Hotel was very nice, clean, and location was perfect for events in walking distance… however for such a large hotel with 21 floors they only have 3 elevators and one was broken and the other 2 couldn’t handle the amount of people so they kept breaking, they would suddenly drop floors and the doors would open and close and random, we saw a man get his fingers stuck and a lady had her luggage bust off.. so with that several people had to do stairs and being on the higher levels was tough

entrance being under construction made it really difficult to get dropped off / picked up by Ubers (messed with the GPS), seemed as if the thermostat wasn't working, the room was so hot and never cooled down during the entire stay, and there were no water bottles in the room or clearly marked place to refill a thermos. The elevator was also painfully slow, ended up using the stairs at one point because it was taking so long.

The outside and lobby was beautiful. The first room they give us on the 21th floor was terrible. The ceiling had water marks and it was peeling. The bathroom was very stink. We decided to ask for another room. The receptionist told me the reason why the bathroom was stink is because of the river water which I disagree. They put us in another room which was okay. The room was too small for the amount of money we paid. The room was cold the whole time and they control the heat. The vent was dirt, window curtains was dirty. This was our first time and last at this hotel.

Parking is always interesting. But did find a open, somewhat somewhat close parking ramp. Inconvenient due to pouring rain tho. Check in and out was quick. Next morning a plate of old food was outside another quests door a few doors down. There when we went for breakfast and there when we checked out at 11. Rooms were being cleaned around ours because the cart was on the floor. Breakfast was in the restaurant and had an awesome selection of items! Fresh fruit too!

We booked two rooms and one rooms air conditioning wasn't working. They were moved to a new room where the shower showed evidence of no proper cleaning. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything the person next door is doing which made it inconvenient for sleeping purposes. The curtains in all rooms were quite dirty and dusty.

Stay was so-so. Staff were friendly and great but our room had a sick smell upon arrival. We found a wet spot on the floor (by stepping in it) where someone had clearly thrown up as identified by the awful smell at the spot. While there was an attempt by housekeeping to clean it, it was clearly not enough. The hotel was apparently booked solid as they could not offer an alternate equivalent room, so we had to instead find something to do and leave the room for housekeeping to try again. Again, a valiant attempt however, the smell still wasn’t gone. We also put a towel over the wet spot to avoid stepping in it and by the time morning came, the towel had started to turn an orangish brown. Would have otherwise been a great stay, but the smell and wet spot right between both beds made for a not so great evening.

There was very little TP in our room and we had to go to the front desk for more. Also our coffee maker was very dirty and took a long time to clean it our before we could make coffee in the morning. Usually we really enjoy our stay here. Not so much this time.

I had a really unfortunate experience having stayed at the intercontinental a few other times. There was foreign hair on our shower wall upon our arrival, the shower was also severely clogged, the safe was already locked and unaccessible, the trash can had trash (food and kcups). It was really disappointing having paid a significant amount for the reservation and management seemed unapologetic.

Lots of homeless in the area. I feel bad for the hotel and especially the valet parking drivers. My only complaint about the room was that it was small (which I know if common in downtown areas) and the shower did not have a door or shower curtain. Neither my husband nor I could figure out how to avoid getting water all over the floor. Make sure to keep the bathroom door closed after taking a shower as the steam will set off the smoke alarm.

On the upside, the Valet staff was welcoming & outstanding! Quick to greet us & assist with luggage when Bell staff was not available! Property was clean & comfortable. Breakfast at Citizen was excellent! Property was walking distance to the venue where we were seeing a concert. On the downside, we did have an issue with the a/c. Tried calling the operator and/or Front Desk from the room multiple times but we were unsuccessful getting through. We even tried calling from our cell phones but still no calls would connect. We had to physically go down to report issue. We were assured that an Engineer would be up shortly. Over an hour later, Engineer showed up, assessed the situation & said he’d be back in 10 minutes with a portable a/c unit. Another hour later & still no Engineer. Start the process of calling & visiting the Front Desk again. Agent extended apologies & assured he’d follow up with Engineer to see when he’d be coming back. We finally gave up after waiting 3 hours from initial report as the problem was never rectified. By 9:30pm, we wanted to go for dinner after starting this process at 6:20! Advised Front Desk for the 3rd time! Agent was apologetic & gave us each a drink voucher for the inconvenience. We appreciated the goodwill gesture but really would’ve liked to have a functioning a/c during our stay!

My colleagues and I were hurried out of the restaurant by the bar tender. We had just ordered desert when she started to close down the bar and turn other customers away. She even brought down the security gates to encourage our departure. The worst part was that the playoffs were on and she switched off the TV without consideration. All of this occurred an hour before the regular closing time. We reported it to the manager on duty. He mostly shrugged it off, but gave a somewhat sincere apology. Not at all what I expected from the brand.

I called ahead of time to inform the hotel that the person would only have their ID on them. They didn’t have a credit card on them. I informed them they could use my card on file with the booking for any incidentals. They said it would be ok. I cannot comment the current status of the property or the area simply because I was just trying g to provide a safe place for the night for the person checking in for one night. I understand the hotel has a policy. But when I’m informed that the individual checking in would be able to check in with just their ID I was under the impression that things would be ok. The hotel night manager explained that all their employees are aware of the check in policies and that a card would be necessary. The employee I spoke with obviously was not aware and needs further training or should be relieved of his position. So this is the reason for making this review. Don’t inform the person who booked the reservation for someone else who was only seeking refuge for the night and would be gone the following morning.

Beautiful view of the Mississippi River. Had an issue using the printer in the business center but was helped by the front desk worker Kim who printed items at the front desk and had it done in less than 5 minutes. Great Service and Value with Clean Rooms and good/safe walking distance to Xcel Energy Center.

from check in to check out - this was a wonderful hotel. We will definately be back when we are in the TC again. Loved the view, the staff, the room, the shower - all of it was excellent. Highly recommend this lovely hotel when you are in St Paul. There was some road construction going on - but the area around is very pretty and pedestrian friendly.

Our room was small but comfortable. We enjoyed a drink and a cheese plate at the bar the evening of our arrival. We paid extra to have breakfast included with our overnight stay, and breakfast was a disappointing experience. Do not recommend. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. Very convenient location.
