My dislikes: only offers valet parking for $35/day (should be included), smallish bathroom (dressing area was large), if you turn light on in bathroom when someone is sleeping, it lights up the entire room because of frosted glass on the shower, the tile grout on the floor was in need of a cleaning (pet peeve of mine), and the price of the room was inflated to $500/night, I’m assuming it was because of the Nights of Lights event. The room was decent, but definitely not worth $500. We would probably stay here again, but not during Nights of Lights because of the price.

The good: very close to downtown, quiet rooms and very clean. The room was spacious and has a small fridge for drinks and a safe for valuables. Good to know:Valet parking is the only real option for parking, and is 35$ per day. The pool is really small, shallow and closes at around 8 pm. There is an odd rule posted that guests are only allowed to use it for 15 minutes. The not so great: The main floor and all the hallways and elevators smell Very strongly of heavily perfumed laundry sheets. It was very overwhelming and we stayed in our room or exited the hotel very quickly to avoid the scent. Our room did not have any noticeable odor luckily, but if you are at all sensitive to strong scents be warned, i have stayed in many hotels over the years and have never experienced anything like it. I can't even imagine how the hotel would achieve the degree of perfume we experienced in such a large space and over such an extended period of time. It was akin to being stuck in an elevator with someone who dumped a whole bottle of perfume on their clothes before getting in.

It was nice. The valet guy when we checked in was so nice and helpful. Lunch at the hotel’s restaurant was yummy! The pool was not heated…. The kids were ok but way too chilly for me! The bathroom is nice and spacious but the wall is snot solid so there is no way to use the restroom at night with lighting up the entire room. They need a black out curtain for the bathroom. Overall nice stay!

The carpet around the beds was dirty vacuumed. Tile on the floor in the shower is wall tile, very slick! Every time we went to the Starbucks in the lobby there was no attendant. Avoid the breakfast, expensive and they can't even manage fresh potatoes, still trying to figure out how the eggs were cooked. For the cost I'll look elsewhere next time I'm in town.

Hotel was beautifully decorated. But we would have liked to see one Menorah among all of the festive decorations. Our room was spacious, clean and had a wonderful terrace. The staff were excellent and friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

Horrible stay on my anniversary. No water pressure and the water would not get hot. Bed was terrible like laying on plywood. Pillows should be thrown away because of the lack of filling. It was like sleeping on a dish rag. TV remote did not work at all. Honestly I have no idea how anyone could be happy with this establishment.

Overall, I'd say our stay was okay. I feel for the cost, there should have been more amenities included. For example, parking, decent coffee, and nicer toiletries. Everything was immaculate and the beds were comfortable enough. We were on the first floor (probably because we booked at the last minute) so having a balcony wasn't as nice. As well as it being noisier, because we were right inside the doorway to the lobby.

NOT worth $600 a night. Maybe $250. 1st time I have ever reviewed a hotel. I have traved the world. Why have a terrace to look at power lines and peoples backyards. Water pressure was bad. Both days. Hard to even get shampoo out of your hair. Floor in shower was tiled, slippery and slooped bad, even the shower door would reopen due to slope No light switches by bed. Every light needed to be turned off at the light. Mattress was not as expected for upscale hotel, slept good but was exhausted from walking the city.

It was all excellent but our fridge conked out the first night and we had to get a replacement. We lost several things in the fridge because it shut off. Would like to have had someone ask if the fridge had caused us to lose some food and drink. Also, AC was not working properly but we got an engineer from the hotel to fix it.

The staff was The Renaissance was fantastic. Mackenzie and her team were so friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to stay longer because we had flight delays and we had an issue with one of the rooms, which was quickly rectified. The valet team was amazing and so helpful with recommendations for my running during down time. My family just moved down to St. Augustine and when I come to visit- I promise to return!!

