Excellent location, offers really good and freshly made breakfast. Fan didn’t work though and the parking is not in the premises, one need to walk up through an inclined road and then on a pretty straight road for 2/3 mins to reach the hotel from a common parking lot!

This property is 1960's building. It is right next to a gondola lift. There is a parking garage in the basement if you want to pay $15/night to park in there. Otherwise you have to park pretty far away across the street. The room had a tiny window AC unit which never could cool the room enough. So if you are used to sleeping in a cool room in the summer then its not for you. The bathroom is tiny with the sink outside of the bathroom. The free breakfast was EXCELLENT every morning. The staff was friendly and buses to aspen were close to hotel. You have to take two to get to aspen. Parking in aspen is about $6.00/hour. So to summerize the hotel was old, with small rooms, tiny bathrooms, and undercooled. Aspen is very expensive so i chose this property on price alone.

Surprisingly good find. Yes it’s older but they take care of the grounds very well. Great breakfast ! Rates reflect the age. Very convenient to the mall and the village gondola. Good outdoor hot tub. They offer a soup lunch during ski season with your room!

This property was great overall, however the first room we had had mold in caulking around the tub and in the soap dish. The second had an AC we asked to have removed. The installation was not fully preventing cool air in as there was a lap gap that was not sealed. Overall, the bathrooms are very outdated and do not match the decor upgrade throughout the hotel.

Property is old in great need of updating and repair. Bathroom is very small, so much so my arm was against the wall when sitting on the toilet. Area outside our first floor room was terrible with buried cables exposed above ground. The one elevator at the entrance was extremely small. Pool and hot tub appeared to have dirty water so we never used them. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Staff courteous, room clean and shower was hot. We had out dog with us and had a room on the first floor that had a patio door to dog outdoor area. Decor is dated overall but hotel is clean which is what is important to me. Also had garage to park in for extra fee which was a nice option. Free breakfast.

This is the worse hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel is old, dirty, Their room door was broken, rusted. dirty doors, dirty linens, floor carpet was very stinky, their beds are extremely old. The toilet was old and dirty. I could not even stayed there for even 10 minutes due to the conditions of the room, I left the hotel even though I had already prepaid for the room. staff said he can’t refund the money. I was just there for 10 minutes and the ac didn’t even work. I didn’t even seat in the bed or the old stinky red sofa.

This was not what was advertised by your online description and photos! It was old, run down and smelled like mold! I only stayed for 45min. and then decided to check out! I had insurance through you guys and hope to get some type of refund!

Air conditioning wall unit stopped and did not work, we were very hot at night. Hallways, gym area, elevators, and garage were very creepy and dirty. We were scared. We also couldn’t get any soda or bottled water because the machines only take cash. Please consider people’s safety and security, and needing to feel comfortable. The room is fine, but couldn’t use the coffee machine because cups were not wrapped in plastic for safety. Please do not charge people $500 plus. This is a $150 hotel. The view is pretty, but will not stay here again. Best wishes.

The parking is difficult as they only have a tiny garage that supports like 8 vehicles. So you have to park in the free lots way down the street making it a hassle to check in, check out and leave. The hotel itself is meh for the price. The common corridors are outdated. The hotel room was large but outdated bathroom, no windows that opened and A/C that did not work. The beds were actually super comfortable though which was a surprise.

The property is showing it's age, but they are doing a great job of maintaining the public spaces. The room had great beds (although a little squeaky). The window mounted A/C was noisy and not quite enough to cool the room, but we were able to open the balcony door for some additional air. The rooms all have brick walls between units and concrete ceilings. The rooms are really quiet and isolated from each other. I think security was the biggest concern: Parking is off-site public parking lots, with no lighting and just random City police patrols. The doors are not using any electronic locks, just standard keys. We did have an issue with the in-room safe. After a couple attempts to repair the safe, the maintenance guy took the 30# safe out of the room and brought us a new one... Yes - he just grabbed it and walked out of the room. It was just sitting on the fridge, not attached at all, so anyone could just grab it and walk away. I did learn about these typical hotel safes - anyone with the plug-in controller can open the safe in about 3 seconds, so you have to trust the maintenance personnel and anyone else who has access to this unit. At this property, the controller is kept under the front desk and accessible to anyone who reaches over the counter.

Mountain Chalet is a conveniently located property - slope side, and is staffed by friendly, accommodating people. The breakfasts are very nice, and lunch is served, too, although we did not take advantage of that. The rooms are getting old and in need of some refurbishing. Unfortunately, we were not able to regulate the heat in our room (the thermostat did not control the heat), and had to sleep with the windows open. There is nothing special about this property (in terms of amenities, features or room comfort), but it is nice to be ON the slope in the morning; however, if you plan to ski all four of Aspen's mountains, that isn't a real advantage, and you would be best to spend less money for lodging off-slope.

Great location and friendly staff. The room was gross though. Tiles had been painted over in the bathroom and were chipping and flaking everyday. Ceiling fan had electrical wires hanging from the fixture. Baseboards were missing which exposed epoxy covered bricks. Good value, but not well taken care of it maintained.

