Bathrooms need work. Parking is a nightmare. The lot we were told to park in became the valet lot for the restaurant. We were never told that. We had to door dash dinner so we didn’t move the car. It’s a very busy property with the restaurant and weddings.

Everything was great, but I hope the outdoor pool can stay open until 7:00 or 8:00 during the summer. Since check-in time is at 4:00, and the outdoor pool closes at 6:00, there’s really not enough time to enjoy it. Even though there’s an indoor pool, I still prefer the outdoor one.

The check in was great. The front desk clerk, I believe his name is Perry, was very accommodating and helpful. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and courteous. The grounds were well kept and the indoor pool was great.I would highly recommend this hotel.

This property is beautiful. Far too many stairs required to get to our room. The staff was very helpful except the valet. The valet parking was the biggest mess I’ve ever experienced. And it was only hit or miss. So you pay the $20 a day but half the time you must park and retrieve your own car.

eclectic, luxury-wanted-to-be, but isn't. interesting estate, awesome restaurant andhowever, breakfast places on the property. hiwever, room comes with very basic, outdated amenities , and the most bizarre was that we didnot have ANY hook or bar in the bathroom to hang towels or clothes!!! When we asked management for it they promised they will address it but they never did. Indoor swimming pool is small, and tennis courts are closed and in bad shape (unusable)! Electric car chargers are broken and do not work either. be WARNED: sales tax on breakfast is 26%, and hotel charges nys tax, village tax and town tax, so listed price has unreasonable added taxes to it.

The property would be beautiful if it was kept up. There is piles of trash everywhere. Floors were dirty, our room had heavy mold smell, the staff gave confusing details on how to get to your room. Long hallways that are filthy and disjointed. Woke up and wanted breakfast b it they don’t open until 11am. Sat outside with everyone’s trash just left on the tables and ground. I should not have to pay for what I got.

We had large suitcases and were told we had to exit the reception, go outside then down a level. There was no lift and there were 2 sets of stairs down to that level. The floors were squeaky, everything in the next room and above could be heard. Entering the building for the rooms had a distinct musty and mould smell. The condition was terrible for a property that had so much charm. Not recommending this place at all, and I have travelled a bit.

The aesthetic of the property was very nice and unique…the cleanliness and upkeep not so much. Our bathroom was full of hair when we arrived. For the price we paid, it was disappointing to see how much of the property was not well-maintained and was also dirty. We wanted to like it more.

We found hair on the floor, There was no hot water, lights are broken, and they charged $100 for my ESA dog after the allowed it for free 6 months ago.I also read guests found used condoms and a hypo needle in their room. HORRIBLE PLACE!

We have been coming here for 10 years and the grounds are beautiful for a weekend getaway. However the condition of the hotel has really deteriorated. A lot of the pool chairs are dirty or broken. The gym had literal bugs in it. And the front desk staff has been very unfriendly about late checkouts our last two trips, aside from the one gentleman who checked us in who has been here a long time and is always very friendly.

Beautiful grounds and buildings, however there was trash everywhere. Seems like it was a busy weekend. Beds were very comfortable, amenities were average. Breakfast buffet quality was disappointing except for the omelet and waffle station.

Hotel has a such a pretty ground, could be a beautiful place but unfortunately but kept so badly! Everything is breaking apart, the chairs by the pool were broken, dirty and very old. We booked a nice room with balcony. Omg we were nearly breaking the door, so old, can't open it. We have asked for champagne glasses to the room, guy came with dirty wine glasses, I have asked him to bring clean champagne glasses, we didn't receive anything!!! Unfortunately, the place needs a huge renovation, and good service then it would be an amazing place. Thank you,

The grounds were absolutely beautiful, and it's in a great location to get to Irvington, Tarrytown, and Sleepy Hollow. The room itself was meh, and I would HIGHLY recommend requesting a room on an upper floor because my husband and I were ground level and the people in the room above us were stomping around all night and I literally could not sleep. So it wasn't great. But it is a beautiful property.

Such a beautiful property! The sunset/river views from our balcony were incredible. We did not eat at Goosefeather, but we did have breakfast which was very good. All the staff were kind and helpful. My only complaint was that the balcony area looked like it wasn't cleaned well before our stay. Overall, we had a great experience and would most definitely recommend to anyone staying in the Tarrytown/Westchester area!

The staff was very welcoming and let me check in early. I also needed a few other things and the front desk helped out. The grounds were nice with flowers and lush grass. The room was very noisy. You could hear people above stomping/ walking around all hours. Didn’t get much sleep. You could hear people talking in the hallways. The room was older all the facilities had an old, musty smell. This place needs a makeover. Would be a beautiful place again if updated.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff were friendly and check in and out. The private balcony was also beautiful, although another guest’s room has windows into the deck, so it is not very private for you on the deck or the other room’s guests. That’s unfortunately the only nice things I can say. Staying at the King Mansion is described as “luxury” and it falls entirely short. It is adjacent to the courtyard that plays loud music until 11 PM and there is a restaurant on the first floor and not well sound-proofed rooms. The room itself also felt very old and not just in a quaint, antique way, but in a way that was extremely run down. There was a missing floorboard in the room with a rusty nail sticking out of the floor, all of the doors in the room had difficulty closing with semi-functioning doorknobs and the showers is very dated. Additionally, the AC was broken. For the luxurious experience and quality promised, it falls dramatically short of expectations.