This hotel is perfectly positioned for general.purposes. It was right across from the Old Town Trolley welcome center, which we used during Friday and Saturday. The old main gates to the city were 2 blocks away. In between lay the St. Augustine welcome center and STAR LINE complementary bus, which we used for the Black Raven Sunset Pirate cruise. All that was near perfect, but the Renaissance Hotel was a step above everything! We arrived early on Friday, asked if our room was ready and, considering it was 8:00 EDT, we did not expect it to be ready. We decided breakfast was in order which we had in the onsite restaurant. Near the end of our meal, we received a call that our room was ready! We finished and crossed the courtyard to the lobby and our vehicle was already there. I checked us in and my wife and valet already had the luggage on the cart ready to head to our room! I could go on, but the service only improved, so there is no need! What we noticed is, at least to us, that all the hotels surrounding St. George St. were smaller with extremely limited parking and appeared to be a little shabby! That is decidedly NOT the case with respect to the Renaissance! The Renaissance Hotel is very near perfect and the entire staff were very well trained and proud to honorably serve all!

This was a beautiful hotel which was very conveniently located to the downtown area of Saint Augustine. We were able to walk to all the attractions we wanted to see within the city limits. They only had valet parking for a $35 a day fee. I was most disappointed in the housekeeping services which were non existent until I requested it and then it took two days to receive. Even then, I had to contact the lady who was serving our floor to provide me with essential items (towels, toilet paper, cups/coffee) which I carried to our room. Our trash was overflowing and that was emptied after complaining. When I brought it to the attention at the front desk, they were more nonchalant than sorry. For the price of each night's stay, I was very disturbed about the continued lack of response to our need to have our room serviced.

Both the room and the common areas were beautiful, clean and well maintained. The location is conveniently located right in the historical area of St. Augustine’s. It’s just a few minutes walk to everything you could possibly want or need. I was disappointed in their sneaky attempt to downgrade our room. After receiving the keys and lugging all our stuff to the room, they had provided us a two double bed room without a balcony. I had booked a king room with balcony (which had already been paid in full). I had to lug all my stuff back downstairs again only to be told they had overbooked and that they had no wiggle room. They offered us free breakfast. When that didn’t satisfy me, they offered free parking. This didn’t satisfy me either as I simply wanted what I had paid for. After arguing and speaking with the management, they provided the room we had booked. We never received an apology and I was very disappointed that they tried to pull the wool over our eyes forcing me to argue for what we paid for. I had booked the room special for my wife’s birthday and Valentine’s Day. We had just driven across the state to celebrate. When we should have been feeling happy to be there and celebrating, we instead had feelings of anger and frustrations. Our experience was certainly not as positive as it could have been as a result.

Beautiful property, very well kept. Food at the bar was superb. The room had a balcony looking out to the decorared streets. It's close enough to everything without having to deal with the crowds. Valet attendants very courteous and quick to help and answer questions Front desk personnel could use better training, clerk checking us in was rude and not very helpful had to ask the other younger clerk to assist us with directions and tickets to the attractions. Same at check out lady at the front desk was flustered and in a bad mood but overall it was a good experience

Mackenzie at the front desk was awesome, she helped us check in early, and with a great room on the second floor. The rest of the front desk staff were great as well. Room was clean, and in a great location. Daniel, from the bar was in the lobby, making fresh free non alcoholic beverages, which was a very nice touch. Kudos to the General manager for that touch. The location is walkable to everything, and safe. The only down spot was the increase to Valet parking, which doubled to 40 dollars, used to be 20 which was a little better. Overall my experience was a 8/10 with my family. Will return Thanks

This is a beautiful new hotel built to look like a famous historic one in Saint Augustine. Everyone at the hotel and the attached restaurant were incredibly friendly and extremely helpful. The location is perfect! A quarter of a mile walk and you are right in the middle of historic Saint Augustine. We’ll definitely stay here again!

The stay was great the only thing I can say negative is it was very noisy, the room just was not quiet. The breakfast was terrible I will not eat there again. The service was slow and the bacon was right out of the fryer. I cooked for years I know when they take the bacon and put it right in the fryer.