Had a one night stay with the family on our way back to San Diego. Staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful. No complaints there. The room however…a different story. Very old and outdated! The bathroom and shower were tiny! No hand holds or grip tape in the shower. The bath towels were more like hand towels. The room was about 80+ degrees as well. When we turned on the AC, it was so loud we could barely sleep. Tried to tun on the ceiling fan to circulate some air and it didn’t work. They did have complementary coffee and tea, but no ice machine to found. At least not on our floor. They do offer a complementary breakfast starting at 0730. We left before then so I can not tell you what they serve. Parking was about a quarter mile away from the actual building up a pretty steep hill, so be prepared for that walk back at about 9500 feet. There was a loading area for dropping off passengers and luggage though. The place itself was not overly expensive or overpriced for a place so close to Aspen…but you definitely get what you pay for.

In the morning I got up to no internet. front desk told me that she will reset the modem. Next half hour I waited for the internet, called 4 times and finally i asked to speak to a manager. i was told that none was available. For the internet I was told by the front desk that they can only reset the modem and if there was no internet she could not do any thing about it. Now a days it is very important to have internet.

I'd like to that.It was up in snowmass and very beautiful. I didn't like that. The person at the front desk didn't call me or text me with a code for the lockbox. So when I arrived, there was no getting keys for my room that I had already got charged for.

Great hotel with a big caveat (see below). right next to the mall, town shuttle and gondola shuttle. Great amenities too, free included made to order breakfast was awesome. Best I have ever had. Cafeteria staff was incredibly courteous and helpful. They should be rewarded for their exemplary service. Offsite free parking very close. Free concert almost in front of the hotel. We had a fantastic stay. Now the big downside was the front desk staff who put me off. There was a young gentleman who was very helpful and courteous but the rest kinda made me feel unwelcome. I asked if a Mountain View room was available and they flatly said hotel is fully booked, which was a lie. There were plenty of rooms available which I verified that day. Also I asked repeatedly for extra 1 hour for checkout and they repeatedly said no problem, just ask again the day of checkout. And at the day of checkout they started to decline my request. Only when I mentioned they agreed before multiple times that they very reluctantly agreed. They knew I had made this request and they themselves had agreed but still wanted to decline on checkout day. Their sole function is to accommodate guests and they just weren’t in the mood to do that at all for me. I probably won’t stay here again mainly due to their unwelcoming attitude.

The manager of this property is the RUDEST man I’ve ever talked to! I was in an accident going up to my reservation due to weather, called and Expedia called and asked for my money credited as this was no fault of my own. He called me lair and said it was my problem and I should be more responsible to plan for these things! What even is that?! Don’t recommend this place to anyone! It’s obviously not family friendly or run by honest good people. 0/10 stars if I could give 0 stars

We only had a couple of days to spend in Aspen but loved spending them at the Snowmass Mountain Chalet!! Everybody was kind and helpful and we loved the overall ambiance. In addition, the convenience of the location is unmatched! Would definitely come back!!

The evening staff were both very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was amazing each day and I enjoyed it much more than a buffet style breakfast. Don’t let this disappear. It is a nice change of pace from the usual breakfast at other places. I would definitely stay again.

Here’s the straight skinny on this place. It’s vintage - late 60’s early 70’s. Almost hipster cool, but actually better. It’s a uthentic. It is unfair to say this place is tired, it’s just old. But it’s clean. Everything works. And it has everything you need for a perfectly enjoyable stay. We were more than pleasantly surprised and even impressed. They offer free breakfast and a daily soup lunch. The food itself is nothing great, but it’s free/included. There is no better more convenient location in Snowmass Village. The value is there, and we will happily return.

Location is great. Beds, showers, the gym, etc. are all pretty dated. Very dated and old. My son asked if the hotel was from the 1900’s. However, the staff is amazing. We really love them. We missed the old breakfast and lunch where you could just grab what you want quickly and go. They started serving the food, so you get tiny portions and it adds about 15 minutes onto your meal when you’re just trying to hurry and get back to the slopes. Also, a lot of the meals are not kid friendly which stinks compared to the meals the last few years. The ladies are very kind in the lunchroom, but we miss the kid friendly lunch choices. Also, once you book a room it is non refundable.

I didn't like that we book in Expedia the room with breakfast availabe and in the hotel they said that they don't have breakfast available because is off season, but even if you book right now still saying that the property has breakfast included. The worst was that the manager did nothing to fix the problem without considering a foreign family with two kids in a town with few and unknown options. Very angry with Expedia and with the manager of mountain Chalet Snowmass.

They staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean My only complaint would be they advertise made to order breskfast and it is not. They had pre made scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles and they took your order at the table you could have all three items or chose from the three what you wanted. It was not made to order. I did appreciate the fresh squeezed OJ.

It has an excellent location for those who ski and those who don't too, everything is less than a 5-minute walk away. It is a hotel that maintains its originality and is good but lacks maintenance in the bathrooms.

Surprisingly good find. Yes it’s older but they take care of the grounds very well. Great breakfast ! Rates reflect the age. Very convenient to the mall and the village gondola. Good outdoor hot tub. They offer a soup lunch during ski season with your room!

The AC went out the night before we left, and it was very hot in the room. When I went to checkout I told the front desk about the issue, and the maintenance guy, who was also at the front desk, laughed at me and told me it was an easy fix to open up the unit and reset the unit after emptying out the water tray. I didn't know it was my job to be my own maintenance person when I used this hotel? Other than that, everything else went smoothly, nice location and free parking was a plus!
