Great outdoor area. Plenty of parking.

Great stay. Nice location. Parking was very convenient with quite reasonable price. We also enjoyed the pool table and pingpong table in the lobby.

Convenient to the Boston area and FREE PARKING! amazing. Staff was courteous and friendly. "Social hour" from 4:30-6:00pm Fri and Sat with wine selection. Extensive "continental" breakfast.

We have stayed at this hotel a half a dozen times. I like the new food and the beer / wine taps. Didn't like being put in the back building where you have to walk down a long hallway then down 10 stairs w/luggage. Then down another long hallway to get to room. We are 65 yrs old. No warning or asked if we needed help getting to room. I thought being a returning guest and our age would get us a better room as we had all the other times we stayed at this hotel

Ample free parking was great, especially in a city where things are so expensive. Room was ok, kinda pricey for how basic it was. Staff was nice, the complementary wine was a nice touch too.

The location is great and the staff very helpful and friendly. The Patio and craft beer place on location are lovely.

Hotel has everything you need in it. Patio area is beautiful to sit outside and enjoy a nice day. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly

Very unique. But we were not in the main building and not very convenient going up/down stairs with luggage because the elevator was out of service. Appreciated the location/free parking though

Interesting property that's full of art. Staff was friendly. One annoying thing; parking is no longer free. Expedia still has hotel under free parking. Wish hotel would be transparent and just disclose this fee on its website / listing.

The property is overpriced for the offerings they have. The fitness center is not on the property & that was not clearly communicated. My mini fridge worked more like a freezer and they were unable to fix it. They hold events frequently and on weekday evenings with no notice to other guests. The events were very loud & could be heard from hotel rooms. The bathroom ceiling is low & would be problematic for a taller guest. I'm 5'2 & could touch the ceiling. The continental breakfast is not worth paying a 'resort fee' for. Plus they added other fees onto what was listed in my reservation.

Came into my room and it was DIRTY sheets everywhere, previous stay had clothes and dirty cups everywhere, an unflushed toilet and some liquid substance in the sink. Despicably gross. Got the room changed, but this room was right by the elevator. That elevator must have been the LOUDEST elevator ever and constantly woke me up through the night. 2/5. If you have to stay here you’ll live. But do not recommend picking this place if you have options.

Rugs in the hallways and rooms smelled of cigarettes and are old. Elevator worked the first day and then it was out of service for the rest of our stay. The elevator had a terrible stench when I did ride it. I saw someone with a cat in their room. This was not in the hotel description and as someone whose family is highly allergic, if I would have known cats were allowed, I would not have stayed here.

Staff is very pleasant. Property was super clean.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel with my teenage son! The neighborhood is very safe and well developing. We were able to walk to Harvard, Trader Joe's, parks, and the waterfront. The hotel was spotless, had a pleasant fragrance, and cool artwork. We slept very soundly throughout the night. The white noise machine in the room and access to the New Balance gym were delightful surprises. Additionally, the free parking and breakfast were nice add ons. I will be coming back.

Super comfy beds, great air conditioning. Very clean towels and bathroom. Very convenient having a restaurant downstairs, and good food. Breakfast was also pretty good - decent variety of foods.

The property halls, elevator and the rooms look Dirty. It looks nothing like the pictures.

Studio Alliston is a tired hotel. The staff are a mixed bag and slow. The room was dingey and smelled funny. Id stay elsewhere next time.

You could definitely tell the mattress hadn't been turned in a long while. The bottom of the shower curtain was dusty and needed some attention. Everything else was clean and staff was excellent. I wished my younger son had been with us as he would have loved the free billiards and mini golf in the lobby.

I expected a completely different place from the online description. This hotel is older, dirtier, and noisy (woke up every morning from beeping and roaring engine sounds as my window backed into the Boston Public Works Department property. The ceilings are super low, theres no ventilation in the bathrooms, and the designs along the hallways reminded me of the distorted rooms architecture of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It feels like an average older college dorm. Not the vibe for my comfort level.

Should have been alerted prior to check on that the hotel had neither A/C not heat. First night was sweltering and uncomfortable. By the fourth night, it got into the low 40s and was freezing. Hotel offered space heaters, which made us feel less than safe in a building full of them. They also tripped the outlet numerous times and we had to wait for someone to come up and fix it. Would never have booked knowing this. Breakfast was a nightmare for someone with a gluten intolerance- six types of muffins, multiple other pastries, bagels, oatmeal, four wheat cereals… no protein or anything I could eat other than high sugar yogurt and a few pieces of bottom of the line fruit. New restaurant also had their grand opening while we were there so music was blasting into my room while I was trying to get work done. Booked a suite to have lounge area, couch, etc., but couldn’t use it because the furniture was filthy- couch covered in crusty spots. It was disgusting. Location was convenient, staff were friendly, and parking was ample, but overall one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.

