Great, classy hotel. Awesome staff. Wonderful location - close to Fenway, MGM, and the T. Only drawback is the rooftop bar is an events only location, so don't choose this if that was what got you when looking at it in the first place. We thought it was an everyday part of the hotel but learned differently.

I arrived around midnight due to a delayed flight. The greeting wasn’t very welcoming, but I understood that it was late. The hallways were dark and didn’t smell very fresh. My room was okay, but the advertised “Kenmore view” was disappointing. It appeared to face an alley with loud pipes and nothing worth opening the blinds to see. I went downstairs to confirm I had the correct room, and the attendant insisted that I did. The location is convenient, and the refillable water bottles were a nice touch. The gym was extremely small—three people couldn’t comfortably use the free-weight area. Breakfast from the lobby was decent but took a long time. My 10yr son didn’t care for the room or atmosphere, so I wouldn’t consider it especially child-friendly. The best part of our stay was the service from S and another gentleman at the front desk. S’s charm and genuine desire to help stood out. The other gentleman kindly helped with my DoorDash questions and provided utensils when Cava left them out of my order. On checkout day, housekeeping knocked well before checkout time but didn’t clearly explain what was needed. I assumed she wanted to know when we were leaving, so I confirmed the checkout time and our departure plans. It was an unusual interaction.

Great location. When you are sleeping the room is dark. No unnecessary little lights or clocks. Bed super comfortable. They do need to work on sound proofing between rooms. Clearly hear people conversing in the next room. Two great restaurants on either side of the hotel. Easy walking distance to several points of interest.

This hotel exceeded every expectation! Just steps away from the subway, close to Fenway Park, the MGM Concert hall, and a number of unique restaurants, we were grateful we were able to leave our car at home, take the train into the city, and walk everywhere we needed to go! With a beautifully appointed, comfortable, quiet room, a friendly, courteous, helpful and professional staff second to none (special thank you to Chris!) we were amazed at how effortless everything was from start to finish. I would highly recommend the Hotel Commonwealth; we look forward to another visit in the future!
