The hotel was very nice and the was so so comfortable. However, the pool was not working, the water pressure was low because the hotel was fully booked and only one elevator was working. So, when we were all checking out, it was a very long process to get downstairs with all of our luggage. Although, I must say that the staff that morning held it down with so professionalism, I did not see anyone upset with them. Mainly, because it was not their fault. They just happened to be the associates that were working that morning.

The customer service. Staff bar was great Wasn’t a fan of the 2 fire alarms having the exit outside but I get safety reasons. Also the elevators not working properly and having to wait 8-10 min to get up and down stairs was ridiculous

The view from our room was lovely. The place was very clean and the staff so kind and friendly. Just didn’t get a higher rating cause only 1 elevator was working, the pool was not open, and our window leaked cause of a giant storm one night. Also, the parking garage is not attached. So, I wish I had known that. But for the price and cleanliness I would stay again.

The walk away from the garage to the property felt unsafe. Outdated elevator, there is one microwave in the lobby but none in the rooms. Ac wasn't working in the first room but it was a quick switch to another. Partial Waterview, it wasn't what was expected and the pool was closed.

Vent in the shower stall was extremely dirty and dusty. Water leaked through the floor to ceiling windows during the rain. Panels above the bathroom sink looked like they could cave in. Only 1 elevator working during stay. Area between bench and bed entrance very narrow. Parking deck in disrepair and very dirty including elevator.

On our first night the toilet was stopped up, there was water leaking from behind the bathroom mirror, and a very apparent water leak causing the paint to weep down another wall. All three elevators broke down on a Saturday. We had to trek up and down 6 floors.

Room was not clean when I went into room. Trash and towels and bed was not made. Lady at the front said the breakfast was at a certain time and I paid for it and then when I went down they said there’s an event so it’s closed. So I paid for nothing. The air conditioner made a clicking noise all night so I didn’t get good sleep at all.

We did not enjoy our room at all. The AC unit was extremely, extremely loud to the point of waking us up out of our sleep each time it started up. Our last night we slept at a higher than comfortable temperature to keep the unit from kicking up so often so we wouldn’t wake up several times during the night. The mattress cover had large, dark stains and so did the lounge chair. The view, while very nice, was distracted by the massive amount of bird poop on the window. The water pressure in the shower was very low and almost useless. The shower floor was disgusting with visible dirt caked and stained into the shower floor. We had to put a towel down so to not touch the floor with our bare feet. Paint was chipping off all the walls, including in the elevator and there was a large drip stain on the door to adjoining room. The shower door did not properly close. The gap between the entry door and the floor was so wide it let the light from the hallway into the room so at night the room was never completely dark unless we laid a towel on the floor. All in all we felt very uncomfortable in our room and will not stay again until proper maintenance and upkeep are done and will not recommend the hotel to anyone either.

First I want to start with the positives…the staff was super friends and helpful. The beds/pillows were extremely comfortable and once I fell asleep…I slept good. Ok, the bad. I don’t know how are the rooms are but I reserved two rooms and both were the same. They are falling apart. The ceiling in the bathrooms are falling down, the showers appeared clean visually but stunk like mildew, and just the details of the places aren’t being taken care of. I notice things like sloppy paint jobs over half an outlet cover and busted tiles in the foyer area. Basically, it’s just not being taken care of. My kids and I were excited to utilize the pool, however, two out of the three evenings (4-10pm) they were privately booked! Our last night there, when the party was leaving, the group decided to walk out the front where the fire truck was and was screaming and hollering and twerking all over the fire truck (I’m not making this up). My son went to his car out in the parking deck and was approached by two men repeatedly asking if they could tint his windows? This place and the area is not family friendly. Found out once down there that they are shutting all beaches down at 8pm due to crime. Just something to keep in mind.

While the location was convenient for me, the property itself was average at best. The staff at the Desk tried their best, but overall not my greatest experience with a hotel. Everything seemed dirty, kind of used and abused. The parking garage elevators smelled like urine. My hotel room was only serviced two times out of the five nights I was there. Each time it wasn’t, I returned to find a do not disturb tag conveniently hanging on the handle that I know I did not leave. And my hotel room overall while it had an amazing view it wasn’t designed thoughtfully. The shower was difficult to use as it was piped in incorrectly. The floor of the shower was dirty and dingy and could use a good scrubbing with some bleach.There was no counter space for a lady to do what she needed to do for make up or hair. The walls were sloppy dinged often marked with scuffs scratches cracks. I don’t think it was a good value for the price. Definitely not up to the standard I expect from a Hilton hotel.

Our stay at the Landing was very pleasant. I only experienced a couple of maintenance issues I believe can be easily resolved: The air conditioning was very cool which was definitely appreciated, however, it is very loud in the room. The water pressure was low in the shower and the shower knob came off while trying to adjust the water temperature.

The view of the harbor is perfect. Our bathroom door was a barn door with three inch gap on both sides for no privacy. That sucked. Perhaps we got the ADA room but if I went back I would definitely ask for a different room unless they are all like that. Housekeeping was off for Thanksgiving (I support that) but they didn’t tell us that and could have at least given us some extra towels or Toliet paper the day before. Other than that, highlight was the view. It’s an amazing view.