Decent rate, welcoming and receptive staff. Room was fine, but we couldn't figure out how to turn the fan on as opposed to having it on auto so it kept clicking on all night and it was just really loud so we didn't sleep well. Seems like maybe it's an older hotel that's been renovated, but they haven't done the HV AC systems adequately

This hotel was about 15 minutes away from BC, which was where we were going to spend most of the weekend. Check in was pretty fast, the staff was friendly and we were even offered a glass of wine. The decor was kind of industrial/artsy. The hotel had a restaurant with quite a few automated craft beer taps, which looked interesting but we went out everyday so didn’t try it. We did try the french fríes, which were great. The hallways were VERY industrial looking and the rug looked like it needed some deep cleaning. Our room was in the South section, which was all the way in the back of the property, a bit far but not terrible. Our room was spacious and clean. The beds were great, as was the water pressure and it had good blackout shades. On the downside….We missed having a coffeemaker in our room. Our sink in particular also looked a bit cracked/worn. The view from our room was part parking lot, part what looked to be like a sand distributor…very close in fact so we kept the curtains shut most of the time for privacy. The hotel had parking, but the space markings were a bit faded, leading to confusion as to where to park, particularly in the back and side parking lots. Continental breakfast was included and the bagels were fresh & delicious. At check out we had to repeat that we were Silver VIP members so they could waive one day of the resort fee. We had told the staff at check in & were promised it would be removed before we checked out but they still hadn’

This was the perfect place for our quick trip to Boston for a concert at a nearby venue. They welcomed us with a glass of wine and charcuterie at check-in. The room was spotlessly clean, and we could watch the crew teams rowing on the river from our window. The bed was super comfy! The vibe of the hotel was eclectic and fun. Note: there is no coffemaker in the room, but they had excellent coffee available in the lobby. Great little boutique hotel.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Convenient to good restaurants and music venues. Beds comfortable and staff friendly. Only complaints: air conditioner was too loud and bathroom slider problematic, didn't close all the way and not really designed for personal privacy. Nevertheless, we'd come back. Breakfast was great.

I booked this property because of the cute patio space. Unfortunately there was a private event, that we were not informed about and we couldn't access the patio. After sharing my frustration with the front desk staff she offered to remove the property fee from my invoice. The property is dated, AC loud and the towel bar fell off the wall when hanging up a towel. Its not worth the money.

Noisy, there is a door in the room, and I could hear everything going ok on the other side of that door.

Rooms are big. Bed large and super comfy.

Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff at check in. Comfortable bed, fairly quiet HVAC. Great big tv. Nice selection of beers in lobby. Room was clean and everything worked. A big no, however, to the friggin barn door for the bathroom that hotels must find cute but is so functionally rediculous. With it's frosted glass and 2inch gap all the way around this bathroom door affords no privacy, is clunky, awkward to open because there's no handle, and very noisy as it swings to and fro banging into the wall. When closed there is absolutely no privacy giving direct vision into bathroom when the room door to the hallway is opened.

On the plus side, the staff were great. And there is a beer wall! However, you need to drink a lot of that beer to be drunk enough to sleep over that AC in the room. It is OLD and loud. And you can hear your neighbour's toilet flushes, alarm (which was at 2h50 am during our stay). It is an older hotel that was revamped to try and make it look cool. However, just like putting lipstick on a pig, when the core structure was not built to be soundproof, well, no amount of coolness will make it better. And as far as VIP treatment, it is the poorest VIP offering I received in the 10+ years of using Expedia. So, if you sleep through noise, this might be a good place for you. If was not for us.

This is a boutique hotel with great location - minutes away from Harvard Square by bus (bus stop on same block) or Blue Bikes, on the green banks of Charles River. Young friendly and competent staff (Klara was amazing!). Eco-friendly amenities, youthful vibe overall, rooms decorated with original modern artwork. Would definitely return!

From the moment I walked into the lobby, the customer service was disappointing. The concierge lacked basic knowledge and was unable to assist with any of my questions. The hotel’s location is not as appealing as advertised, and it offers no real amenities to justify the resort fees. The overall experience felt more like staying at a motel than a hotel. For the amount I paid, I could have stayed at a Hilton or a higher-end property. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place to others.

Check-in is quick and smooth. Staffs are friendly. We spent two nights. House service did not clean our room when we were back from trip and they never did.

We were attending Graduation Ceremony at MIT. We were given the best of hospitality from the moment we arrived at Studio Allston.

Great Boutique Hotel. Have been to Boston on business many times but never stayed in Alston neighborhood…took a chance on this last minute booking. Fun neighborhood with great dining options walkable. Room not fancy but more than adequate; comfortable, spacious, clean and nice linens. Reception desk was very, very nice and helpful. “Continental” breakfast was much more than typical continental and more than satiating with plenty of good options and good coffee. Parking included…in Boston!! I’ll stay here again.

