spends ~100 nights a year in hotels. But 4 nights? I’m never staying here again, and I’ve informed my trade association of 120 members to avoid this property for our 2x/year events. It is clear this place needs much better management, or a downgrade to one of IHG’s more budget brands. I haven’t had such a lousy week in decades.

The major highlight about the property was its proximity to the Xcel Energy Center. I liked the hospitality at the check-in in particular. As for the room, I was given a quiet room on the top floor. The lowlights about the room were the following: 1) no mini-bar, 2) no safe, and 3) a low-flow toilet that worried me the few times I flushed, and 4) no plunger.

View and feel of the room was great. The only complaints we have is that the mattress was very hard and the shower rod was mounted backwards making the curve of the curtain inside of the shower making it smaller than it should be.

We had a long layover in MSP, this was the perfect spot! Everyone was super friendly and helpful; the room was just what we needed and the shuttle took us everywhere we needed to go. Will definitely stay here again!! We flew in to MSP at 9am and left on the Amtrak at 11pm.

Had a wonderful two night stay. The entire staff was so friendly. Had a great and easy check in at the desk. Love that there is a parking garage. FYI you do have to pay for the parking garage, but it is accessible 24/7 and saves you time looking for parking on the road. There was a pool and hot tub which we also enjoyed. Hotel is in a perfect location. Def recommend this Holiday Inn for your next stay.

Front desk associate who checked me in was very professional and helpful. Evening desk staff and security...kinda sketchy and goofing around with each other in the lobby at 11:30 pm. Noise from Wild Bills attached to the lobby was insanely loud. I mean, if I was arriving to check in at the hotel and was greeted by that noise and chaos, I'd go find another hotel. Room was exceptionally clean and neat. Loved the larger size refrigerator. Housekeeping staff was way to loud in the morning talking to each other down the hall. Parking facility was fine, but had trouble with the barcode pass you need to get in and out of the stairwell to access the ramp. It didn't work half the time. I dislike that IHG/Holiday Inn doesn't give you rewards credit unless you book through them. I mean, what's the point?

The property was good, but it is in a kind of "seedy" area. I went to dinner outside of the hotel and felt uncomfortable walking a block by myself. There were homeless people on the street & when I checked out a homeless man warming himself in the entry to the hotel. There was a hotel employee there making sure he did not bother anyone, but it was unpleasant.

Our room was awesome. Zero complaints. The hotel staff were kind and friendly. The restaurant, however, was awful. Fryer not hot enough to cook cheese curds and wings properly. The next days breakfast had off tasting sausage and cold hashbrowns. I probably won't recommend this hotel, due to the restaurant, even though the hotel itself, was terrific.

It was right in the middle of everything. Perfect place if you are going to the X. I wouldn't recommend Wild Bill's(the restaurant attached to the hotel). Know that you'll pay 23 bucks for parking too.

Guest services was very helpful and location was great to the Xcel center. There was a mystery stain on our bed and the headboard had a greasy handprint. The pool was a bit cold but decent size. There's no free breakfast but there's an ad that kids 11 and under eat free but you have to have the coupon which was impossible to get.

Everything was fine with the room, however, waking up around 8am to a bunch of workers talking in the hallway right outside our door kinda sucked. Food at Wild Bill’s……..I’ll never eat there again. 3 times now I ask for a well done burger yet, when it comes, it’s still mooing. Perfect Location For Events at the Excel Energy Center. We attended the 2024 NCAA Frozen Four Hockey Tournament. Many desirable restaurants & bars along West 7th Street. We were pleased with Louis Ristorante & Waldmann's Brewery. Helpful Staff supported an Early Check-In. Real Breakfast, ordered off a menu, at no extra charge, for each morning of the stay. (Note that this may require membership in the IHG Rewards program.) Nice Package Deal on Expedia combined Air & Lodging.
