Hilton Garden Inn Chicago/Tinley Park

Definitely on the low end of Hilton properties when it comes to quality of the facility. The whole building feels dated. The spa was out of service which was unfortunate and while the pool itself was pretty clean, the pool area was not so nice. They were also having major problems with the key cards which was a pain. The staff were quite helpful which helped make the stay better. Maggie in particular was VERY helpful! If it wasn't for the nice staff, I would have left pretty disappointed with my stay.

Staff was absolutely excellent. So friendly and helpful. The pool was closed, which we did know ahead of time. The gym had no air conditioning, which made it almost insufferable to be in. Rooms were clean, however every noise from the hallway or surrounding rooms could be heard clear as day.

Gym was outfitted well but pool area had wet towels every where and seemed unmanned.

Front desk staff were very nice and helpful. Disappointed the hot tub was not in service but was told up front.

Ice machines don’t work on each floor, AC is out in lobby, water leak in roof at back door dropping into a bucket. Staff doesn’t quite know what they’re doing with check ins and taking payment. It takes forever to process anything, they are nice and courtesy but definitely check your itinerary for property costs as they may charge more unexpectedly and you need to address it asap. They also don’t give us breakfast vouchers as promised, our group all had to ask for them each day.

Only down side was the spa area was out of service.

Spacious suite. Appreciated the fridge and microwave. Not all rooms have them! It was clean and easy access to expressway. Solid weight room. Plenty of nice places to eat nearby.

Easy off street parking, excellent room spacious and easily negotiated with walker and the bathroom was as well. Very good handicap door accessibility and opening. Food and bar are excellent and the restaurant staff were friendly and kind.

My bathroom at home is in better condition that at this hotel. The pool was under construction and or maintenance but was not usable. So the cost should have been lower since a major amenity was not accessible. Definitely not worth the cost.

Our room smelled bad. The carpet smelled of pee and there was mildew growing in our shower.

The room was very dirty. Dead bugs in the bathroom. To go food containers with old food under the bed. Just unpleasant in general.

There was mold on the shower wall and soap dish, the cabinet for the refrigerator would not close all the way, the light in the bathroom had a horrible buzz, the bathroom door would not close, when anyone above us showered or flushed it sounded like a waterfall in the wall, and the walls and ceiling were so thin we could hear every step above us and every conversation in the hall. Needless to say, we will not be staying there ever again.

Sharon who checked us was the nicest experience I’ve had checking into a Hilton property. Promote her- However the rooms had stains on walls and the shower head was covered in mold. I have pictures if you want pictures I can provide

The staff was great -friendly, efficient, helpful. The public spaces were very clean. Our room however smelled very musty, the lighting was poor (very dark), the bathroom floor was sticky and one of the remotes was disgusting.

Lobby area is nicely designed. However, it was damp and musty. I had to request a different room due to mold around the tub. The cabinet door to the fridge was broken and the room air was very damp.

Not clean in the room. Tissue with blood on it on floor by bed. Hair in sink and tub. Scum in tub. Please use some other cleaner. May have been different in other rooms. Did not say anything to front desk cause I did not want to deal with them again. The breakfast was not inclued. They want to charge 15 dollars for the same breakfat that is free in other lless expensive hotels.

Didn’t enjoy this. They tried charging me for a new room when I already had a reservation and paid $390 dollars. Room was dirty, shower was filthy, then when I went to go check out there was a confusion of where our room was supposed to be. I checked my bank account after we left and they charged me for 2 incidental fees when it should have been one charge or $30 it was 2 $30 charges.

Easy check-in even though they had three weddings booked. Nice room. Clean. Large. Spacious.

Only complaint was the walls were a little thin. It was very clean and the staff was amazing.

A/C was weak, room was hot. Despite being told that we could walk to Credit One amphitheater, that was very, very untrue! It’s a 40 minute Uber to go and the venue was nearly impossible to meet up with ride drivers…lots of gouging to try to get back to hotel. Minimal and basic room with ancient air conditioning.

The floor in our room was uneven and had soft spots hidden under the carpet

Bed was extremely uncomfortable and lumpy

The staff was friendly but the place is definitely outdated. The tv doesn’t even have a guid and it’s not a smart tv.

The king suite was nice and spacious.