Just wow! As a hotelier I was quite impressed with the Front Office team. I was welcomed by Jonathan who is nothing short of amazing. He told me about area, hotel offerings and recognized my status. If I ever return to Boston, I know where I’m staying! Great job to the entire team.

Ashley from the front desk went above and beyond. Told us what was happening at the hotel on Friday and Saturday. Also recommended places to eat that was close by. On Saturday morning I asked for 2 additional towels from a Housekeeper, not only did she provide the 2 extra towels but came in our room to give a quick refresher to our bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Variety of selection to choose from.

Nice location along the Charles River. Within walking distance to Harvard. Rooms were clean and comfortable with daily housekeeping. Breakfast was adequate.

The hotel locates in the middle of a construction site, not walking distance to any of the subway station. I booked the hotel to attend a conference at Harvard and I need to walk either 35 mins to Cambridge town or take a Uber which costs more than 20 back and forth. Not really ideal.

Studio Allston was a great value in the Boston area. Rooms were nice, spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location right on the Charles was really nice for running/walking. Good free breakfast (eggs, French toast, cereal, bagels, fruit, etc.). Bar was decent, especially if you are a beer drinker, although it closes at 9:00 every night, except Sat, when it's open until 10:00. Only major downside was that there was very little in the way of restaurants/bars/retail in the immediate vicinity. This is definitely not like staying in Boston proper, or Cambridge, where you might step out of the hotel and be in the "action." Having said that, there is the most amazing Korean shabu shabu place in the shopping center across the way. Really. I'm a chef from San Francisco and would say this place is a must go! Other than that, unless you get in the car, you're kinda stuck with the limited food the hotel offers via an app. Lastly, we had a room right next to elevators, which you can hear, quite loudly, all day and into the night. If you're sensitive to that, you may want to request that you don't get a room in that position.

Loved being able to walk to Harvard Business School, great restaurants and Trader Joe.

Affordable housing for a Boston Hotel There is nothing in the area if you want walk to it , Star Market is close a river walkway across the street.

Convenient location for Harvard sporting events. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms. Reasonable parking fee. Ideally Expedia would collect the facilities fee as part of the booking, rather than requiring the hotel to add charges upon check in.

Interesting place. Nice people there. Parking was great. Not very convenient to food or shops. Flexible to help us with our arrival timing and parking a little early.

The hotel itself is kinda retro. The breakfast was decent. The staff was friendly. There aren’t a lot of fast food options around. Next time I think I will stay in Harvard Square. The area wasn’t close to public transportation.

There is a grocery store, a Starbucks and a McDonald’s right in front of the hotel. Public transportation is accessible and easy. We took a bus and the subway to get to Downtown Boston. Parking is only $15 USD per night, which is good compared to other hotels. Negative: Breakfast was average. There were no sausages, bacon or pancakes. No microwave in the room. The ice machine on our floor was broken. Also, we found the hotel less nice and colorful than in the pictures.

The property was nice and comfortable, and the staff was amazing. Where i had a big disappointment was in the breakfast. It was horrible. Watery box eggs, waffles that were as hard as a hockey puck and rolled up ham!!! What !? And please don’t ask about the coffee :( This was an international sports event we were at so there were many different countries staying there and those athletes needed a solid breakfast. Most hotels I’ve stayed at in Europe, Asia and yes South America have amazing food. I felt so embarrassed that they had to experience this nasty food in the USA, and especially in Boston where there is so much diversity and good food.

Bed was uncomfortable. The breakfast had zero vegan options and didn’t even have any non-dairy milk or creamer for the coffee. This is ridiculous in this day and age.

Pretty basic but good value for the money. Breakfast not very good (but free)

Not in the best spot as you need to ride bus to get to a subway station. Hotel is very old, but renovated. Breakfast could use a lot of improvement as the eggs are cold, have a weird aftertaste. The tater tots were ok, but those are the only two options, so it could use with some more variety. Improvements to be made: Better breakfast with more options to hot food, shuttle to subway station (much needed), a coffee maker in the room would be nice, so will a fridge as we only had a freezer. The microwave in the lobby needs to be replaced as it barely works. Overall the service was really good with free bag storage, it’s just the amenities that should be worked on.

For the price of this place, it’s actually really nice! Everyone’s super friendly, the breakfast is great and the bar is even more fun! Highly recommend this place to a couple or some friends going out!

Not in love with the new food service. I liked the previous breakfast buffet. This new service took too much time to get and the free breakfast was too limited in choice. The food tasted like it was prepared meal just pulled from a case and microwaved. I usually don't have much time in the AM and that is what was nice about the breakfast buffet...grab and go, not sit and wait. Much better selection with the old Buffet. I'm sure this will save them money but....
