Located in Hillsville, this cottage is in a rural area and in the mountains. Laurel Hill Birthplace Of J.E.B. Stuart and Draper Mercantile are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Blue Ridge Country Club and Skyland Lakes Golf Club. Wonderful cottage home has been meticulously updated. Tasteful decor with quality appliances. Everything was simple, crisp and clean. Lovely farmland at the back and beautiful green rolling hills against a backdrop of trees and mountains. Very safe area with really nice locals. A refreshingly slower pace, yet everything you need is close by. Cannot think of anything more I could have wanted for my short get-away.

This home was a gem for our roomie reunion! The owners thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. We loved sitting on the front porch swings and also relaxing on the covered back porch overlooking the field. The kitchen was well equipped with all we needed, the beds were comfy, the bathrooms were nicely appointed and everything was very clean and inviting. While there, drove in to Draper for the afternoon. We brought a picnic lunch and ate it at the table under a large shade tree, enjoyed perusing the shops and walking on the trail. For dinner, we ate at Pizza Perfect- so yummy and friendly staff. All together a perfect spot for our weekend get together!

My parents and I had a great stay at Sunrise Retreat. The house is very beautiful and has everything you need for a getaway. Just bring your clothes, toiletries and some food if you want to cook and you will be good to go. Great views from the property too. We even had some surprise snow towards the end of our vacation. We enjoyed exploring Hillsville and the surrounding areas and everyone we met was very nice. We also enjoyed meeting and talking to the owners. We hope to be able to make it back to stay at this property soon.

Our family of 4 had a nice stay at this country house with modern touches. The host was extremely responsive and I received check-in info days before which was a stress reliever. We saw groundhogs and so many deer. It was sweet slowing down and being in nature. The house had everything we needed: Keurig and coffee, hairdryer, linens, towels etc.

Very nice house! Clean, well maintained, and a very quite, peaceful location. Nice front porch with 2 swinging chairs and a very nice comfortable back porch as well. This is honestly where we spent most of our time. The kids loved the cows!

The house was perfect for our family. We appreciated the decor and thoughtfulness. Our kids loved to watch the cows from the back deck, and we enjoyed sitting out there watching the fireflies. The kids also loved the play nook upstairs. Communication was great, and check out was simple and straightforward. We will stay again if we are in the area.

The back porch was so relaxing after a long travel day. We so enjoyed our conversation with the owner Scott on our check out day. We wished we could have stayed longer. We loved the cows and horses out back and we had beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We were very close to downtown Hillsville and yet we felt like we were “out in the country”. We also got to meet the owners, Ed and Susan Naff and they were delightful to talk to. We plan to make our “ladies getaway” an annual trip and we hope to stay at this delightful cottage again.

We absolutely loved the “Sunrise Retreat”. The photos and descriptions failed to to justice to how wonderful the home is. Quaint, charming, peaceful escape. It felt like a rustic country spa getaway. Clean and well appointed with all conveniences. I savored my time on the back porch watching the sunrise over the mountains. Breathtaking and peaceful. Would stay here again and again.

We have stayed here twice this year and I don’t know why anyone would stay in a hotel or anywhere else if this place is available. It is quiet, recently remodeled, and has everything you need for your family. The owners are wonderful and easy to work with. This place is now our go-to place when we head south for trips.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and exactly as described. The host were very responsive, even suggesting places of interest. If you enjoy antiquing, the house is centrally located with lots of antiques stores within an hour and half drive in all directions.

We loved the cows and horses out back and we had beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We were very close to downtown Hillsville and yet we felt like we were “out in the country”. We also got to meet the owners, Ed and Susan Naff and they were delightful to talk to. We plan to make our “ladies getaway” an annual trip and we hope to stay at this delightful cottage again.

Wonderful cottage home has been meticulously updated. Tasteful decor with quality appliances. Everything was simple, crisp and clean. Lovely farmland at the back and beautiful green rolling hills against a backdrop of trees and mountains. Very safe area with really nice locals. A refreshingly slower pace, yet everything you need is close by. Cannot think of anything more I could have wanted for my short get-away.

This home was a gem for our roomie reunion! The owners thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. We loved sitting on the front porch swings and also relaxing on the covered back porch overlooking the field. The kitchen was well equipped with all we needed, the beds were comfy, the bathrooms were nicely appointed and everything was very clean and inviting. While there, drove in to Draper for the afternoon. We brought a picnic lunch and ate it at the table under a large shade tree, enjoyed perusing the shops and walking on the trail. For dinner, we ate at Pizza Perfect- so yummy and friendly staff. All together a perfect spot for our weekend get together!

My parents and I had a great stay at Sunrise Retreat. The house is very beautiful and has everything you need for a getaway. Just bring your clothes, toiletries and some food if you want to cook and you will be good to go. Great views from the property too. We even had some surprise snow towards the end of our vacation. We enjoyed exploring Hillsville and the surrounding areas and everyone we met was very nice. We also enjoyed meeting and talking to the owners. We hope to be able to make it back to stay at this property soon.

Our family of 4 had a nice stay at this country house with modern touches. The host was extremely responsive and I received check-in info days before which was a stress reliever. We saw groundhogs and so many deer. It was sweet slowing down and being in nature. The house had everything we needed: Keurig and coffee, hairdryer, linens, towels etc.

Traveling across the country and after a stop in Mt Airy we usually stay in a hotel there. This house was sooooo much better and worth the extra few minutes drive. The house looks like it’s been completely renovated, on a quiet street of small farms, we had cows and all kinds of birds in the fields behind the house. We took a long walk around the area, a oerfect quiet area to stretch out after a long drive. Minutes from a small town with lots of good dinner choices. Very comfortable family room seating is so often hard to find in rentals, this place had the best yet. We will absolutely stay here again if it’s available. Note the damage deposit is high in comparison to other rentals, but not to worry ours was returned in full.

We absolutely loved the “Sunrise Retreat”. The photos and descriptions failed to to justice to how wonderful the home is. Quaint, charming, peaceful escape. It felt like a rustic country spa getaway. Clean and well appointed with all conveniences. I savored my time on the back porch watching the sunrise over the mountains. Breathtaking and peaceful. Would stay here again and again.