The property is a bit dated but well kept and clean. The customer service was beyond outstanding and a reason we would stay here again if ever in the area. Huge shout out to Jo and Maggie who were exceptional.

Rooms were not serviced when I walked in for the first time. Didn’t have towels, no soap, no toiletries. This led me to believe no one cleaned the room. The front desk was new and couldn’t help. The manager was too busy staying in the office to help the new front desk person.

This is the third time we have stayed with this property. It seems to be heading in a different direction than when we first stayed. The staff is nice but seems to move at their own pace. The bar closed early and all the staff felt like it was our pleasure they were helping us. Even to a point of pushing gratitude cards at us and insisting we fill them out. There was always someone standing at the front desk and it took forever to get help. When we did get help, it was very nice but staff seems over worked. Property was clean.

The property and staff were absolutely fantastic and helped me deal with Expedia… Expedia on the other hand was awful. I got to the hotel at 7pm to check in and Expedia was supposed to have a Virtual Credit Card already loaded for the property. They did not do that and I had to go through their AI help service for 10-15 minutes until I could finally chat with a real person. That real person then contacted the hotel, then called me and put me on hold for 15 minutes, then called the hotel again and finally got it figured out. The issue was that the bill should’ve been $94.84 and Expedia’s virtual credit card amount was for $94.86 so it was not working. They couldn’t accept it because they would’ve then lost out on $0.02!!! The whole ordeal took 48 minutes from when I should’ve been able to check in, to when I was finally able to check in. It was due to no fault of the hotel and their staff was very helpful in getting it resolved. Expedia’s customer service took way too long to resolve the issue, and it was made even worse by discovering it was due to 2-cents…

Maggie and Brandon at the front desk are so welcoming, respectful and made the experience wonderful. Both of them will be the reason for us booking and staying at that property again! Tony the bartender was also very enjoyable and very enthusiastic!

Just average, decent.Staff grade was because I called for towels and never got them.

Joe at the front desk was the best that I have ever encountered. He was knowledgeable, efficient and super friendly. He got ice for my wife's travel cup. Great guy.

Didn't have a room to accommodate me at all. Was extremely rude.

It was an excellent stay. The only issue was waiting in the lobby 10-15 minutes before someone came to check me in. Other than that, it was a great stay!

The desk guy, Hugh, was great. Friendly and professional, made us feel welcome after a long day of driving.

Although close to the highway which was a convenient location for us, right behind the hotel is a field and then a very nice residential area. The hotel interior is updated and very sleek.

Extended family members were staying at the hotel for a family weekend wedding. The staff members allowed us to meet in the unused public spaces. The nearby area is under construction, but the hotel itself is in fine. Several nearby restaurants, but most need a car for travel. For those who are runners or walkers, there is a nearby large Forest Preserve green space with paved paths.

Great stay with great convenience to dinner options.

The property was very clean. Initial check in was quick and pleasant. Room fit our needs very pleasant. When we went to get breakfast we were disappointed. We had 2 vouchers (our room purchase came with them) There was a “continental breakfast” buffet as well as a breakfast menu available. There was one server on the floor. She was super busy (not her fault). The set up was a bit confusing. I grabbed a menu to see what we were working with. The buffet had cold items like fruit, cereal, and muffins. The menu had hot breakfast available. Long story short, this was gonna take some time. I understand they don’t have control over how busy they are. We ended up leaving and checking out before ordering. -my son had an appoint with his specialist. We had about an hour to work with. We needed another option. He is on a high fat, high protein diet. Cold buffet wasn’t gonna cut it- We checked out. I asked the front desk if we could get the breakfast refunded. She said that she needed to ask her manager. I left our room information and headed out. I called to see if the refund had occurred. The manager I spoke to informed me she couldn’t give us the refund. One reason was that we purchased our room from a third party (Expedia). I told her I understood, but wish that there had been better clarification. She was very dismissive. I’m aggravated at yer lack of concern for my disappointment

Hallways were very cold. Breakfast was very disappointing (way overpriced for sad quality/offering). Rooms were very meh. Location was weirdly remotely placed. Basically, the hotel was what I would expect at $99/night, not $300 or the ridiculous price I paid for this one. And I travel a LOT all over the country and the world - business and personal. This hotel needs help or a drop in price. Not very impressive.