The grounds and exterior buildings are very beautiful, but interiors are outdated and a little dingy. There are ZERO elevators, so be mindful if you have a lot of luggage. They do have self-parking which is nice. Staff is friendly and check in and out was a breeze.

Rooms are out-dated. Old carpets, sub-par lighting and thin walls and floors. Parking is not easy. Resort fee of twenty dollars plus tax even if you don't use it. 4PM check-in time is a big annoyance. Front desk workers are nice nonetheless and check-in was Okay.

It wasn’t worth the money. The service was bad. One guy was working alone so I feel bad for him, but I wasn’t helped very much. He didn’t warn me that it was a long way to my room with stairs. I went back to ask if there was an elevator and he just said no sorry. So I had to lug my large suitcase and bags down and up multiple flights of stairs. Then I got to my room and had to go all the way back up to the lobby area so I could drive my car down to their parking area and find my room again. The next morning I hurt my back taking my luggage out of the hotel. Also I had called before and asked if there were microwaves in the room and somebody told me yes in every room. My room did not have a microwave so I had to go back to the lobby to warm up the food I bought from the store. Obviously the grounds are pretty and I like that it’s a historical estate, but I wouldn’t stay again because of the service. Also the rooms aren’t very nice.

After attempts to contact the property about our awful stay we have yet to receive a refund. The ac was broken , a lovely maintenance person came to fix it, but it wasn’t really fixed. We had an uncomfortable, unpleasant stay. The outdoor bar area where we spent time because it was stifling in our room, was filthy. The wing we were in was unbearably hot in the hallways. Upon checking out in the morning, the front staff person was on her phone & barely looked up. We didn’t bother to lodge a complaint with her because she was completely uninterested in her job. Following up again soon to get our refund.

Very conveniently located near Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow with quick drives to the downtown of both where a lot of dining and shopping options were located. The facility itself could use some updating and was not the cleanest it could have been- this is predominately referring to the pool and the carpets in the common spaces. It should be noted that the property itself has a lot of stairs--not sure if there is a part that is more disability friendly. We enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect for a long weekend without kids.

We were sent here by Expedia customer service after our initial booking elsewhere was cancelled, and we couldn’t have been happier! Tarrytown House Estate is a proper hotel sitting on a beautiful domain. The room was clean and convenient, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The only downside would be that breakfast costs an extra $25 per person, otherwise this hotel is most excellent. In the morning we easily drove into NYC within a half hour!

The Tarrytown House is really a pair of joined mansions with wide grounds and really interesting buildings. We only stayed overnight but wish we had had more time to explore the hotel's buildings and ground. Other guests told us it was their ideal location to stay when they came to NYC. The train is a short distance away.

This was an amazing place over winding roads up in the wooded hills above Tarrytown. It consisted of contrasts, two old mansions joined by Motel 6 like wings, landscaped grounds with fountain full of stagnant water, on site very good restaurants, and a short drive to Tarrytown Station where you can park overnight as supposedly the Ubers are unreliable.

Our stay was pleasant but this place could use a glow-up! The grounds are beautifully situated but some amenities are old and need replacing: fire pits, outdoor furniture, hallway carpets. Buffet breakfast was nice but $32 a person after taxes and fees. Disappointing that the tavern was closed during our stay. The main restaurant has a great atmosphere but the Cantonese food was only fair, and not inexpensive. Not a bad stay but I’m not sure I’d return or recommend it.

Old world charm of the hotel and property. Pool area was small with not enough seating but had a great time. Maybe stay open until sundown when the property is not hosting a wedding. Goosefeather's has an amazing staff & food but a small bar area. Wish the property would open up the Cellar 49 restaurant or consider utilizing the space as another option for the hotel guest to go for a casual diner and cocktails.

The property is large and rather sprawling, so it took me a little bit to orient myself. It is also extraordinarily beautiful. The GOOSEFEATHER restaurant is incredible, and breakfast buffet was the best I have ever had in an American hotel!

My wife and I live about 20 minutes away from this hotel and booked this as staycation. The pool was the primary reason to book this trip. This property’s grounds are beautiful and has a lot of history. Goosefeather restaurant is amazing. Here are some of the things that caused the 3 star review: I think there is a lot of potential for this property if they fixed these items. 1. Breakfast was pretty bad. Eggs were dry. I understand that it’s buffet style. However, it could still be much better. I travel often and there are many other buffet style breakfasts that are decent. 2. There is no food on the property throughout the day. It’s only breakfast and dinner(goosefeather). We spent 3 days at the pool and had to order Uber eats. It’s a disruption to the pool day when you have to get out of the pool and walk to the front of the hotel for your food. To top it off, the rule is no outside food at the pool. Nobody paid attention to this rule. They could make so much money and attract more people if they offered food. 3. Something was wrong with my keycard reader and I could not get into my room without someone from the front desk letting me in each time. This started to happen on my last day so I didn’t ask them to give me a different room. This was annoying as you could imagine.

This was the perfect stay for our girls weekend. Beautiful property. Great bar & restaurant on site. Great outdoor sitting area. Free coffee in the morning and breakfast buffet available for a fee.
