Hotel was fine. The site said there was a pool but the pool has been closed for 2 years.

Property did not have pool as was described. Smelled bad. Too many people, couldnt get any breakfast. Elevators broken and had to go to top floor.

Spacious rooms with enough sitting accommodation, parking, and many breakfast options.

Good deal. Nice area. Short ride to the big park close by. No extra fee for parking.

I’ve stayed here multiple times and it’s excellent each time. Friendly staff. Very clean. Walking distance to the local Rio and Downtown Crown areas. Free parking and breakfast included. Can’t beat it!

I booked this hotel because it offered a pool and hot tub. But upon check-in, they told me they were closed. Everything else was great.

The property was clean but the breakfast was bad. The ‘warm’ option was bland scrambled egg with bacon everyday. Nothing fancy. The elevator was very slow and there was a long wait time every time we wanted to get in and out. We ended up using the stairs. I wouldn’t stay here next time.

Great location, clean hotel, good breakfast. The gym was also well equipped and maintained. Will definitely stay again for my next business trip.

Solid, clean, quiet hotel, good hot breakfast, friendly staff

No towels. No trash removal for four days. No toilet paper.

The tub was not clean, the kitchen sink was clogged, and the front desk would not give pillow for sofa bed but instead told me to use one of the 4 pillows that's meant for the king size bed. I received the linen for sofa bed and that's it, no pillow.

Property was great not kid friendly and rooms are only cleaned once every 3 days unless you request otherwise

One of the cleanest hotel/motels we have stayed in recently. Folk at front desk friendly and helpful. Walk to shopping and restaurants in area. Would recommend.

The only disappointment re this nice hotel was cleanliness- carpet and shower floor not clean. The rest, including staff, were very good.

When it’s a Springhill Suites suite. Just a half wall separates the couch from the bed. So if one person wants to watch TV and the other wants to sleep, someone is SOL. What is sweet? The bed. Maybe the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. It toally made up for the suite not being a suite. Everything else — bathroom, breakfast, amenities are about what you’d expect. Housekeeping, though, is by appointment. Ask when you check in.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Nice big room with a couch and little kitchenette. Located close to the Shady Grove metro.

Room was spacious and had an actual sofa not a office chair or just bed to sit on.

Convenient and fairly modern facility with good breakfast. Our AC/heater unit did not function properly so we had to turn off. Main issue is that rooms have double beds instead of queens. Sofa beds are not comfortable, no less here than anywhere else. So good for 2 people but not so much for more than 2.

The hotel was ok. Needs some updates. The lock on the door kept getting stuck, the toilet didn’t flush well, the noise from the freeway was very loud! The staff was very nice, but they operate on a skeleton crew. Breakfast was terrible.

Clean, spacious, and comfortable room! I particularly enjoyed having the small sink/fridge/microwave space, though I wish the fridge had a small freezer section. The TV was mounted on an arm that enabled me to watch from the couch, or the bed, which I thought was a nice touch. I didn’t care for the pillows on the bed though, they were not good for side sleeping.

The staff at the Springhill Suites in Gaithersburg made it a five star stay. We were contacted ahead of time about our plans for our stay and to see if there was anything the staff could do to make our stay more enjoyable. When we checked in, I was greeted by name and assigned a room on an upper floor, which I had requested. The room was large with a small kitchenette, a desk, couch, and a separate sleeping area. While the furniture was a bit old, it was quite comfortable.

Great location walking distance to RIO boardwalk/mall. Decent breakfast options. Sofa bed was not the best condition and sofa cushions can be steamed cleaned.

Front desk staff were amazing. Got me a quiet room and took care of me in the best possible way and i am so grateful for it.

Not welcomed when we approach the front desk to check in. After waiting the Asian lady was rude. Very rude. Did not tell us about breakfast or anything jus gave us a room key after about 20 minutes

When we first arrived the staff was very rude looking at us if we didn’t belong. Then the asked before looking at there computer “ARE YOU SURE YOU BOOK WITH OUR HOTEL, AND NOT SOME OTHER HOTEL”. We got to our room it was very clean, and nice except for a musty or moldy smell which I would find out later why. It was a handicap room with a shower bench because I’m handicap. Then when we woke in the middle of the night to use the restroom we found our carpet was soaked because our air conditioner was leaking. We called the front desk, and they moved us to a none handicap room which made our stay uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was terrible because they did not have enough seating, and people had to stand to eat. Th buffet itself had a very limited selection to eat. The eggs was dry, and tasteless, the oatmeal was lumpy, the bread toaster was broken and couldn’t toast the bread or bagels to brown them. The buffet staff was lazy because when items ran out they never even restocked them. In other words if you didn’t get there early you didn’t eat. This included not restocking the juice or coffee. I will NEVER return to this hotel. I’ve been treated better by days inn or motel 6.

Staff were fantastic! Great team.

The front desk staff is not friendly. I had to wait for 10 minutes with no one in sight. When a staff member finally showed up, she was defensive. Before I could say anything, she said I was not the only customer she had to attend to. I found that rude. In addition, the hotel is located right next to the expressway, so the noise of trucks passing by could be hard all night long. I will not stay in this hotel again

Alison at the front desk was amazing! Helpful and friendly. After nearly 9 hours of driving, her smiling face and helpfulness made the day much better! The room was A+. Will definitely stay there again.

For check in, night staff was great. Ay check out, day staff was not as helpful.

I will definitely be staying at this hotel in the future! The location was great (quick drive to the metro), the front desk was welcoming, helpful and extremely friendly. Came for the weekend to be able to be a quick meto ride into D.C. Im very pleased with my stay!

Overall OK, and nice location, very close to Rio Lakefront which was great. The room was clean and spacious. We needed a fridge for kids so it worked out. The cleaning schedule is hit or miss, they have a very strict schedule it seems. Also the front staff was always annoyed/rude. I had 3 face-to face with the front desk, all the time they seemed irritated with me. One of the times the lady was just on her phone the whole time, and was very short with me. Upon check out, I brought my key-cards and she looked at me like what? Just throw them in there, and literally said nothing else. The continental breakfast was underwhelming but hey, it was included/free so can't complain to much. My main gripe was with the front desk folks.

The room was spacious and well-designed. The area was very safe, modern, with lof of dining and shopping options nearby. Gathersburg is very convenient to stay for a visit to DC because you can take a train to DC every day (From ShadyGrove station). We visited DC Saturday and Sunday, so the parking at the station was free and the train ticket was very low.

The area around the hotel is very nice, There is a newish store/restaurant area within a mile.

Very close to a vibrant dining/shopping (Rio) area that was family friendly with a large playground, pond and paddle boats. Walked to dinner each evening. The hotel was quiet and friendly.

Breakfast staff did not routinely check on replenishing coffee, hot water and condiments table. Tray of eggs, biscuits, bread and bagels were all empty. Toaster oven was not working properly. Had to find kitchen staff to request them refill food tray and hot water thermo.

Rooms are very small. Breakfast is always the same with very few options. Only scrambled eggs and bacon every day. No pancakes.

Overall a very nice hotel for the price and location. Was overall disappointed by the breakfast bar. Only fruit available was bananas or whole apples. No waffles or pancakes. Eggs were very dried out. Would have liked a little more variety with fruit or veggies.

The staff was exceptional on all days except Sunday morning. Maybe they were tired and stressed, as it was very busy and crowded that morning. The breakfast was always too crowded. They could not keep up with the coffee, and had to tell someone at the front desk that BOTH pots were empty.