We had room with double beds on the 5th floor facing the BTW Bridge, which was fine. Staff was very friendly. The only chair in the room was an interesting-looking round "chair and a half" that had a stained seat cushion. The shower was weird in that once it got hot, you couldn't lower the temperature. So once it got hot, you had to dance your way in and out of the water so as not to get burned. Very odd and borderline dangerous....

Did not get a King room as per my Expedia reservation, was told they were "sold out" despite confirmed reservation. Both beds on the Double Queen were horrible, the HVAC system was extremely noisy, the entry doo did not have a bottom sweep so all of the hallways noise came into the room & the bathroom door was broken. We will not be staying at the Landing again when we visit our daughter in NN.

I’ve stayed her several times this year. This visit will be my last. The shower nozzle was broken and we had to be moved to another room very late. The toilet didn’t flush properly. It’s extremely noisy! The front desk staff isn’t always the friendliest.

This is my second time staying at The Landing. I always have such a great stay and will be returning for the third time in May for my daughter's graduation. The staff is amazing. Ant and LaMonica at the front desk went above and beyond. They, along with the rest of the staff, greet you will smiles and are so helpful. They along are the main reason we like staying here. The rooms are clean, quiet and they also have a bar/lounge. Plus, The Landing is conveniently located near Hampton University. It is also located by the marina and provides a beautiful view. The NASA Langley Air & Space Museum is also walking distance along with a number of small businesses. I highly recommend staying here.

I was welcomed at late check-in with a smile and prompt service, after a long travel day. Front desk staff, Natasha was courteous, pleasant, and very helpful to me and my family. The manger and front desk were so amazing and helpful. I checked in with my toddler and needed help unloading. The manager personally helped unload our items and brought it up to our room with us. He also brought our food up to our room from the restaurant at the hotel. They even gave my son cookies! We had such a great weekend thanks to staff. Not to mention the beautiful rooms and water front views.

From om Lamonica at the front desk who always greeted us, to Miss Michelle who kept our room spotless, and Anthony in engineering who took time to give us a history of the hotel. Soon as my husband and I got there to check in from our 2 1/2 hour drive , they told me at the front desk that my room had been cancelled because I used a 3rd party booking. I have never had this issue anywhere else. I showed my reservation and it was cheaper than what they had me pay even though he stated it was cheaper they still charge me a price that was higher and no one knows why my reservation was canceled.

Positive: •We had a beautiful view of the marina with a nice walking trail for exercise. •Many restaurants located within walking distance. •Buckroe beach is a short drive from the hotel. Negative: • I always bring my own cleaning products & this time I was thankful that I did. Check-in was at 4p so to me the room should have been spotless. The bathroom was gross with stuff left in the sink and on the wall. I didn’t complain because I would rather clean it myself at that point. •The parking garage is awful. If you drive a large vehicle, good luck getting in there without tearing something up because the clearance is 6’ 7”. Also, the parking lot is not for guest only so there was a lot of times where I felt very unsafe with my small children as intoxicated guest were leaving the hotel events and cussing/hitting on females that were walking alone in the garage. How about an EXTRA $25 fee to park in there that nobody told us about? •This hotel is NOT children friendly unless you run a tight schedule. My kids never got to use the pool because it was cold at 10a and there were adult only events from 2p-10p that served alcohol at the pool so my kids couldn’t be there. •The elevator congestion is AWFUL because it is utilized by guest and non-guest. We were told to wait by people that weren’t even guest there and there was a lot of loitering outside by underage males who looked like they were probably up to no good. I’m sure they make money, but this is not a place to relax.

The hotel itself is very comfortable, has a pool, fitness room, bar and a restaurant. Its right on the water along the James River with the NASA attraction right next door. Down town Hampton is walking distance with plenty of dining options and shopping. The staff is very friendly and professional. The real bonus is a brewery right outside the front door.

Overall we had a nice stay and thought it was a nice room with a great view. Largely the service was great. We had an incident where the fire alarm went off at about 2am and no one could provide much of an explanation beyond that it was a "false alarm." It wasn't a big deal, these things happen, but it was still a little disruptive. The biggest problem was the overpriced breakfast buffet. Other than that, we had an enjoyable stay. Very convenient location for the Blackbeard Festival!

the gentleman that checked me in (Ant) was lovely and super helpful. the entrance was not really easy to find. the room was fine. Ant did hook me up with a waterview. The breakfast was terrible. Really oily omelet. The waiter was NOT friendly at all. He hardly acknowledged me and was just generally rude. Overall, the hotel was NOT what it was presented to be online. The location sucked too. I paid way too much.

The hotel is older but isn’t terrible. I read some really bad reviews so I was expecting a lot worse. The room was good. It had a beautiful view of the water. The only thing that stood out was a dirty chair. If I were writing my review on the staff and room alone, I’d say it was good, nothing fancy. The problem was that at 1:30am the people in the room next to me were blasting music, screaming, saying inappropriate things and just being obnoxious. This continued until 4:30am and I’m pretty sure other guests knocked on their door and complained but the people didn’t care and because of this I will definitely not go back there.
